Final Fantasy XIII: Slaves of Fate

"Oh!!!!! New playmates!!!!! Yay!!!!!!! Both are really cuties!!!!!!!!!!!" Alice smiled as she saw Jaden and Ren. She looked at Mia, who was standing in her fighting stance. "Why the silence treatment, Mia? I think you did something really naughty at the tower. Taking a item that wasn't yours. I bet that Snow Villers doesn't like you anymore. And after making such a touching promise."

Mia ran toward her and slashed at Alice, but her attack was blocked by Alice's bow. She jumped after and readied herself for a attack. She and the woman watched as Alice took out a arrow and loaded her bow, aiming at them. They separated when the arrow was fired and Mia looked to see the arrow sticking out of the place where she once stood. Mia placed her hand on Snow's bandanna and silently prayed to beat this strange girl.

 

Jaden at last made it to the new people and Mia. He panted for a second and then he immediately put himself between them. "Woah woah! Chill out! Why do such cute girls have to fight?" he mumbled to them as he shrugged.
He stood near Mia, "You okay?" he asked her, as he observed the new arrivals.
A girl with a weapon like Vanille from the legends, she seemed friendly enough since she seemed to have been helping Mia before hand.
The girl with the bow... she was... well had been attacking Mia moments before... but... maybe it was a misunderstanding? ...highly unlikely.
Then, a new guy... dropped by the wyvern that had disappeared into thin air... just like Cid's had done that time before... Suspicious definitely.

Byron had been right in his assumption.
And had been right not to care either, as she said nothing and didn't even acknowledge his leaving.
Now the hill featured only the lone 8 year old girl, dressed in Gothic style clothing.
She had on her no crystal like features, and if anything; especially since she appeared to be a child, no one would ever guess that she was in fact a Crystal L'cie.
The only thing that might give her away would be her murderous intent... however, she had grown adept at hiding that and adopting the visage of a defenceless child when she had to infiltrate places at the orders of her master that were of a more 'normal' manner... such as Cocoon.
She despised Cocoon... and it's people. She despised life... what was life? Was she even worthy of being called living? Whatever...
She sat down where she was and hugged her knees as she continued to watch Cidolfu and the Omega Weapon, no expression showing on her face, the only movement being made were that of her eyes following the battle.

 

Mia nodded at Jaden and looked at the girl with the bow. 'Who are you?' she mouthed, for whatever reason, something about this girl was bad news. It seemed as though she was getting pleasure of fighting against her. Mia wondered how she knew about Snow, their promise, or the fact she took Snow's bandanna. She gripped her spear and pointed at her.

"Oh, how very silly of me! My name is Alice. I just happen to watch the branding of you guys from Jevona. I didn't like all the fuss you made about Snow turning crystal. You do know he was crystal before." Alice smiled as she looked at them. "I was just so eager to come out and play with you!!!!"

 

"I'll just help myself up then." Ren said loud enough for the other L'Cie to hear. He dragged himself to a standing position, dusting himself off in the process. He took a breif moment to take in the features of the others, and then shook the last of the dust off of himself. "And now it's official; I hate flying." He glanced again at one of the group, the loudmouthed one who he'd heard speak before. He seemed to be almost glaring at him for some reason. Make's sense I guess. Being dropped in by a dragon isn't the best way to gain trust.

Byron, still concealed from the L'Cie, stayed silent and watched. The white-haired boy that Cid had delivered seemed to have already triggered a nerve in one of the others, and the only other thing worthy of note was one of the girls of the group being bothered by...
Alice. Somehow, I'm not suprised. he thought to himself, recognising the Crystal L'Cie not so much by appearence, but by her actions. His plan had been to infiltrate the group, but Alice's being there would definitely interfere, if her reputation was anything to go by. He remained hidden, allowing the events to unfold as they willed.

 

OOC: Glaring at him? Triggered a nerve?
Jaden was just looking at every new arrival.. he wasn't doing anything else in particular, he views Ren as suspicious for having been dropped off by one of Cid's wyverns, but he wouldn't be glaring at him. Also, he's more distracted by the events around Mia at the moment to have had a nerve triggered by a guy he doesn't know anyway.

BIC:

Jaden nodded at Mia's nod and then looked at Alice.
"Well, if you know Jenova by that name... then you must be a crystal L'cie?" Jaden asked, having quite quickly put two and two together.
"And the way you disregard and talk trash about Snow, when you can see how much he means to all of us." he clenched a fist in front of him and held it out. "Yes... very silly of you." he smirked.
He looked at Mia and gave her another nod, pulling out his katana. "Well, you wanna play with us... then let's play."
He knew Mia wouldn't reject his coming to help her. Even if they were L'cie now... fighting a Crystal L'cie would be too much for one L'cie alone... even with 2 of them and this other new girl with the Vanille staff like weapon (if she so chose to help), things still would be pretty tough.

 

"Okay, than!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't played in so long!!!!!" Alice smiled as she loaded her bow. "And you were so right! I am a Crystal l'Cie, but I don't care for old geezers who call themselves for no apparent reasons. Besides, he probably won't find his sweetheart anyway. And what's the girl who wants to be like that odd Vanille?" Alice gasped as Mia came running toward her.

Mia slashed at Alice's stomach, but she jumped back. Alice shot at her when the girl came up and knocked the arrow away. Mia looked at her before jumping over her and attacked Alice. The girl put her rod down and moved her hands in a way of communication. 'My name is Angel. Please let me fight with you.' 'Very well, then.' Mia mouthed, and attacked Alice.

 

OOC: I know that Bushy, but those are my character's perceptions. With how long you and I have RP'd together, you know that's how I do things.
BIC:

Ren witnessed the confrontation brewing between some of the L'Cie and this new girl, who had been called out on being a Crystal L'Cie. He watched and listened as the loud one spoke about somebody called 'Snow'. He had heard that name before, hadn't he? But where, he couldn't quite recall.
To hell with it. If I'm going to be helping these guys with their focus, I might as well start helping now.
He ran to the side of the loud one and his allies, drawing his gun from it's holster as he did.
"I might not know all of what's going on here, but if you're a Crystal L'Cie, you're no friend of mine." Ren stated matter-of-factly to the girl as he assumed a battle-ready stance.

 

Hmm... if Cid bought him here... it could be that this guy is like us and has just been thrown into the loop like we are.
Jaden smirked. "'preciate the help." he then charged forwards.
He weaved around Mia and backed up her attacks with his own. He then used launch and threw her into the air, before jumping up after her and using smite to smash her back down to earth. Although... it didn't seem to have much effect against the Crystal L'cie. Somehow... he got the feeling she was taking it easy on them.

 

"I never said you and I were friends, gun-boy. And I am curious about what Cid has planned, having his wyvern bringing you here!!!!!! Though, it is unfair that it's four against one, I hope to have lots of fun!!!!!!" Alice said, loading her bow. As she shot her arrow, the arrow seemed to become encased in water. She smiled as Mia had a look of shock on her face.

 

Ren saw the arrow and leaped in front of it, instinctually shifting into his Sentinel paradigm. He threw up his arms, still not fully sure that taking the hit would work. As the arrow and its surrounding magic impacted him, a thin, silver field took the brunt of it's force, though taking the hit had still definitely hurt. Ren instantly recognised what he had done from the tales of the last well-known L'Cie.
That was a Steelguard... I really am a L'Cie now...


Byron continued to watch as the white-haired lad took the force of Alice's arrow. For a newly-branded L'Cie, that's not too bad. he mused to himself, wondering how much of Alice's brand of 'fun' the young L'Cie warriors would be able to take before keeling over. He wasn't sure of what Alice would do if it got to that point, but he knew that the L'Cie were no good to Jenova dead.

 

Alice didn't seem impressed with Ren's move, but smiled. "Please, don't make me yawn. You call this your revenge for Snow? I want to have some real fun!" Suddenly, a pair of wings came out of Alice's back and her form changed into a beautiful angelic being. In contrast to Alice's new angelic form on her right hand was a demonic claw. "Now than, lets play, l'Cie."

 

"I would not be a weapon if I could simply be poisoned, l'Cie. Nor would I be if I fell to any other ailment."

As the scythe blade bounced off his skin, causing little damage, Omega Weapon countered back with Freezing Dust. Sub-zero temperature breath was unleashed, freezing everything solid but leaving the target(s) generally unharmed. But that was just a reflex. His real attack, which followed directly after while accompanied by a loud roar, would be Meteor. Unlike what was seen at the tower, this one came down fast and just as accurate.

Shin heard the sound of ice forming behind him, but he didn't look back. He dared not to look back. Giving in to curiosity just gives the enemy an opening to strike. He quickened his pace, using his lance for extra support and momentum. Although still faint, the sounds of the other group's battle grew louder. It seems they were just up ahead.

 

"Naivete and innocence. Such is the mind of youth."

Great. There was no groan, no scream of pain, no profane word, just silence as Leo stumbled past Grey. The diagonal cut across his chest was pouring out blood (though his shirt remained in one piece because that's how video games work) as the would-be hero turned around to face Grey before falling onto his back. I couldn't save Snow in the end... the pain from his back hitting the hard earth didn't even nudge the boy as the night sky filled his vision. Couldn't defeat the Freyja girl, I couldn't stop Grey from defecting... Leo's arms were spread, giving him a crucified appearance as he laid. Even as a l'Cie, he's better than me. I can't defeat him, damn it! Leo felt his eyes start to water. He tried to lift his arm, but his body wouldn't move. "What now, Grey? What the hell are you going to do now?" He said it quietly and calmly as he felt tears stream down his face. I'm such a freaking failure.

Cid braced himself for the icey weather, but grinned and roared in laughter. "No ailments, eh? How about a Doomsday, then!" He threw a glowing hand into the air to summon his attack. Just as quick as the Meteor came down, several smaller chunks of extraterristial debris showered down from the sky. It was a risky move; Cid's Doomsday was meant to slow down and weaken Omega Weapon's Meteor. Cid didn't have to worry about a weakened Meteor hitting him, he wouldn't even defend himself since it wouldn't fatally injure him. But the Doomsday had a second purpose: to rain down small meteoroids on the area surrounding the caster. "I'm ready to go Kamikaze with you, Omega!" Cid yelled with a grin as he flew forward, both blades slashing as they glowed blue with ice.

Snapshot of the future.

As soon as they entered the building where the girl would be held, her camera slipped off her neck and hit the floor. The girl was unconscious and failed to see what happened next. The impact to the floor turned the camera on and caused it to project its contents onto the wall. The picture that showed up was on its side, as was the camera. It revealed Lightning Farron, a sinister grin on her face as her skin glistened like glass in the sunlight. In the background, Oerba was clearly seen, set aflame. On the ground, at Lightning's feet, laid a little boy's body, blood covering his corpse. Next to Lightning, Leo Zealot held up a woman by her neck as his body also glimmered. His hands were glowing red as a spell was caught in the picture. Rushing towards the picture were Oerba Kun Akira and Mya Tayes, their skin glassy as ice and their Gunblades drawn.







Dahaka realized it was headed straight towards the group of l'Cie. Was that where Shinryu and Lightning were heading? The fal'Cie gave up its search and turned around, retracing its 'steps.'

"Go destroy yourself if you so desire. Your attacks are nothing compared to the crushing power of the Void, where all existence returns to nothing. And if I overcame even that..."

Omega Weapon's eyes glowed with a yellow light before they released a harmless wave of energy capable of shattering minds in a flash. Unless one had the mental willpower to overcome it, Mind Blast can and will paralyze, daze, and confuse the opponent.

"What are you to me?"

 

OOC: Yea imma pretend I know what's going on and stay in the background or something...:<

 

OOC: xD heartless_angel, you can at least just "pop in" and join the fight between Alice and the other l'Cie?
BIC:

"Find Jenova? And do what?" Leo asked quietly, though the answer didn't matter. "Join her? Ask her for more power so you can destroy Cocoon that much easier?" His voice started to rise with each word as the center of his chest started to tingle. "If I die here, I'll come back as a ghost and kill you, Grey. I ****ing swear it," Leo closed his eyes tight as his brand began to glow orange. "If I become a Cieth, I will use every last fiber of sorrow and regret to hunt you down," his chest was now hurting and the young blonde opened his eyes, a new sense of determination in his teared-up eyes. "If I live, I will make sure that it's my Heretic, my Gunblade, my weapon that cuts you down." Suddenly, a circle of orange light appeared on the ground, covered in strange symbols with Leo's body right in the middle. "If you become a Crystal, then as a ghost, Cieth, l'Cie, or human, I will shatter you myself. I swear to Pulse, Lindzei, Etro, and even Jenova herself that I WILL FIND A WAY TO KILL YOU, GREY AETERNA!!" The pain was too much as he yelled the final words at the top of his lungs. His right hand finally found the strength to move and clutched his chest, where his brand was, as it burned unbearably. Leo started to scream as two large black hands broke out from the ground on either side of Leo, each palm as large as Leo's torso and each finger complete with a claw. The hands started to come out, revealing a tuff of red fur around the wrists, then a gold wristband, and finally dark blue muscle as the arms started to show themselves.

By the grace of Etro, scorch and shake the earth. Come forth, scion of darkness.

"Damn it!" Cid yelled it as he stumbled forward. His eyesight both blurred and brightened as the Daze alone affected him, but it only lasted a moment as his wings sprouted and his arm changed to a claw. Within the moment, Cid was back in top shape. He dropped his chain scythe, no longer desiring to use it and looked at Omega Weapon. "What am I to you? I thought I was your ally, but I see now that's false. I'm no regular Crystal l'Cie, Omega, I'm the true herald of Jenova!" He raised his claw back as it started to glow a light blue, a new spell forming. "I'll be damned if I let you ruin the plan. Too many thousands of years have been used. So Weapon, choose your freakin' side already!"

Snapshot of the future.

"Crystal...l'Cie," the girl mumbled as she came to her senses. "Lightning...and Snow, from the stories...they're alive! But...they're Crystal..." she looked at Argent, her wounds overtaking her and her breath heavy. "They're building an army...they destroyed Oerba!" Tears poured down her eyes as she told the Calvary commander what she saw.






Dahaka looked down at the fight between Crystal l'Cie and the regular l'Cie, its shadow passed over them. Of course, it wouldn't involve itself as it was of status above the Crystal l'Cie and couldn't care less about the regular l'Cie. Instead, it flew north towards Oerba, its order clear in mind.

OOC: But it sounds wierd D8 Ill just stay as a useful plot device for anyone that need it :/
