Final Fantasy XIII: Slaves of Fate

Jaden watched Alice's angelic and demonic transformation. "Guess she's getting serious." he smirked.
This wasn't looking good. One Crystal L'cie could probably take on the lot of them...

Linegia felt something in the air change as Alice transformed.
If Alice lost control of herself and forgot her place... that would be bad. Their master needed these L'cie tools. She cast her eyes back to the fight between Cid and Omega Weapon...
Cid would be fine... I'll only intervene with Alice if I have to...
Of course, she also knew that Byron was close by and he'd probably be smart enough to do the same. After all, each Crystal L'cie knew that these L'cie were vital to the plans that were unfolding.

 

Mia and Angel gripped their weapons, Mia took the first strike. She ran to the transformed Crystal l'Cie, swinging her spear at her. Alice's demon claw grabbed her spear and pushed her back. Mia pushed back and was thrown back, Alice tossed the spear and it struck the ground a few feet from Mia. Angel ran toward her and attacked, but it barely hit Alice. She smiled demonically and hit Angel with her demon claw. Mia looked at her and grabbed her spear, gasping for air.

 

"My allegiance is to the planet. Our alliance is only of convenience, or did your fal'Cie not tell you this? Surely she knows by now."

Omega Weapon attacked with Tsunami, firing several aqua-colored bullets of light into the ground beneath Cid. Seconds after, the ground starts to shake violently. Enormous torrents of water then break through the rock, surging high enough to be seen for miles. Chaining to that he continued with Absolute Zero, releasing a shockwave that magically converted most of the water into liquid nitrogen and the rest of the water as large, sharp chunks of ice.

"L'Cie or fal'Cie, man or beast, god or devil, friend or foe...it matters not what or who you are. Everything will be destroyed."

 

"Naivete and innocence. Such is the mind of youth."

Leo started to groan as he clutched his chest. The arms on either side of him bent so the palms were flat on the ground. After a second of wondering what was happening, Leo saw the hands push the ground down, causing it to crack. As his body started to rise, he realized the hands weren't pushing the ground down, but pushing the rest of its body up. He knew this because he was on the head of whatever was rising out. What's going on? He thought as a heavenly female voice rang out.

A name in blood, a pact of corruption. Belias shall rise, his bond eternal and unyielding.

Leo wasn't sure if the voice was in his head or a loud, but that was completely irrelevant. He soon realized when the body reached its peak when he stopped rising. A moment later, he was rolling off backwards and hit the ground facedown with a loud thud. He let out a long groan as he started to look up.
Man and monster. Fused as one.
The first thing Leo saw was a long orangeish tuft of what he assumed to be fur. A tail? His gaze moved up to see faded blue skin, toned into muscles, and then more orange fur. On the sides, near the top, the large arms from earlier were bent as the right one slowly raised to the side, its black hand opening. Bringing his eyes to its legs, Leo noticed they were bent backwards, like an animal's, and ended in hooves. "What the...hell?" Leo muttered as he watched the figure slowly turn around, its right hand swinging high over Leo. Its front almost made Leo gasp in surprise. There was no head or face, but a bronze mask with no facial features laid in the center of the red tuft. The mask curved in large ram-like horns that had several protrusions. Its lack of a face wasn't what startled Leo, it was what was below it. A smaller body, roughly Snow's size extended from the figure's torso. It had the same mask, albeit smaller, and a human torso, albeit the same skin color as the rest of the body. Its back seemed merged into the torso of the larger figure and their heads were connected by the same red tuft. Its right hand started to enflame as it moved its gaze downward to Leo. Suddenly, the flame exploded and revealed a large staff, over twice the size of Leo. The staff was long and ended in a spearhead. Beneath the spearhead, two circular blades laid on each side. Leo suddenly realized he was staring at an Eidolon. The female voice rang out once more as Leo considered wetting himself.
Belias. The Devil Gigas.

The left side of Cid's chest started to glow, though it was hard to see due to his entire body being crystal. "Then we're on the same team then, you stubborn mutt!" Cid yelled as he raised his arm into the air, ignoring Omega's spell. "We're trying to destroy everything, you idiot! I don't give a damn who branded you, Jenova's your new fal'Cie and if you gave me a chance earlier, I would have explained!" He slammed his hand to the ground as a flood of water poured out from the hole he just made, rivaling Omega Weapon's tsunami. The water froze seconds after pouring out, but continued to pour, covering the area around them. Omega Weapon's magical combo only complimented Cid's counterattack. Deep Freeze would cover the entire area. "Silly Omega Weapon, water and ice are my new forts." Cid muttered, smiling and oblivious to the fact that he meant the word 'forte.' "It's about time to end this, Omega. Join Jenova, pledge your damn allegiance, already! You can join that Hallowed Wretch once we bring her back!" Cid was almost begging at this point, though it wasn't because he was worried about losing.

Snapshot of the future.

"Stop them, please! They're killing everybody!" The girl yelled frantically after Argent. After he left, she turned the medic, almost hysterical. "My body, it hurts so much. What happened to me?" She grabbed her sides and knelt down. When the medic approached her, she jumped up, all wounds on her body gone and a smile on her face. "You get no Focus, though you do get a task," she said cryptically as she grabbed his face, muffling his next scream.

"Oh, Mia, I have a special invitation for you to have tea with the Mad Hatter." Alice said, smiling at Mia. She flew to Mia, her demon claw aiming for her. Mia blocked the attack and glared at her. "Of course, the invitation will have to wait for awhile. And I have more for your friends. Especially that cutie in the black coat. Alice smiled and flew toward Jaden, readying her demon claw and smiling evilly.

OOC: Because of her name, expect references from Alice in Wonderland.

 

Jaden smirked, as he stood his ground and let the Crystal L'cie slam into him, him blocking her claw with his swords crossed in front of him. "I'll give you credit for one thing...
You may be bat-sh!t crazy, but you have good taste!" he yelled out as he pushed into his swords giving him momentum to leap away from her charge.
He looked over to Mya. "Hey Mya! Um... if you aren't too busy... we could always use another cute girl in this party!"

Linegia stood up.
This fight was taking too long and she was growing impatient. That and it was becoming increasingly dangerous.
These two were unleashing more and more power. Omega wouldn't care who was caught up in it, and at this stage, that could spell the end for the new L'cie.
Knowing that Cid would understand her decision, she started to walk. Their master's plan needed these L'cie tools, she couldn't let them fall this early because the stupid Weapon forgot his place.
The last thing on her mind was she hated how high and mighty Omega viewed himself as. It really pissed her off... she decided she would also be the one to put him in his place.
She stepped off the cliff without a care, and began to fall without even batting an eye lid, and suddenly, she was gone.
Her body just seemed to vanish.

"Ei-do..Eidolon?" Leo whispered in fear as he moved so he was on all fours. Lightning and Snow had told him about Eidolons and he's read about them in the books (though all of the books were going by what Lightning's group had told everyone centuries ago), and he's seen Odin and Shiva in action several times, but that was nothing compared to staring at his own Eidolon. I get my own Eidolon? He thought it with a hint of joy, though he couldn't tell why he was feeling so fearful. There was something tugging at the back of his mind as he watched his Eidolon, whose name he gathered to be Belias, stare at him with no eyes. He noticed movement and moved his gaze to his left to look at Belias' large right hand. The bladed staff was being gripped tight and raised high over his head. He even has a cool weapon, Leo thought with a sliver of a smile as that 'something' kept tugging at him. What was he forgetting? "I guess you're min-WHOA!"All of his energy quickly came back, all of the adrenaline he had lost had filled his body, and all of his pain had left his mind as he dove to the side. Belias' blade barely missed Leo as it cut into the ground, right where Leo was half of a second before. "Oh yeah, you try to kill your l'Cie first. I forgot that part," he muttered as he stood up, warily, and realized he didn't have his weapon. His eyes moved once to his right to see what Grey was facing and he gathered it was Grey's Eidolon. Things just got worse, he said as he clenched his teeth. The ground seemed to shake as Belias pulled out his weapon and turned to face Leo.

Jenny laid her camera on the nearest table, ready for Argent to find when he returned, and walked out, leaving the door wide open. She quickly ducked behind the building stealthily so no one would see her. There was the sound of feet dragging as a humanoid Cieth walked out, leaving no trace of the medic that was there moments before.


If Dahaka had the ability to smile, it would have at the exact moment when Oerba was finally in its view. Only a few more minutes...​

 

Omega Weapon groaned under Cid's attack, but held his ground. He chuckled at Cid's response.

"Fate knows all and controls all. Even our conflict now was predestined long, long ago..."

The body of the creature took on a shade of deep red, as did the battlefield. Intense magical energies burst forth from him with various tendrils breaking off and spiraling around the arena, erasing everything on contact, but that was just the start of things.

"The planet will not die simply because she wishes it to. Your fal'Cie will comply to Fate's will just as the others have done before her. Those who turn their backs on Fate...they will be forsaken."

For a moment, the entire world seemed to shake. With a single roar, the spell of myth that easily outclassed Ultima, Forsaken, was unleashed. The entire area they were fighting on became engulfed in a pillar of utter destruction that was slowly spreading outwards. No living thing, other than only this form of Omega Weapon and Shinryu, has ever seen it cast until now and there was good reason for that. The last and only other time he used this spell was against Shinryu in the final hours of the Battle in the Sea of Eden which left the Dragon weakened, but not dead. Through sheer force of will he barely managed to contain it to only the elevation he was on and higher, more or less unaffecting the l'Cie below.

As Omega continued his search in the land of dreams, he found Lightning to be there as well. Only one of two things must have happened for her to be here: She either became crystal like Snow or she simply fell asleep and drifted off here. He hoped for the best that it was the latter. As he did with Snow, he spoke a few words to her before parting. "Never forget, Lightning: Our planet's dream is not over yet. When it does, you will know..."

Shinryu was beginning to pass out from exhaustion. He didn't realize how far ahead the others have gone. They must have ran nonstop when the order was given. Setting Lightning down against the cave wall, he stopped to catch his breath and have a moment to think. It would be alright if he took a break, right? It wasn't like anything major was going on as far as he knew. Besides, this place seemed safe enough. Shin sat himself next to Lightning, falling asleep with his head on her shoulder. Moments later, the caves shook but Shin was already deep asleep and was not aware of what was happening outside.

BIC: Mya frowned at Jaden and pulled out her sword. Just cause I'm cute doesn't mean you can call em out like that lightly. I do apppreciate that compliment though. She ran up next to Jaden in her Synergist Paridigram and started by casting haste and protect on everyone.

 

"Wow! A new playmate!!!!! I'll try not to send you all down the rabbit hole at once!" Alice smiled and stared at them, deciding which of the warriors to attack. She grinned and went for Angel. Unfortunately, Angel blocked the attack and knocked her back. Alice smiled, waving her demon claw in the air and sent blasts of wind gusts at them. Smiling, Alice picked up Mia and held her by her neck. "I feel so sorry for you, for what happened to Snow at all."

 

Ren rushed at Alice, swinging a punch at her torso in an attempt to help the girl break free. He knew that a Sentinel wasn't suited to what he had attempted, but he had acted completely on instinct, with no time to think about roles before the action.

 

Mia fell to the ground when Ren punched Alice in the stomach. She reassured Angel she was alright and drank a potion to replenish herself. She stared at Alice, who pouted.

With a sigh, Alice smiled. "Really wish I could stay longer. I gotta go." With a flap of her wings, she flew out of sight. She landed next to Byron. "Byron!!!!!!! Were you watching?! Where's Linegia? I was really hoping to play with them more, but I know Jenova wants them alive."

 

"That worked?" Ren said to himself. "...huh, whad'ya know." His hand did hurt a bit from the hit, but it was lessened by him being a Sentinel. It seems that being the wrong class actually benefited him this once.

If the Oerba boy was suprised, he didn't show it. He simply looked to Alice with disinterest. "I'm not her babysitter, you know?" he answered about Linegia. "I've gotta admit it though, for a while I thought you might actually kill them anyway, Jenova be damned. You obviously could have." Byron showed a little bit more emotion with that, but what emotion was difficult to say.
"Listen, I've got something I want to do, but for it to work, I need you and the others to pretend I'm just an ordinary L'Cie for a while. Think you can talk to Cid for me?"
He was probably taking a risk by asking Alice of all people to do this, but he figured his plan would appeal to her twisted sense of fun. Time would only tell if he was right.

 

"Of course. I'm sure Cid will understand. And besides, I don't to break our master's toys." Alice smiled and flew out to Cid.

BIC: Mya ran up to Mia (Lolz). Mia! Are you alright? She switched to her Medic role in case if she was injured.

 

Mia nodded and simply rubbed her neck. She checked her arm and sighed in relief that Snow's bandanna was still in one piece. Angel looked at her curious, Mia looked back, she mouthed, 'Aren't you shamed that you are with l'Cie?' With a shake of her head, Angel moved her hands in communication, 'No, I was simply looking for you, Mia, to thank you for saving me so many years ago. I still remember that day you saved me and seeing how tough you have become makes me so happy.' 'So, for the moment, we are the same.'

Make him submit, make him submit, how the hell am I going to make him submit? Leo asked himself as he started to stand completely, aware that he was greatly injured already. His eyes moved to where his Gunblade had fallen earlier and then to Belias. Another slash and Leo found himself flat on the ground as a gust of wind roared over him; Belias had slashed horizontally. Leo quickly used his feet to push himself forward, towards his Gunblade as Belias' staff became engulfed in flame, shining like a beacon in the night. "Damn it to Heeellll," he muttered as he stood up just as Belias attacked again. This time, it was a circular horizontal slash with its blade engulfed in flame; Valkyrian Slash.. Leo only dodged it by diving forward, his hand landing on his Gunblade's handle. He somersaulted on his feet and spun around, getting into Commando. "I couldn't even kill Grey! How the hell am I supposed to fight an Eidolon? It's not fair, damn it!" He yelled angrily at no one in particular, pointing at Grey when he mentioned his name. It seemed 'Grey' was the magic word because Belias then stopped looking at Leo. In fact, the Eidolon turned to face Grey with both faces. The more humanoid and smaller torso's hands neared each other as a small ball of energy formed in. The moment Belias snapped his arms apart, the little ball flew towards Grey, ready to explode on impact.

"Damn it, what now?" Cid growled. He hadn't shown his full power yet or even revealed his second branding, but he was saving that. He braced himself as he sensed two others approaching them. "Omega, time to stop." He said calmly as he flew forward. He charged all the energy he had left in his two scythes and crossed them over his chest. His blades started to glow a dark purple, surge energy, and vibrate in his hands as he moved. He let out a loud yell every time a tendril hit him, but he didn't stop. He was strong enough to live through the attack and he had his sights on Omega. "I said STOP!" He reached the Weapon and slashed both blades, releasing a large amount of dark magic in his cross slash. I don't care if I lose this fight, but I'm stopping you! He thought as he growled again. Cid didn't know the extent of Omega's powers, but he did know that he would revert to normal if defeated. Even if he all he could do was weaken him, the other two Crystal l'Cie should handle him. "Damn, I was hoping to keep this between us," he muttered as he kept pouring dark magic into his blades.

 

Jaden sat on his behind and Mya helped heal Mia, while Mia herself was having a silent conversation with the new Angel girl.
"Sheesh... I get the feeling they're just messing with us." he said.
"But oh well, no biggie, just means we have to get stronger so we can be the ones messing with them."

Linegia appeared behind Cid from seemingly nowhere, and unleashed her own Tendrils. They emerged from her dress, the exact same shade of purpley black and they slammed into Omega's interlocking with them and thus stopping them from their barrage on Cid, giving him some breathing room and extra time to focus on his next attack.
"Cid, I know you can handle this yourself, but I can tell... Omega is holding his attacks back so they don't go out of control and wipe out the 'tools', but he is barely managing to do it.
Time is of the essence. I apologise.
You better than anyone know that we cannot let that happen for the sake of our Master's plan."
Omega's tendrils were gaining a little ground on her, so she summoned some more of her own and interlocked them to get them into a stalemate.
The fact was, she hadn't even gone into her crystal state yet, and she wasn't planning to. This should be enough to give them the time and space that Cid needed to finish things his own way.
Further more, she could feel Alice approaching at high speed.
