Final Fantasy XIII: Slaves of Fate

Mia stood up and sighed, nodding. She touched her throat, trying to explain her current situation to him. Angel looked at her and helped Jaden stand up. Gripping her spear, Mia looked at Argent and looked away. Though trying not to be rude, she wasn't sure if she could trust him.

 

Jaden accepted Angel's help and stood up, he regarded Argent before turning his attention to the side.
He noticed Ryou outside the remains of his house and went over to help him.
"Hey... I know how it feels man." he said genuinely sympathetic. "My house is in the same state... all I have of my parents now are the memories, and these swords." he said, gesturing to Heaven and Hell on his back with his thumb.

 

Ryou hated to admit it but there was nothing to be saved, only thing he kept of his parents was the photo he awlays placed in the living room. "Guess I just have to accept that afte rall..." He trailed off, perhaps he should at least visit their gravesite, sure, he knew they were dead but somewhere within him, it made him feel at ease knowing he at least let out what he wanted to say.

 

"...This... why did 'this' have to happen?" he asked no one in particular...
Oerba was his home... Their home.
..."We who have lived here have surpassed many hardships in the past...
We'll make it through somehow. We'll rebuild."
Jaden was used to helping around the village normally, always being one to volunteer and fix things and such. "...We'll definitely make it through." he said, as he clenched a fist.

 

Mia simply stood where she was, putting her hand on Snow's bandanna. She seemed surprised that Argent didn't notice it, but she let it be. Looking around, Mia fell to her knees and cried. Her home was gone, she didn't have any parents or relatives, so she couldn't relate to how Jaden and Ryou were thinking.

 

Jaden, known to be hotheaded at times, ignored what the man in uniform just said and walked towards him slowly, arms at his side. "You could show a bit of sensitivity you know? Since it's our home that's just been burnt to the ground." he stated, not maliciously or anything, but he refused to give this guy a straight answer... something about the way he was acting just pissed him off.
That, and seeing Mia be reduced to tears and this man showing no trace of compassion... judging them for just being L'cie, something they didn't even choose to be... that pissed him off more.

 

"Hello again, Dahaka," Omega greeted the fal'Cie as he reappeared on the ground in front of it. He looked around to see the Cavalry already making their move. "I don't need to explain myself. You know why I'm here. This is classified as an attack on Pulse, as you already know. It's in my very nature to end this one way or another." He drew out his other sword and charged it with Ultima. "If everyone dies, everyone dies. I don't care if I take the blame for it. I've taken the blame for many happenings on this planet and some others. What's one more?" Omega pointed Masamune at the fal'Cie, infusing it with Ultima as well.

A few members of the Guardian Corps that were clearing out the central square tried to get Shinryu out with the other civilians, but slightly hesitated when they saw he was holding a lance. The boy looked at them coldly with his golden eyes. There's no chance of him leaving unless he got the word from Lightning. His grip on his weapon tightened. As they were soldiers he figured that they would drag him out if they had to. So as soon as one approached and placed a hand on his shoulder, Shin elbowed the officer hard in the gut and quickly turned around to impale the man in the throat, staring at the soldier in the eyes without expression or emotion. Guns were then cocked and aimed at him. Nearby civilians witnessing what he did screamed in horror. I mean, who would've expected a 15 year old kid to do such a thing in a time like this?

 

"And what if we don't?" Jaden asked.
This guy was really pissing him off... "In case you've been blind while up on Cocoon, we're also on the side of the people. Why do you think we've been training so hard?
Don't you think you should be asking about the Crystal L'cie more than asking about us?" he said like it was obvious.

 

Mia stood up and wiped her tears. She looked at him and showed him Snow's bandanna tied onto her arm, she was nervous but finally her voice returned, "Snow has been turned to crystal by the fal'Cie, Jenova. And sorry, but I'm not telling you where he is. This bandanna is all that's left." Angel looked at her and smiled.

 

OOC: I realize that. I actually just might let Shin get captured and brought to Argent.

BIC: Shin raised the soldier's body off the ground while keeping him on the lance. Though he's never used a gun before, he took his victim's weapon with his free hand and aimed it at the other members of the Cavalry behind him, using the corpse as a meatshield. Countless laser sights from their guns were all aimed at him. He never realized how many of them were there in Oerba. Did they bring in everyone? Oh. ****. Talk about facing impossible odds. But even with that, there's always a way to survive. He just hasn't found it yet.

 

The Cavalry soldiers began to approach Shin for capture, pushing him back. A nearby burning house collapsed and blocked off any possibility of backtracking. Cornered. Fight or give in; those where his current choices. And his choice? Spray and pray. In response, they fired back in light bursts. As he's never fired a gun, the recoil took him by surprise and put his balance and aim off. Only a few stray bullets actually hit any soldiers. Shin did his best to use his meatshield to take in all the fire, but he was easily overpowered. Though having the shield did help, only a couple shots to the legs and arms were enough to disable him. A final blow to the head was all that finished him off before they confiscated him and his weapon.

 

Mya grabbed Jaden's arm. Jaden, stop. I know these soldiers are treating us poorly, but you can't go off on them likethat either. Do you want the people of Cocoon against us? We fought superior rule 500 years ago. We don't need another one. Please Jaden. She glanced at Lightning. She would understand too.

 

Jaden had heard enough, "...What did you just say?...
How much of a dumbass are you?" he asked the man.
"...If it wasn't for Snow or Lightning, or the others... Then none of us would be here today. You or I, or... any of us!" he yelled at the man.
He felt Mya grab his arm and speak to him... "Tch... fine."
He gave her a small smirk as reassurance. "But only 'cause I can't say no to a pretty girl."
He then glanced back at the man in uniform, scowling at him.

 

Mia gripped her spear and lowered her head, "There should be a few others around somewhere around the village, I think two or three, maybe four." Suddenly, Mia knocked the Guardian Corps that surrounded them. She turned to Argent, aiming her weapon at him, "But I would like it if you won't speak that way about Snow or Lighting. They are great leaders, and Snow gave us a mission to tell Cocoon about the Crystal l'Cie."

 

"We've encounter at least two of them." Mia said, recalling her experiences with Freyja and Alice. "But they're so much for us to handle at the moment. It would be wise if you didn't go after them. They would probably kill you."
