Final Fantasy XIII: Slaves of Fate

Noah watched as the gigantic beast rose into the apex of the tower looking on with a mixture of amazement and pure unbridled fear. "Whoa...He's cool, I don't have to fight him do I?" Noah was at a loss and was waiting for instruction.

OOC: Short post is sooooooooo short....

 

" Indeed your suspicions are accurate, I have been waiting to observe the same from you, to see if you can be put to the test."
Freyja said as she walked calmly along, almost as if she were on a morning stroll. But all the sudden in a flash she zapped out of view and appeared floating in the air behind her, instead of shooting, Freyja tried to hit the girl with the side of her gun's barrel in back of Mia's head. It seemed Freyja was toying with her like a cat with a mouse more then a actually attack.

 

Lightning glared at Grey, her patience wearing thin, "Shut up! Without those guardians we don't stand a chance against a Fal'Cie at full health!" Anima had been different, he was weak and Light had been pissed. Dahaka could fly. Lightning weighed the chances of them all getting out of there alive. Slim, but she'd make them stay alive. "Dammit, spread out! Limit Dahaka's range of attack!" She watched Akira do as she said without hesitation and smiled at the young girl before casting four Ruin's at Dahaka.

 

The fal'Cie. He remembered them quite clearly. Some even died by his hand simply because they were in his way. The fal'Cie that resided here used to be Dahaka, but he was nowhere to be seen at the moment. Shinryu looked down sighed. So much time has passed, he didn't know anything about the world anymore. For example, who or what was this Lightning? Very soon, Dahaka's roar echoed from outside. He looked around to see where it came from.

Upon noticing Dahaka, Omega returned to reality. "He's at the top," he said. Then he turned to Shinryu and handed him the Dragoon Lance. "Take it. You still remember how to use it, right?" he asked, "I'm going back up. Stay here. If you see a girl with pink hair and a gunblade or a guy in tan trenchcoat wearing a hat, go with them. Don't wait for me." With that, he left Shinryu and took off for the front exit. Even with all of their manpower, Lightning and Snow stand no chance against two fal'Cie. Besides, I need them alive. A little fight with them wouldn't hurt, though. As soon as he got outside, drawing both Masamune and Blood Sword, he looked up at the apex and flew towards it.

BIC: Mya stared at Daharka. Isn't that supposed to be dead? You killed it a few hundred years ago right? All she learned was that this fal'ce was blocking Lightning's party to Oreba last time they fought it. Mya steadied her gunblade, ready for any sudden movements.

 

Mia dodged and aimed the blade of her spear at Freyja's neck. "Did you really think a move like that would work? I thought the Crystal I'Cie were supposed to be a lot stronger than that. Unless, of course, you're just try to toy with me?"

 

" Now that is more like it. You might turn out to be fun after all."
Freyja said looking strangely unafraid of the spear pointed at her neck.
" Yeah, sort of like that, it would be no fun if I just blew you to pieces now. I just want to see how fragile you really are is all ,so I can make sure I don't go breaking you on the first try."
She replied with a small smirk as she gribbed the spear just behind the head of it and she began to lift it upwards with such strength that it lifted Mia at least five feet off the ground and then with one quick movement Freyja spun around in circles almost like a top while pulling Mia through the air along with her and sent her flying about twenty feet away from her at a deadly momentum. To Mia it would be like being thrown from a moving vehicle.

 

Snow quickly ran forward, towards Jenny and Dahaka, as the emblem signifying Save the Queen appeared on his back. "We don't have time to find the guardians!" Snow yelled at Lightning as he entered his Sentinel role. He wasn't sure if they could defeat Dahaka without their old friends or without help from the guardians, but he wasn't going to let Dahaka take Grey, Akira, and Mya, so he did what he did best: protect them. "Come on!" He yelled as he used Challenge, trying to catch Dahaka's eyes.

"No, no," Jenny told Noah, still smiling. "Dahaka's my sweet pet. He's just here to do some...persuading," she watched as Dahaka set his sights on Snow. Dahaka swung his tail around and slammed it at Snow, but Snow's forearms took most of the damage. "You're just here to protect me for now," she assured Noah. "They will soon be your allies, whether they like it or not."

Cid stood in place as Jaden fell from the air, slamming his Katanas. He raised a single arm and Jaden's blade made contact with the area above his wrist. Instead of being cut, his skin stopped the blade. His arm started to crystallize, resembling glass. "We're not here to fight you, boy. And if we were," Cid grinned as the glass spread to his face and stopped, his face half-crystallized and his arm completely, "You wouldn't last a minute."

"Mia!" Leo yelled as he dove forward in an attempt to catch Mia. Unfortunately, she was thrown with such strength that Leo just ended up flying backwards with her at his chest. "AH!" He yelled as they flew and dropped his Gunblade through the air as it clanged off the ground.

 

Lightning prayed they could do this without everyone from before and like Snow said, without the guardians. "Fine, have it your way!" She took up a position beside Snow, her gunblade switched to it's blade form as she covered it in lighting and ran and jumped to strike Dahaka.

Akira moved up beside Snow, trying to follow Light, but she couldn't use magic. "What do we do? How can we fight such a thing!?"

Jenny quickly noticed the presence of someone. She had noticed it upon arriving with Omega, but he had slipped her mind when Lightning's group arrived. "You there!" She said, pointing towards Ryden's hiding spot, "Show yourself at once."

 

Ryden tensed up when he heard Jenny yell out for him to step out. "Damn... found out..." He stepped out of his hiding spot nearby with his blades in hand.

 

Noah smiled happily and nodded in aknowledgement and partial relief "Ok good, I can defend you no problem! If anyone tries to hurt you they'll pay!" Noah watched as the group mobilized around Dahaka, "I don't even know who i should root for, Go Dahaka! Go Team!"

When Jenny called to the person in hiding Noah's head snapped to where she looked "An enemy? I got this." Upon saying that he stepped in front of her with his arm's out in a defensive stance becoming immediately hostile, "You better not be here to cause trouble mister!" he called over to the man.

 

"Tch, I have no intention of fighting anyone" Ryden wasn't even looking at Noah or Jenny, "I'm only here out of a sheer sense of curiosity, friend or foe doesn't apply to me as I am neither"

 

Noah immediately let go of his hostility and started scratching his head, utterly confused "Huh? What does that mean? If you are not here to hurt Miss Jenny then you must be a friend!" Noah called out happily laughing despite the current chaos going on around him. Noah clearly didn't understand too much about the world as everything to him appeared black or white, never inbetween.

 

Ryou saw Mia being thrown back with surprisingly relative ease and Leo did his best to catch her but ended up falling back as well when Jaden was easily blocked but then Ryou heard the I'Cie's words.

"They're not here to fight...?" Ryou thought about that answer, it was true they wouldn't last even a second against these two yet the I'Cie was saying he wouldn't strike them down. "We did attack first so it's only natural they would defend themselves..." Ryou concluded and kept his hand on his katana, right now he was the only one standing for the moment and fighting two enemies with that kind of strength was near to impossible.

"So what is your purpose for being here if not to fight?" Ryou asked calmly, Leo's gunblade was nearby so he could probably use it to at least block an attack from both of them since his training with his katana made use it ambidextrously but he always prefered it in his right hand as it felt more natural.

"Heh... not a minute you say?" Jaden asked Cid with a grin. "Heh! Booya! I'd just love to see that!"
"Ryou!" Jaden yelled out as he bounced back from Cid's crystallised arm and charged forwards again unleashing multiple slashes with his twin Katana, not caring if they would be blocked or not.
"I'm not the smartest guy around, I know! But if they aren't here to fight, they must be stalling for something! They clearly don't want us to get to Cocoon!"
He continued his relentless assault, as he noticed Leo and Mia get sent flying off somewhere. "So do exactly what these ****ards don't want! Get out of here now! Finish the mission!" he glanced back at Ryou with a semi-serious look on his face. But gave a grin all the same. "Be the hero!"
He focused all his attention on Cid again.
Jaden could tell from the moment his sword first made contact with the Crystal l'cie that he wouldn't be able to win. Jaden knew that he himself, was merely bluffing... but he had to try and at least distract this guy long enough to give the others a chance, even then odds were slim...
After all, there was the other l'cie Mia was up against..
He was normally the joker, but this was one of the times were he couldn't afford to kid around.

Mia got up, using her spear for support, and looked at Freyja. "What is it you two want? If you're not here to fight, than what are you here? We have something very important to do that Snow told us. I'll be rather pissed if we don't complete it."

 

As Omega neared the peak, the sounds of the battle grew fiercer. Dahaka's tail also became clearer as well. There you are. Now with his target in sight, he increased his speed. Right as he flew past Dakaka's tail, he made a single, clean swing through a weak point in the fal'Cie's tail with the Blood Sword. Omega then flipped over Dahaka and hovered over the group. He pointed Masamune at the fal'Cie, calling down a rain of three comets onto it. After that Omega gently landed between the heroes and Jenny, glancing over to her. "Another one?" he complained upon seeing Noah.

Shinryu nodded at Omega's instructions. He took hold of the Dragoon Lance and stared at it with a reminiscing look. Though only using it for a year, having his hands on it again brought back all his memories and experience using it.

 

"You don't understand," Ryden told him with his back turned to him and his arms crossed, "Just because I don't mean to hurt you or your friend does not mean that I will affiliate myself with you... Though from the looks of it, you don't even understand a word that's coming out of my mouth, huh?" Ryden leaned backwards to look at Noah.
