Final Fantasy XIII: Slaves of Fate

Akira gasped and closed her eyes as Flare hit...not her? Opening her eyes she saw Snow, thankfully he wasn't hurt. Hearing Jenny shout about her camera she turned and held her gunblade in a defensive stance. She wished she could be strong like Snow or skilled like Light.

Lightning wished Hope where here to give them a boost. She settled for a relieved breath that Akira was okay. Holding her gunblade out toward Omega she waited for him to answer Snow's question. Cid had been sort of chatty, but this guy was different. "Anyone who knows Snow and he doesn't know them obviously has been spying on us. Who are you?" Keeping in her hand a Ruinaga, Light waited more patiently than she normally would've.

 

Omega was taken by surprise. He never expected them to react this fast. Even then, it was all boring to him. Mya's gunblade only went through his clothes, as she hit a part of his body that had already become crystal. The chain's grip grew tighter around the arm, increasing blood loss. "Enough of this!" he yelled as he casted Stopga, canceling everyone's current actions including his own. He freed his arm from the chain and examined it. "Damn. I'm bleeding pretty bad..." Omega backhanded Mya out of the way as he turned to face Snow and Lightning. He quickly answered, "You two really don't remember seeing a wounded man with a half-bandaged face in Oerba a day or two before you went 'missing'?" The burning camera soon caught his eye. I was going to banish that to the Void, but that works. Blood started to trickle down his injured arm under his clothes, reminding him to take care of it immediately.

"No more time for games, l'Cie," he began while unsheathing Blood Sword. In a red streak of his blade, he dashed towards Akira to strike through her. He continued past Akira and grabbed Jenny by her head and faced everyone, holding her in front of him. "Have fun watching your apprentices suffer," he finished. Soon, Omega repeatedly takes turns casting Drain on Jenny and attacking everyone with Vile Exploitation, making Jenny get a near double dose of her life drained out of her. More pain for me means more pain for all of you.

 

Mya hit the ground hard as she was taken by surprise by the stop magic and when he smacked her away. She got back up and saw him grabbing Jenney and use some sort of draining magic. She narrowed her eyes. If she attacked, it could cause more damage to Jenny. She the aimed her gunblade at Omega's hand that held Jenny and shot his hand.

 

Ryou watcehd teh scene unfold as he gripped the daito's handle, "This guy certainly knows his magic." He thought to himself, he had to think fast. "But thanks to taht Stopga magic, we're back to sqaure oena nd he immediately brought the pace back up in his favor, but if we disrupt that..."

Ryou looked at Snow briefly. "Snow probably could save her while we distract him..." he thoguht and charged at Omega, brandishing the daito as he went to side at omega's crystal-like body.

 

The bullet went straight through Omega's hand, ending his dualcasting of Drain and Vile Exploitation, but not before the last of it healed the gun injury. "Well, that was fast," he remarked. A slight hint of annoyance could be heard as he spoke. He took a look at Jenny and could see that she was pretty out of it. Comatose maybe, but not dead. Ryou making a dash at him caught his eye. With Blood Sword, he blocked the attack with a disarming blow that followed with four deep, rapid slashes across his opponent's chest and a blast of Ruinga fired from the sword's tip. After a deep sigh of disappointment, he slumps Jenny over his shoulder and rises high into the air. "It's about time I headed back," he tells them, "I'm taking the girl. If you want her back then come get her. While you're at it, go visit 'Dahaka's Grave'. It's the least you can do after murdering him all those years ago." Omega then looks at Snow and Lightning in the eye. "You two should know where." Leaving them with that, he heads back towards Taejin's Tower.

"Wha-what?" Jenny looked up as she was taken. Her captor was none other than the Crystal l'Cie. "What are you doing?! Let me go!" She demanded as she struggled, but to no avail. "Heeeellpp!" She yelled as Omega pulled her away, back to Taejin's Tower.

"Ryou!" Snow yelled as he saw one of his trainees being cut down and then attacked with a Ruinga spell. "That's it!" He ran towards Omega, his fists flying, but Omega had disappeared only to reappear by Jenny. "Let her go!" He ordered Omega, but the l'Cie simply took off. Not worrying anymore about who Omega was, only that he was his enemy, Snow picked up Ryou and Mia. "Come on..." he said, defeated. "Let's take them back to the house..." He would worry about Jenny after these two were alright. But he knew one thing: he would bring her back.

"I didn't do anything..." Leo muttered. He tried to protect Jenny, but Omega was too fast. He thought he was being smart by not attacking, but maybe...he was just scared. He took his Gunblade and placed it in his shirt, through the neckhole. It was a weird place to put it, but that's where he kept it. Alright, he thought as he followed Snow.



"As long as I have a want. I have a reason for living. Satisfaction is death."

"To the Subterra we shall go~" Cid mused as the Chocobo headed north. They passed the greenery of the Steppe in minutes, reaching a closed narrow trail. Cid could make out a Behemoth King and Megistotherian, a large silver wolf-like monster, fighting each other. "How about a little fun first, mi'lady?" Cid asked sarcastically as he jumped off the Chocobo. "You take the Megistotherian, I'll take the Behemoth? But don't kill it," The last part was a demand, not a suggestion. As he walked forward, he brought out his weapons: two scythes held together by a chain.

Lightning felt as if she'd missed a lot. She slumped, her skills were slow since being in crystal stasis. Her training wasn't intense enough. Seeing Akira as frozen as she made her cringe inside. She wanted to scold Snow and herself for being such idiots. Light followed Snow with a grim mood, pulling Akira with her. Overall she was glad Akira wasn't dead, unlike Ryou who was probably in critical condition. She really wished Hope or Vanille was here to heal his wounds. Light would have to put to good use her skills from Hope. Putting her gunblade awayshe sullenly chatised herself.

Akira felt Light's hands pulling her. Reluctantly she followed, Jenny was gone and she hadn't done a thing but get in the way and risk everyone's lives. She felt useless like this. Akira looked to Leo and to Ryou. Ryou had been hurt and she'd take it all on herself. "I'm so sorry, Ryou." she mumbled.

 

Mya yelped as Snow picked her up. Hey! Let me down. I'm perfectly fine you know! [I can walk as you can see! /COLOR]She tried to get off of Snow.

Personality: Very high energy and a real go getter. He is easily manipulated and talked into things. He treats fighting like a game and is always smiling or laughing. A real wild child.

Biography: Noah has been in his treehouse home in the Gapra Whitewood his whole life. A freak accident where he witnessed the death of his father and mother sticks in the back of his mind and he has never spoken of it, instead covering up his pain behind laughter and a child like innocence. Nature has hardened him through his short years in life and he can usually be heard strengethening his hands and feet on the trees and rocks in the area. He has always had an affinity for time and space magic that he will often use to his advantage in a fight or when catching dinner. He is incredibly swift to begin with and that is only amplified when adding a haste spell which can grant him the appearance of teleportation to an untrained eye. (Not sure if this is fleshed out enough this is my first RP let me know if it needs anything else. Also his only Accessible spells are Haste, Slow, Stop, Meteor, Invisible, Reflect, Warp, and Regen)

Ryou's eyes widened as he was disarmed within a matter of seconds and he felt the slashes upon him and then blown back from the Ruinga as he soared for a few moment and crashlanded into the ground, his senses gone into complete overload and shock as he certainly sustained critical damage as he could hear Snow's cry as Ryou couldn't mov to see but then, he felt a strong pair of arms lift him up, he knew this was Snow just by sense and feel as he coughed, some blood escaping as well as he felt his body start to calm down but he couldn't really move any limbs.

"...I tried my best..." He thought to himself, he knew he did and knew what worries could befall upons the other's minds just seeing him in this state and they could probably be regretting it and that just that thought pushed him on as he moved his head. "Don't worry...I'll be fine..." He managed to say through sheer force of will.

 

OOC: OKAY, I THINK I FINALLY HAVE DOWN MIA AND MYA, BUT YES, I MEANT MYA (*edits post*). This shouldn't be a problem anymore after the next few posts when I do something to the group!

I thought you were someone else at first xD It works, except that no one besides Lightning and Snow are l'Cie yet (minus the Crystal l'Cie) and they're all in Oerba on Gran Pulse so we need to find a way to get your character to Pulse. If you're willing to wait several posts I can work you in. I have a plan for everyone and Noah would fit in nicely somewhere. Also, that'd probably be the cutest Eidolon ever xD but you don't have to worry about getting your Eidolon's details all set yet. Anyway, we'll continue this conversation in this thread

"I know you will," Snow said quietly as he laid Ryou on one of the beds. Unlike the other trainees without family, Ryou didn't live with them, but in his own house alone. Snow had always taken pity on the young man because of this, but he believed it made Ryou more mature. "Next time, just leave the fighting to us l'Cie," Snow smiled as he looked at Lightning. "You're better with healing magic than I am, Light. Do your thing," he moved over to the next bottom bed across the small room and placed Mia there. Her wounds didn't seem as bad as Ryou's. It looked like she had just fainted from exhaustion. They got their first real taste of battle today, Snow thought. A tiny bit of regret started forming in the back of his mind. Maybe they shouldn't have trained the kids...maybe they should have left them in Oerba...he studied Akira, Leo, Mya, Lynnea, and Grey. "We're going to save Jenny," he said aloud. His eyes were still on the apprentices, but it was directed at Lightning.

Leo gazed back at Akira before sitting down at the foot of Ryou's bed. He pulled out his gunblade from the front of his shirt and let the tip drop. He sighed at Snow's words, agreeing before they finally registered. "Wait...no, we're not?" He asked. This training was not for nothing! He thought as his eyes narrowed. "We have to save Jenny, too. Right, guys?" He looked at Akira, hoping she would agree. "It's our fault that that...thing took her!" Leo stood back up, gripping his Gunblade tightly. "We can't just sit around!"

Mia slowly woke up and looked around. She rubbed her head before remembering what happened. "The Crystal l'Cie!!!!! Jenny!!!!!" She took out of her bed, and ran to the bed.

Taejin's Tower was in sight. It wouldn't be too long before he reached it. Suddenly from below, a Zirnitra caught their scent and began to chase after them. Omega briefly turned his head to have a look at it. "Pestilence..." he said quietly to himself. Banish once again builds up in his previously injured hand. "Hang on," he tells Jenny. The wyvern's roar pierces the sky as Omega stops to aim the spell at the creature.

His last words to the creature: "To the silent beyond."

The blast of dark magic fired from his palm, moving like a missile. It hits the Zirnitra dead center in its mouth, stunning it from the impact and ripping a hole in the fabric of space to suck the creature in atom by atom. It tried to fight against the pull but it was a futile effort. The rift soon sealed once the Zirnitra's very existence disappeared into the Void. "Imagine this: I was going to hit both you and your camera with that earlier," he says to her, "Now imagine what would happen if someone unable to control his or herself with that kind of power targets Habara. Or Oerba. Or Eden. Or any other city on Gran Pulse or Cocoon." A short pause is taken to give her time to envision that horror. "Be grateful I'm not one of those people." He continues on to the top of the rebuilt tower.

 

Lightning crouched beside Ryou and her hands glowed a green light as she used her curaga magic as best she could to heal Ryou, "I expected nothing less from you Snow. Of course we're going after her. It's plain and simple what we need to do. I'm going to rip that damned Crystal l'Cie's pretty little face right off!" Light growled as she focused on Ryou, speaking with a gentler tone, "Just tell me when you feel a change. It may change on the outside but inside is a different matter."

Akira slumped to the floor, "Wh-what can we do Leo? We're human. We dont' stand a chance, but if it means I can give it a shot at doing something, I'm in!" She stood and clenched her fist in front of her, "If we try, I'm sure we'll prevail eventually. Even Crystal l'Cie have weaknesses, right?"

 

Ryou nodded lightly at Light, he could slowly feel his injures healing but like Light said, outside appearances may show you seme okay but the insides are the most damaged, the Curaga magic was slowly working on the inside interior but it was most focused on the outside.

Ryou just stared at the woman for perhaps what seemed like an eternity as he breathed, it was steadily becoming easier as his brain was starting to calm down and think rationally, he knew as well that even if his injures were healed completely, the fact of his body not being able to move as it enters battle can possibly freeze him in place since the mind registers what happened and sends pulses to the body to stop it was possible as Ryou thought about it.

"You signed up for this Ryou, it was bound to happen evntually and you did prepare yourself for what may ever happen" He thought to himself.

Jenny watched Omega attack the monster with fear on her face as she clutched her camera tight. She had struggled to get out of his grip, but now that she saw what he could do, she succumbed to him. "What--what do you want with me now?" She asked, her eyes tearing up.

"The power of the heart resides in the fists."

"Whoa, slow down there," Snow said, grabbing Mia. "Leave Jenny to us!" He turned to look at Leo and Akira and a grin escaped his face as he had a change of heart. "Well, that's the spirit then! New plan!" He looked at Lightning, wondering if she would approve. "Lightning and I will take a couple of you to come save Jenny. The others, you're going to Cocoon. Even without proof, you might convince the Sanctum about what's going to happen."
