Final Fantasy XIII: Slaves of Fate

Ryou looked at Leo. "Right, then that's our plan to start off with." Ryou said as he headed out of Oerba with hsi daito sheathed as he thought about it, Taejin's Tower was built to accomendate fal'cie that aided Light's group before against another fal'cie as now, only monsters native to Gran Pulse lived there, but this would be their first time going there as Light and Snow prefered to be close to Oerba as a fallback.

"Only us three though, makes it almost a challenge." He said as he chuckled a bit at that, it was also showing Light and Snow's trust within them to tell Cocoon of the danger which was also an important task.

 

Lightning glowered at Snow, he was always so upbeat and happy. Brother-in-law or not, he got on her nerves often. "Hmph, survive and we'll see if anything is my treat." She glanced back at their home and remembered how happy and sad Fang and Vanille had been when they'd returned. Glancing at the crystal tower, she wondered if they realized what was happening. Tugging Akira along behind her, Light started down the path of their journey.

 

With a smile as big as ever on his face he took note of his two new friends "Hey I'm Noah" he said to the woman slightly shy before transfixing his gaze on the summoning in front of him "Whoa you must be powerful mister I wonder if ill ever be that strong" he said as he monkey flipped onto the back of the beast patting it on the head warmly "Thanks for the lift buddy hahahahahaha"

 

Realizing who she was, or more like who was possessing her, Omega remarked back. "And since when did you start to believe that I actually thought you died? It makes a good excuse for your...'disappearance', shall we say?" He suppressed most of the rage that was let loose and returned to his calmer self, but still very pissed off. "You were supposed to guard Shinryu from anyone who would disturb him. But instead you ran off after being defeated by both the Menhirrim and a group of wandering l'Cie," he reminded her as he strolled around the apex. Masamune had been drawn at this point. The blade had an eerie, yet beautiful green glow to it as an Ultima spell had been infused within it only moments before. The tower shook once again, harder this time. "Guess it's gonna start all over again," Omega complained with a sigh. Guys...I really need you here right now. If Shinryu truly is awake...then everything... he thought to himself.

 

Mia cracked her knuckles and headed out with Leo and Ryou to Taejin's Tower. "I've only seen the tower from afar during my training. Back then, I would always gaze at the crystal tower in the distance. I wonder what Snow and Lighting thought when they often stared at the crystal tower.........."

 

"Who knows, that's for them to think about." Ryou said as he heard Mia's words as he walked alongside Leo as he looked at the tower. "But it's Light and Snow, Snow would probably quickly charge on and change the subject as he is a hero." Ryou said as he had to laugh lightly, the guy was almost like a big child to everyone but he'd turn serious and determined when need be.

"And Light is...Light." He said simply, nothing really summed up Lighting, she was just herself, strong willed and prefers to keep going forward to learn her answers, Ryou found it a bit odd but as he trained in swordsmanship, he sort of developed a sense of what the opponent's emotions or if they talked through their swords, but Ryou always learnt faster just by basic steps and adapted into the difficult stages with ease, as Lighting once said, he was one of the learn-as-you-go person, reckless but it's also an advantage to make a counterattack on the spot and as well as grasp on their fighting technique and adapt to it.

"I couldn't tell what Omega is planning, it's almost as if...he didn't put any effort into it." Ryou thought even though he was almost at death's door taking a Ruinga full force without any I'Cie benefits, but it just shown that the human's will to live against all odds was truly a force that humanity always had behind them.

 

Mia walked behind them, thinking about what Snow told her. "Snow's always so carefree....... I never understood that guy. But he did help me see that not everyone from Cocoon is bad. I have to keep the promise he and I made, so I can learn more about Fang and Vanille." She sighed and hummed something.

 

Freyja nodded quietly as she seemed to pounce up into air as if there was some sort of unseen set of steps floating nearby and then she found a perch on the back center of the creatures neck and sat silently, staring over at the unfamiliar little punk without a word as she fastened everything on her utility belt to make sure it was going to stay.
" Shall we get going? I don't want to be unfashionably late to the party."

 

"Whatever. Might as well check anyway. It wouldn't be the first time this was a false alarm."

With that Omega walked to the elevator. Stepping through the clear membrane, the elevator was called up. "Enjoy your life," he said to her before he went in. Or what's left of it, he thought. While in the elevator, he let loose the Ultima that was within the blade. The entire top of the tower became engulfed by an explosion of pure destructive magic. As it shook the tower, Omega chuckled.

Personality: He is usually withdrawn, keeping to himself whenever he's with other people. He is very polite and respectful even in battle, going as far as not to hit someone when their backs are turned. However, if he is provoked enough, he will relentlessly strike down someone without realizing it.
Biography: Ryden doesn't really speak to anyone or have any friends at all. He was abandoned as a child and never really knew how to interact with other people. He is extremely intelligent, able to hack any device and retrieve any data from it. He drifted around from place to place, not having any place to call a home. When it comes to fighting, he is somewhat gifted, using two swords he found laying around in combat.

Ryou heard Mia's words, he did recall from a story he tells the children of Oerba about himself, Light and few other people, Fang and Vanille were a part of it as Ryou thought back about it, They weren't really remembered in Oerba since Light and Snow came and 400 years passed so it was very unlikely they'd be remembered, but from what Light and Snow said about them, Fang was a reckless warrior who'd protect her family no matter what and Vanille was a kind woman but lied to herself and the others. Mia could be considered a reflection of Fang from those stories, the lance was just not a surprise.

"Well, did you believe that Light and Snow were from 400 years ago?" He asked Mia as he realised he called Lighting by her request, Light, he had to guess he'd started to find it easier than saying Lighting ever so often.

 

"I believed it, but I just didn't believe them." Mia told him. "Snow did have a point, I guess I was just embracing my Oerba heritage and hated Cocoon for no reason. But why did they disappear for such a long time?" Mia still didn't understand why Jenny seemed so important to Snow.

bic: Lightning stared at the Tower. Since it wasn't that far from Oerba she knew it wouldn't take that long to get there, it was just the journey in the Tower that she dreaded. Though they'd been protected from the fal'Cie on their last journey through there, those statues wouldn't work as well as they had before. She pulled out the knife her sister had given her and flicked it open and closed, I can't believe 400 years have passed since I last saw Serah. She has to be alive, but how... She refused to give up on her sister but things were taking too long for her taste and she felt like time really had stopped for them. If she didn't loose her edge and grow old, she was sure her brand would start to change again. Their breif time as Cieth she felt a horrible sadness in her and she didn't want to go back to that ever. Light tucked her knife away and looked to Snow, "You have a battle plan don't you? Going in there guns blazing isn't really a plan, Snow."

Jennny couldn't help but scowl as she looked around. The apex of the tower shook, but took no visible damage. However, the explosion caused the tower to fill with smoke."Omega, my darling, have you not figured it out yet?" She whispered to herself as she walked through the smoke. Despite the smoke being too thick to see anything, she avoided every obstacle in her path. "You are my tool. I use you as I see fit," she stopped walking just as the smoke began to clear. She had reached the edge and only a golden gate-like railing stood between her and a long fall. She took a deep breath as her eyes started to glow green. "Omega," her voice echoed throughout the massive tower, accompanied by a distorted echo. "This tower is tied to me in ways you cannot begin to comprehend. I shall not let my own weapon damage it." Jenny smiled, knowing Omega could hear her if he was still in the tower. "This tower will not fall once again. If you value the life of your siblings," A chuckle interrupted her statement, "then you will carry out your Focus. Do not cross me again." Her eyes stopped glowing as her voice regained its normal sound level, quiet enough for only her to hear. "Now...I wait for my weapons to bring more tools to my disposal." Another roar from Dahaka rang through the tower, but the fal'Cie was still nowhere to be seen.

"Guns blazing? Of course not," Snow chuckled as they reached Taejin's Tower. "I go in fists flying!" His cocky attitude still failed to falter. Snow looked up and lost his smile, however, once he saw how Taejin's Tower has changed. "Hey...It wasn't always this big, right?" He thought he could see smoke in the distance, but wasn't sure as the tower had to be at least five times as tall as he remembered it.

Leo shook his head at Snow. The tower was large and it had fascinated him when he was younger, but he was used to the sight. "From what we learned in school, it was torn apart centuries ago, even before your time," Leo recounted, unsure of what exactly happened to Snow and Lightning in there. The apprentices didn't know the details of the l'Cies' adventure. "Fal'Cie have been rebuilding it for decades after the Sanctum ordered them to. It was finished...I don't know, before I was even born." Leo looked up. He suddenly remembered how he was taught the tower grew from 7 floors to 43 after it was rebuilt. "But the elevators work. I don't think any monsters are there anymore, you should be able to just go straight up," he pointed up. In mere minutes, they would split up.


"As long as I have a want. I have a reason for living. Satisfaction is death."

Cid ignored Noah as he, Freyja, and Noah neared Taejin's Tower's apex. They were so high in the sky, they must have appeared as a mere bird from the ground. Suddenly, Cid's ears picked up a large Boom!And smoke filled the apex. "What was that?" He growled. Moments later, they were mere feet over the apex and a brunette in a jacket was standing near them, but her back was too them. That's her appearance now? Cid wondered as he grabbed Noah and dropped him from the winged beast. It wasn't a long fall, but the boy probably wouldn't land on his feet. "Ready to meet your maker?" Cid asked Freyja as he motioned for her to get off as well.​

 

Ryden looked around the tower with a curious eye, seeing the smoke from the apex. "What was that?"

 

Her words rang into his head as Omega was in the elevator. The chuckle turned into a all-out laugh. "You're telling me that you are Hallowed Pulse? The Maker? I highly doubt it." Omega soon stops and returns to his usual tone. "Now if you said Lindzei, that I would've believed. You seem the type to take four year olds in as Crystal l'Cie. Lindzei or Pulse, if you are who you say you are you should know who I'm talking about. He should look around...14 now if he wasn't a dragon. I'll see soon enough." The melody of the elevator's song as it descended blocked out all other sounds soon after and left him to his thoughts.
