Final Fantasy XIII: Slaves of Fate

Linegia ignored his Ruin, Ruinga and Ruinja spells as they hit her, leaving her unharmed, and immediately, she spun around with surprising speed since she was holding such a big sword and proceeded to block his blade strikes.
"Is that all?
...I told you Omega." She swung her sword and unleashed a spark of dark energy at him.
"You'll have to do a lot better than that." she spoke.
She could tell, right now, they were both feeling each other out, seeing who would slip first... Neither were anywhere near fighting with their true strength as of yet.

 

Alice used her bow to block the attack from Shinryu. She smiled, and knocked him away. Looking at them, Alice smiled and changed, her demonic claw holding her arrow. "So, who of you will I send to see the Mad Hatter?"

 

DNA Seqencing: 13% Complete

All Omega needed to do was to buy enough time for this to finish. Once it did...well, he could clone her if he wanted to. Or perhaps form some parasitic bond with her. Or maybe he'll do nothing at all and only keep it in his mental record. The possibilities were endless. "Well, since I'm feeling generous..." he said while taking a more defensive role, "...Have at me."

 

OOC: Graxe, whatever you're doing with Linegia's DNA, I can't allow it. You can't be using a variety of powers at your whim that your OC form didn't have without my permission and you can't do anything to Bushy-Brow's (or anybody's, for that matters) without their permission. Omega isn't a god. Remember, Linegia should be a fair match for Omega.

Leo's Stonestrike cut through Belias and the Eidolon stumbled back. It was the first sign of fatigue or pain that the Eidolon showed. And it was then that Leo knew he won. "You're mine!" Leo said, grinning as the stone eroded away instantly form his blade. Belias dropped his staff, a loud clang ringing through the morning light, and raised his two humanoid hands up. "Bring it on!" Leo yelled as he ran forward and torrents of flame erupted from the palms of 'man!Belias' towards Leo, but the young l'Cie rolled out of the way. Leo quickly dove forward until he could thrust his Gunblade into Belias...and that's what he did. Leo then watched as Belias threw his staff in the air and ran to the side. The giant, ram-like, monster-and-man-fused-as-one, fire and earth Eidolon started to transform. The first thing that happened was that 'monster!Belias''s torso opened up and man!Belias entered, condensing the Eidolon's size. However, man!Belias' mask stayed on the outside, now attached to the chin of monster!Belias' mask. Belias dropped to his knees and bent his arms. He laid on all fours so his large fists were on the ground. His thumbs portruded and came out before connecting at the claw. The rest of the fists then started to spin, like wheels, despite being connected to the thumbs and arms, neither of which were spinning. Belias' legs then rolled up to become slightly smaller wheels. His tail didn't change, staying as an addition to the vehicle. Belias' staff then came crashing down, breaking apart as it did. The curved blades attached themselves to Belias' mask, appearing as horns with chimes hanging off. The shaft of the staff broke into smaller pieces and lined the area around Belias' back. The bottom tip of it, with a small blade attached was nestled by his shoulder. Leo looked at his Eidolon's gestalt mode, an All-Terrain-Vehicle with a tail and horns and jumped onto his seat. He noticed where the bottom tip of the staff was there was another hole. He pulled out his Gunblade and inserted it and the wheels started to spin. He realized he was supposed to use his Gunblade to control it. "Well, this is something else," he said to himself as a thought occurred. He reached over Belias' horned mask, which he realized was supposed to function as the handlebars, and took the smaller mask that belonged to the humanoid torso. He placed the mask on his head and grinned.

*EIDOLON "BELIAS" OBTAINED. TIER TWO OF DEFAULT ROLE "SENTINEL" UNLOCKED FOR LEO ZEALOT*

Cid watched as Alice kept the others busy, but it wasn't enough. He couldn't have Lightning stop from what he was about to do. He looked at Argent and smiled. "Hey there, Aeterna, remember me? You didn't want our help training you. That's right, I'm none other than Snow!" He laughed and patted his chest. "Crystal l'Cie and all. Thanks to my new powers, I'm younger than ever! My body's at its prime! And now...I can do THIS!" His body started to glow and he turned around to Lightning. "COME ON OUT AND PLAY! THE BADDEST THING I CAN SUMMON!!" The ground started to shake as a ball of light appeared between Lightning's group fighting Alice and 'Snow' and Argent. The ball of light grew and changed shape to gain legs and a head. As the light dimmed, an Adamanchelid now stood between Lightning's group and Cid/Argent. Cid grinned and looked at Argent. "Not bad, huh?" Before Argent could answer, Cid shot a blast of Blizzard at his face.
Behind him, the Adamanchelid laid eyes on Lightning. In place of irises and pupils laid Jenova's brand. It then moved its sights to Akira and moved towards her.

The young Calvary soldier that had warned Argent about Lightning, the supposed Cieth, and the pictures being streamed was now trailing outside of Oerba. "I did it!" He yelled as he ripped off his helmet. Short brown hair and blue eyes were the only special figures about the generic face covered in sweat. There was no one around, but he ran towards the waters on the shore of Oerba. "I did what you told me!" He yelled to the skies as his body began to ache. He was now in the shallow water, the waves reaching his chest. "I told my commander exactly what you made me say! I streamed the pictures from that camera to our screen. Now please, get this damned thing off of me!" He begged frantically to the sky as he ripped off the top of his uniform and let the waters take it away. On his bare chest, over his heart was a brand; it was glowing. "Please...I don't want to become Crysta-" it was too late. His body was floating above the water. His skin was crystallizing too fast. "No...oh, god...no..." were his last words as he became crystal, his Focus fulfilled. His crystallized body fell into the water and the waves pushed deeper.​

 

"Akira!!!!!" Mia shouted, but her attention quickly shifted back to Alice, jumping backward to avoid her arrows. She gasped and hid behind the ruins of a building, trying to think. She ran out and attacked, swinging her spear. Alice's demon hand caught it and tossed her into a building, making it crumble. She tried to get up, gasping for air.

"Oh, Mia, I was honestly hoping this would be more fun. After all, Snow won't make a promise to live to a weakling. But he's crystal now, and all you have of him is that silly bandanna." Alice said, walking to her. "I promised Lingeria and the other Crystal l'Cie I would only play with you all, but you've become quite a bore."

Anyway... I'm changing Jaden's posting colour scheme ever so slightly. So yeah :P

"I got this!" Jaden yelled out to Mia as he turned and ran to Akira, stopping next to her with his swords ready.
"I doubt we can take this alone... but... we don't have much choice. And there ain't no way in hell I'm leaving you to face this thing alone!
Booya!" he told her with a smirk, his eyes on the big beast before them.

 

Mya stared up at the Adamenchield and pulled out her gunblade. Seems intimidating...but, determination will prosper! She switched to her Synergist paridigram and buffed her, Jaden, and Mia with Haste and Protect.

 

Ren drew his gun and took a quick step towards the Adamanchelid that had just appeared. "I'm not sure about you guys, but I'm pretty sure that qualifies as a priority target." he said slightly panicking, firing off a few ineffective round near the creature, hoping to capture it's attention. "Come on, look at me would you?!"

"I don't think you want that, trust me!" Byron yelled back to him, finally revealing himself to engage the Adamanchelid. He was limiting his own power to somewhere between Lightning and the apprentices, otherwise he would definitely draw negative attention to himself. All of his crystalized parts were covered up by his clothing, and unless he used his crystal powers, it was unlikely he'd be found out. He threw a Fira at the creature's head, following it up by drawing his knives and standing by Ren, battle-ready.

"I guess, whoever you are, I'm glad for the help." Ren said, as he readied himself for what would undoubtedly be a difficult battle.

 

Linegia's poison kicked in, severing all processes and leaving Omega greatly disoriented. Though he's been poisoned before, he never expected anything this strong. He could feel his strength leave him along with his defenses. "It's like...being hit with Grand Cross all over again..." he weakly muttered.

 

As Alice neared her, Mia swung her leg across the ground, causing her to fall the ground. "Sorry, Alice, but I got bigger problems to deal with. Your crazy tea party will have to wait." She grabbed her spear and switched to her Commando role, running to the Adamanchelid. Angel smiled and swung her rod, Mia jumped and slashed at the Adamanchelid.

 

Jaden looked at the new arrival.
"Jeez! L'cie are popping up everywhere!
That crazy lady is like a rabbit!" he yelled as he jumped into the air too to start attacking the big beast before them.

Linegia smirked at Omega's apparent pain. "I did try to tell you that whatever you were planning to do with my sample wouldn't work."
She charged forwards and smashed Omega with the flat side of her sword to send him flying into a nearby mountain side.
"Come on Omega. I thought you said that I was a pathetic excuse of a weapon. That a dog would be better.
Are you sure you weren't referring to yourself?"
She held out a hand and sent orbs of pure raw dark energy out into the mountain side where she had launched Omega.
And then... she waited for the dust to settle.
"Come on Omega? I know it will take more than that to finish you.
At least, I hope so." she said, her doll like face still not showing much emotion right now, her eyes briefly flashing white before returning to the regular pitch black ones she normally had.

 

Mia ignored Jaden and continued to attack. Angel was behind her, attacking the beast. The two took a quick look at Snow's bandanna and Angel tossed Mia into the air. Mia slashed her spear across one of its legs. She landed and looked back, gasping for air. Her fight with Alice left her a bit exhausted.

Gripping the handle of his Gunblade which acted like a gear shift to the ATV, Leo squeezed the trigger. The staff's blades, now placed at the front of his Eidolon's gestalt mode, moved forward and curved. They look just like a ram's horns...Leo thought as he pushed the handle down and the 'horns' went up. Leo grinned, "Niiice." He took the mask laying on his head and placed it on his face. It felt...strange. As if he was looking through Belias' eyes. Everything was tinted a dark shade of red and things stuck out more. He moved his face towards Grey and saw a blue aura around him. It was as if his mask was showing him signs of life. He let go of the trigger, causing the horns to move to the side, and laid hands on the smaller horns of Belias' mask: the handlebars. "Let's go!" He said it as he drove the ATV towards Grey, the kickback almost knocking him off. He drove the ATV towards Grey and looked at him through the Eidolon's mask, his blue eyes and pale face hidden by the brown texture. "So..." he said as he stopped next to Grey, "Pretty badass, huh?" He said it with a tinge of hope, believing Grey would forsake his plan of defecting. "I think now we have a chance of taking out Jenova and the Crystal l'Cie. I mean...we have Eidolons!"

Cid crossed his arms in front of his face, bracing himself for the explosion that followed. The explosion started at his feet and was soon all around him, blowing at his body from all directions. A grin started to form as he was blasted through the air, although without a single scratch. "ALL RIGHT!" He yelled as he stopped moving through air, as if he could fly, and almost flew towards Argent. (In reality he was controlling his fall) "I expected no less from the Brigadier General of the Fleet!" He grinned excitedly as ice covered his fist and he sent a Froststrike filled with momentum at Argent as he closed the gap. "The hero versus the soldier. Who'll win?!"

Omega dropped the Blood Sword when he got slammed all the way into the side of the mountain. The blade pierced the ground and ripped open a hole in the dimension. Over at the mountain, he sensed multiple sources of dark energy moving in his direction at fast speeds. Seeing no other way out, Omega looked at the magically charged Masamune. He stabbed into the rock with it, releasing the magics inside to open a portal to the Void, and fell through before getting blasted. The portal closed as soon as he entered.

In the Void, immediately, he felt a wave of nothingness wash over him as he fell from the roof of a dark cavern but he payed no mind to it. As he was lying on the cold rock, the only sounds he heard amidst the silence was the sound of rushing water and its echoes in the distance. He knew exactly where he was. "Of all the places to end up, I end up here: The caverns where Model V first fell." Omega got up on his feet and nearly dragged himself to the nearby wall. "But at least...at least it's not that desert." Walking to a small waterfall up ahead, he plunged head into it. After all that heat and fire from Oerba, the freezing cold water pouring down on him was nice change. Moments later he started to cough up very small amounts of this dark, black substance. His body, instead of building resistance and immunity to the poison, was outright rejecting it. When it all left his system, Omega rinsed his mouth with water and waited for the side effects to leave. It was during this waiting period that he noticed the tip of Blood Sword poking out of another portal from a rock platform below. "And there is my exit. How convenient." As soon as his strength returned, he jumped through the portal below.

Back on Gran Pulse, almost literally no time had passed during his absence. No sooner had he gone through the portal over at the mountain side did he reappear flying out of the one in Oerba. Taking hold of Blood Sword as he exited, Omega tackled into Linegia as she was speaking. "A stray would have smelled this coming half a world away," he said while leeching off her life wtith a steady stream of Drainga castings to the head. With his free hand he grabbed one of her ankles and whipped her at the still open portal to the Void. Following that he raised his hand into the sky, calling down Meteor directly above the village. He looked down at her and whatever parts of the village around her with cold eyes.

Shinryu landed on his feet after being knocked away. His attention was now towards the Adamanchelid...and was disappointed. This was the "baddest" creature he could bring out? The thing was an but an ant compared to its superior brethren, the Shaolong Gui. But whatever. It was just another thing to kill in the end, along with the chance of getting some gold dust as well.

The important thing here was to stay off the ground because of its stomps. With that in mind, the boy swiftly climbed up one of its legs to get on its shell. Once there, he ran straight towards the head while dragging one of the bladed ends of the lance into the back of its neck.

 

Jaden lashed out with his swords, directly attacking the Adamanchelid's face.
But suddenly it's long head whipped around sending him flying backwards (and also knocking Shinryu off) a fair distance away back into the village where he crashed hard into the remains of a house.
"...Guh... if it wasn't for all the pain and possibility of death. That might have been a bit more fun..." he muttered.
He looked, up... and noticed that a Meteor was coming towards him and the rest of the village. "Oh shi..."









The Adamanchalid made a loud noise and lashed out with a leg slamming it into the ground, causing tremors and cracks to appear, knocking anyone who was on the ground nearby off of their feet.

Linegia smirked at his comment about smelling whatever was coming as she was tackled.
"Oh, you just don't get it Omega. I knew what you were doing, I just didn't see a reason to do anything." she felt a spell being cast at her, but... it wasn't actually doing anything, Omega wouldn't be gaining any life from her. Anyone else, then yes, but not from her.
"I knew you would try to get rid of the poison somehow."
Suddenly she was flung away, heading at high speed towards the void.
With her wings still out, she opened them wide stopping just as she reached the entrance.
She then looked up.
...Meteor.
She calculated quickly... she wouldn't have cared about the village normally.#She would have just let it be destroyed, but there were L'cie tools still in it.
So... she sighed knowing that for the sake of her masters plan. She would have to intervene.
She suddenly vanished from Omega's sight, moving at high speed towards the sky and towards Meteor.
Her eyes flashed and turned white as she tapped into more of her power.
She released multiple tendrils from her dress at once and sent them out towards the giant rock in the sky impaling the blazing rock, she powered up a lot of dark magic into her sword while tapping into her concious and also melding it with light energy... an odd combination one would think for her unless that someone knew the truth...
she melded the magics until they formed a Twilight and then she released it from her sword at the meteor while pulling apart with her tendrils.
The forces collided and Meteor broke into chunks.
Then Linegia swung her sword at fast speeds again with calculated strikes making the chunks into smaller fragments.
Each fragment still falling on the village and causing unbelievable damage, but not harming any of the remaining L'cie in the village below.
A bigger chunk that she hadn't managed clear hit her. Sending her flying into the ground at high speed again where she caused another huge crater with the meteor chunk on top of her.
Suddenly that chunk blasted to bits, and again she slowly levitated out, looking relatively unscathed considering what she had just had to endure.
She looked up at Omega, her eyes still white now and her face looking like it's regular emotionless self, although to anyone that could feel it... the intent to kill coming from this little girl was coming off a bit stronger than before. "So Omega, tell me...
do you get it yet?
Why I was unharmed from your Ultima Strike?
Why Drainga wasn't working on me for you?
And why... other than the physical aspects of meteor. I'm relatively unscathed by one of the most powerful magic attacks that there is?"




OOC: Bueno asked me to take control of the Adamanchelid.
So yeah, I'm not just suddenly controlling it for no reason lol. So please regard my posts as it as being proper too.

OOC: Sorry for being so late, guys! Lack of decent internet + floor retiling + new job + getting other RP stuff done = less time for posting. Good news is, next week, I should have solid internet!

"Hey!" Leo was appalled. He was so sure he'd be able to convince Grey to stay on his side. "You're not getting away that easily, you dick!" He yelled in anger as he postured himself to ride. He revved up his own Gestalt and took off after Grey. Belias handled the rocky terrain easily, not being slowed down by any small rocks or boulders in his way. It truly was an all-terrain-vehicle. Up ahead was the first real obstacle: a boulder the size of Belias' gestalt mode. Beneath his mask, Leo scowled. He grabbed his Gunblade's handle and pulled the hammer back. He let it go and the blade-horns at the head of the ATV lit aflame. He pulled the trigger and held it, causing the horns to shift to the front. Leo thought of a ram lowering its head. The moment the blades touched the boulder, Leo pushed the Gunblade down, causing the blazing horns to go up and smash through the boulder. Orbs of fire scattered everywhere among the debris of dirt. It was Belias' Halcyon Flames attack. Leo would have grinned if Grey wasn't getting farther and farther. Damn it...His Gestalt's a freakin' motorcycle, I can't catch up! He thought, but he didn't give up.

"Really now?" Cid asked as his torso collided with Argent's blade. Cid's body refused to be cut, treating the blade like a stop instead. While the force did hurt the Crystal l'Cie, his skin rejected the blade and caused him to fly forward into the ground. He rolled and hopped into his feet, grinning and holding his chest with one hand. "I'll prove you wrong then! If you don't believe me, here's your proof!" He raised his left forearm, covered in bandages, and tore it off with his right hand. On the skin was a brand, different from Akira's and Leo's group, but identical to Lightning 's and Snow's earlier companions. It was Anima's brand. Several arrows protruded and a red eye was seen in the middle. The brand started to glow as the Adamanchelid the others were fighting faded into thin air. Guess it's either this or a monster, Cid thought, realizing his new power's boundaries. A small crystal in the shape of a glassy heart floated out of his brand and into his hand. "Here we go!" He crushed the crystal between his fingers and jumped backwards as the crystal turned into a large orb, seemingly made of water. Cid watched as the orb filled with symbols and two figures appeared, floating around it. As the orb disappeared, Cid jumped between the figures and said, "Show 'em how it's done!" As he raised his fists. On either side of him, the Shiva sisters, Stiria and Nix, looked at each other with a strange expression of reluctance until they faced forward.

 

100% magic resistance, huh? Omega sheathed Blood Sword and pulled out an opal ring from his pocket, something he keeps with him at all times ever since he bought a few and learned of their function when he was stuck in Ivalice before becoming Omega Weapon: Model XII (Or Omega Mark XII as the people there called it). Wearing the ring converted all magic into its Piercing variant, which would normally ignore the Reflect status. But as Reflect isn't a naturally occurring effect in this world, Piercing magic ignored magic resistance instead. Of course there were magic attacks he could do that naturally did this, such as Flare Star and Mass Drain, but they had their set backs. Using Flare Star would be like using Heartless Angel earlier that day, pushing him past his limits and becoming Omega Weapon: Model VI, while Mass Drain would affect the entire area and is only used as a last resort. Pulling off his left glove with his mouth, he put the ring on his middle finger and then placed the glove back on. "Now for a test..." he said to himself. With a snap of his fingers, he set off Piercing Ultima on Linegia. In the distance he felt the otherworldly presence of the Eidolons. How I would so love to join them over there, battling the Wolf and the Sisters. What fun that would be...

As soon as he touched the ground Shin leaped into the air as the turtle raised a leg to attack with Jump. But it soon disappeared before his eyes and he only hit dirt. That didn't matter now that the Twin Sisters made their appearance. Pulling his lance from the ground, Shinryu twirled it and set it out of battle mode, now using it only in defense. He knows better than to attack Eidolons. The only thing he hoped was if the others knew the same. Based from what he saw, other than Lightning, they were all still fresh and a bit naive. Grey's arrival with Fenrir didn't help to improve his opinion on them.
