Final Fantasy XIII: Slaves of Fate

Once the Eidolon had been tamed, he had advanced slightly, firing rounds off at anyone that wandered too close, but upon being 'ordered' back, he did so.
"No fair." he said, "I was in Ravager way before it was cool."

Standing in the midst of prone Cavalry and Guardian Corps soldiers was Byron, who had stopped due to the order, barely. Who could tell if the soldiers were dead, or merely unconcious? The ex-villager didn't care, though he hoped they were dead, he mostly just wanted them to suffer.
"Looks like the rest of you get of easy." he growled, "I don't want to alienate my friends now, do I?"
He, too, retreated the newest Eidolon, though he didn't need to change into Ravager since his default style combined it with Commando anyway.
"What's the plan?" They both said in unision, much to the others annoyance.

 

Mia nodded at Leo and changed to Ravager herself before climbing to the top of Alexander. She waited there for all the other l'Cie to come for whatever Leo wanted to do with her Eidolon. Mia looked at the sky and wished she could to speak to Snow's mind as she thought to herself, 'I wish you could of seen the Eidolon I've gotten. I bet you would be surprised as Lighting was.......' She touched his bandanna and gripped her spear, waiting for the l'Cie.

 

Jaden heard Leo's order and smirked. "Righty-o! BOOYA!" he yelled, as he shifted into Ravager.
He then noticed Cid flying at great speed towards the others.
"No way glass boy!" he yelled as he shot a round of Fire and Aero after the crystal L'cie.

Linegia let the many blows rain down at her, hitting her small body, before the over head heel drop headed towards her.
She caught it with one hand, squeezing his leg hard, her nails digging into his flesh as she injected him with more of her unique poison as well as simultaneously casting Bio on him, along with Drainga and Osmosis, draining his energy for her own, which since she was currently connected with him internally via his leg, was a much easier process than had they be separate..
Once she was done, she created an orb of black energy in her palm and thrusted it into his face, it exploding and blowing him into the air as she let go of his leg.
She called her sword to her hand and flew up after him, smashing him away again with the side of it, batting him further and further away from his destination as she continued to keep up with him and maintain her assault. "I told you, no matter how hard you try. You won't get to them. The plot of my Master's story will not allow it."

 

Mya frowned at Leo's plan. She wasn't a ravager in any way, but followed the rest towards Alexander. Umm Leo? What about the people who DON'T have Ravager of any sort?

 

"Naivete and innocence. Such is the mind of youth."
Leo grimaced as he saw Cid and Grey both come, but he had actually hoped for Cid to follow. "Everyone, get on Alexander! Get into Ravager! And attack! Don't let the Calvary get close!!" He had more to his plan, but for now, he wanted everyone to use spells while under Alexander's protection and use long range attacks to keep the Calvary at bay until he could put in the next part of his plan into action. "Mya! Go Commando and follow me! Lightning, you, too!" And with that, he aimed his sword into the air and cast Barrier on his allies, which he identified as everyone near Alexander. Unfortunately, that included Grey and Cid. He then set his sights on the nearest Calvary soldiers. "Big bad Calvary officers? Sounds like the cream of the idiot crop to me!" He said Provoking them. He then threw his Gunblade into the air, letting it stab into the ground after it felt. He felt Brawler activate, increasing his barehanded strength, as he raised his fists. "Light, Mya, we'll do the dirty work!" He ran towards the oncoming army. There was no way they could win, but they could turn things into their favor until his plan came into fruition.

"Whoa!" Cid didn't see Jaden's attack and dodged the Fire, not out of fear of being hurt, but out of surprise. The Aero, however, hit him and sent him higher into the air. "Hey now, I'm on your side, pipsqueak!" Cid yelled as he flew after Jaden.

 

Lightning stayed in her commando role and followed after Leo. 'He certainly has grown in the time he's been away.... It's a shame....being a l'Cie...it used to be an honor to the people of Pulse. Now it's mearly our curse.' Light lept her way into a large surrounding of Calvery soldiers and tapped into an old rage she still hadn't gotten over, "Bartandelus." she growled and let her magic flow freely throughout her body. First strike, Lightning's Exploder Blade attack met with flesh and scattered several surrounding officers. Spinning on her heel to cover her back she sent a Scathe spell outwards. Her EMF was acting up, even as she regretably snapped her fingers.

Akira clambered onto Alexander, feeling unnerved already and fought alongside the others, sending Water spells outward to the Calvery.

 

Mya followed Lightning and Leo around, constantly shooting around her and landing several Blitz attacks that knocked away crowds of troops. I hope Leo knows that we can't outlast an army. Hope the rest are alright. She continued pummeling her assault on the troops around them, already feeling a bit exausted.

 

Shinryu, battered, bruised, and bleeding from all the fighting, was in the middle of sweeping up groups of soldiers when Leo called everyone to Alexander. Sure, he wasn't a l'Cie, but this was his only out of an endless fight. And with nearly everyone's focus either on the Eidolon or the others, an inside attack wouldn't hurt would it? Running towards Alexander, the boy used the full length of his lance to knock down anyone and everyone in his way. However, after taking down a small cluster of enemies in front of him with a Blitz, he didn't notice Mya behind them in time and was about to take off her head before stopping himself at the last second. Backing off, he continued on past her and towards Alexander.

Although Bio had no effect on Omega, everything else did and weakened him greatly. Now enraged, he made the decision to "preserve" Oerba and everyone in it. He never did quite understand why people rebuild towns and cities only to have it destroyed eventually either by the people themselves or an outside force. If he's going to do this he needed to get on the ground, first of all. So when Linegia came in for another blow, he dropped Blood Sword and stopped the incoming blade with his right fist, nearly splitting his hand down the middle in the process. In a dark and slightly monstrous tone, he said to her, "Who said I had to reach them?" He kicked off of her and fell straight to the ground, dropping to his knees upon landing and out of breath. Dark energies soon covered his entire right arm. It was similar to what happens when he's about to cast Banish but it was obvious this was on a much larger scale.

 

"Yeah right! As if I'd believe that Glass Boy!" Jaden yelled back at him, casting another bout of Fire and Aero.
This guy had caused too much trouble for them already... if it wasn't for him, they wouldn't even be in this mess.

Linegia's blank stare bore into Omega.
Surely you've realised now... whatever you're planning won't work.
There is a reason I was chosen to fight you.
Of course, Cid could have done better undoubtedly, but you're not worthy of someone like him.
But then... why not on of the other Crystal L'cie? Like Alice?" she left that thought in his mind.
As she began to prepare her counter innately.
"I am the weapon developed by Cocoon to combat the L'cie threat. Doesn't it make sense?
Why else would I have such magic resistance? Magic is the tool of L'cie.
My power before becoming a Crystal L'cie would have been enough to take down L'cie of all kinds on it's own.
But with my power now as me, myself being a Crystal L'cie. You've been fighting a losing battle the whole time." she informed him, waiting for him to make the first move.
No matter what he did, she would be able to counter it instantly and perfectly.

"Get," Leo moved to the right, avoiding a laser, "out," he ducked, avoiding another one and ran forward, "of," he found himself below a Calvary soldier, "my," he clenched his right fist, "WAY!" He jumped up, his fist making contact with the soldier's chin. He heard a loud sound, like metal crunching, as the soldier was launched into the air. "You can't stop us!" Before the soldier could hit the ground, Leo aimed his left fist at the soldier's chest, knocking him back. He could feel his magic building up inside of him. Just a moment longer...He turned to see how the others were faring. He grimaced when he saw Cid and Jaden. "Forget him, Jay! We need him for now!" He got distracted and didn't see the soldier running at him from behind, gun raised.

"Freeze, twerp!" Cid yelled as he threw his fist in Jaden's direction. A flurry of Blizzards hit Jaden's spell and continued towards the l'Cie. "Listen to the blond twerp! I'm here to help!" Well, help me, anyway, he added to himself.

 

"The only magical thing about this is ripping the hole in dimensions. You're just as safe as everyone else, little girl," Omega growled. "Let Oerba, and all within it, be imprisoned in a timeless landscape!" he declared before plunging his right hand into the ground and releasing Banishga into the earth. The ground beneath him turned pitch black and, from there, began to spread throughout the village. Meanwhile countless black threads burst out from the darkness and latched onto everything and anything to drag them into the Void. Houses, trees, rubble, ash, various corpses and living creatures, even the flames were consumed. Omega, too, was no exception as a multitude of threads had tightly wrapped around him.

Shinryu climbed up Alexander and stood next to Mia, nearly drained of energy. Something fast in the skies caught his eye. He looked up to see that it was only a bird. Nothing out of the ordinary other than it seemed to be fleeing for its life, but what isn't in this world? Everyone here pretty much was. Unexpectedly, black tentacle-things twisted themselves around the bird and seemingly consumed it before retracting back. What the...! The boy looked towards the direction the bird came from and saw a spreading darkness swallowing the village from the inside. He froze. Terror and fear swept over him as he knew what was coming this way. You were never bluffing when you threatened sink a place in the Rift, were you?

 

Mya continued fighting her way alongside Lightning until she leaned on one knee, tired. She didn't notice a soldier behind her who aimed a gun at her head when he was dragged away by a black thread as well as others. Mya looked around frantically. What the hell is going on?! She then followed it towards Omega. What is he planning now?

 

Looking behind himself, Ren saw the mass of tentacles that had began dragging everything, and gave up entirely on trying to rationalize what was happening. It wasn't worth trying anymore.
"So, this is great. We either wind up shot to death, or dragged off into nowhere by tentacles that may or may not be overly friendly." he commented, not even bothering to make sense himself either.

Byron growled to himself. So far his plan had been interfered with constantly. He couldn't even use his Crystal abilities, because doing so would render everything he had done so far completely pointless, meaning that he was limited to fighting on almost equal terms with the regular L'Cie.
Why is it that whenever Omega gets involved, plans stop working? Something really needs to be done about that guy.

 

Lightning ducked under a close shot, knocked the legs out of under a soldier before her and tossed her gunblade, infusing it with the energy of Strike, towards the soldier approaching Leo from behind. "Leo, lesson one! PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR SURROUNDINGS! Lightning rattled off her lessons as her gunblade struck the soldier and warped back to her hands in time to block a shot from another soldier.

 

Omega's eyes widened when Argent called out to them. Don't attack, don't attack, don't attack, don't- As soon as the ground detonated, all of the black tendrils retracted and Omega was sent flying. Dammit! He lost control of the spell, causing a hole to open up where he unleashed it. He quickly recovered while in mid-air and shot towards Argent in a rage, lifting him into the air by his throat upon contact.

"Run," Shin advised Mia. He had a really bad idea about what was going to happen. "Just..." In the areas where the earth was black, everything started to collapse and sink. And with it still spreading, it would only be matter of time before the same happens to them. "RUN!" he, surprisingly, shouted to everyone.

 

"You guys do a whole lot of this 'running' stuff, don't you? Problem, problem, problem, there's just never a break." Ren chimed, before sprinting after the boy who before now hadn't indicated in any way that he could speak. Yes, it was all confusing, even a little overwhelming, but he knew by now that hesitating could get you killed, and so that was one thing he did not do.

That does it! the Oerban thought to himself in a rage. As soon as he finished his plan, Byron would be coming for Omega, and Gods help anyone that got to him before he did. If he wasn't so determined to go through with this plan of his, he would have stripped off his limits and ripped the guy apart with his chains until there was not a living fragment left, but if what the Shinryu boy had yelled was anything to go by, it might be better idea to leave -- for now.
He ran after the black-coated lad, who had just taken off too, though he truly doubted that they would have to outrun the circle fully.

 

OOC: Guys, I'm sorry for not posting in so long. Due to some huge personal problems, I haven't had much motivation to RP in weeks. But I'm back now!

"Yelp!" Leo was embarrassed by his squeal as the attacking soldier fell. Thanks, Light, he thought, silently scolding himself for overestimating his skills. Come on...I should be able to summon Belias soo-"What the?" For the first time in his life, Leo performed a backflip just as a black tendril exploded from the ground, rupturing the dirt around it. "The hell?" He looked around, noticing them everywhere. This feeling... His fingers were squeezing his Gunblade so tight, he could almost feel blood. The young hero's body trembled slightly. It's like...all of the evil in the world, all of the malevolence is devouring us. His teeth clenched, Leo looked around. "Not part of the plan, not part of the plan!" He started running towards the others. "Everybody, regroup. New plan: Get the hell out of here!" He couldn't shake the feeling he was getting. It was as if he was staring at a bottomless abyss that called out to him...and reached out to pull him in. His brand started to glow as an attacking Calvary soldier ran towards him. His first instinct was to attack and he did just that, ducking to avoid the soldier's attack, and rising to strike him in the head with the dull side of his blade. A loud clang! later, the soldier fell and Leo started to panic. "No, no, no, no!" He stopped running, scared to leave the soldier behind as an orange crystallized cross erupted from his chest. "BELIAASSS!" Without striking the crystal, Leo watched it expand and Belias stood in front of him, his shadow towering long. Leo didn't say a word and just looked into where the Eidolon's eyes should be. He silently asked what he should do as a single word escaped his lips. "Help."
Belias looked at Leo with an eyeless mask and obliged. Within seconds, the Eidolon shifted into his Gestalt mode and whipped his tail, beckoning his rider.
"Hope you're faster now," Leo said, nodding as he knelt down, picked up the Calvary soldier, and placed him on the seat of Belias before getting there himself. He placed his Gunblade in its gearshift-like spot in the ATV and put Belias' mask on his face. "Let's ride!" Together, Eidolon and l'Cie rode towards the others. "Everybody! Get on!" He yelled, riding through flames, around tentacles, and over dead bodies. Beneath his mask, a tear fell as he realized he wouldn't be able to fit all of the l'Cie on Belias.

"Goddamn it, Omega!" Cid yelled as a tentacle wrapped around his torso. He felt immense pain as it brought him down and the world went black...until a bright light wrapped around his body and destroyed the tentacle. "That took too much," he said, now panting. It was a testament to the power of the Rift. With all of his magic, Cid could summon the mightiest creatures of Pulse without so much as a thought and yet, he was only able to destroy one tentacle of the Rift just to have it replaced with the others. "This isn't part of the plan," he grumbled, looking around as Leo sped past him, yelling orders. "Stupid boy," the Crystal warrior muttered as he used his own powers to summon a Wyvern. "If you want to live," he looked at Jaden, "Get on the freakin' thing now. You and all of your little friends."
