How could I forget? If I was Tidus, I would have skipped Yuna and went straight for the cougar.

B'aw, the FFX convo died down, and I who was having so much fun D:

Well, what I would have gotten too if it had continued: To give FFX some credit, it had some very nice music, standard of the series but I'd say it was better than most of the games. The cutscenes were also really nice and striking, especially the CGI ones.

    Oh well, next time then ;-;

Yeah we're talking about the same game. I just meant that gambits helped a lot during most of the later boss battles because it prevents screw ups, allows you to multi-task more easily(which you do a lot), and it keeps you from doing the same thing over and over again which gets very tedious. Sure, the bosses change strategies every now and then but it's always nice to have a gambit that heals you constantly, or one that uses a Remedy when you need it, or another one that attacks the smaller enemies that keep on getting in the way.

FOOLS! You face the mightiest warrior in all IVALICE! You face me! GILGAMESH!!! Long have I sought the blade of legend, SCOURED have I the furthest marches, East and West, and now my search brings me here, to YOOOUUU!! YOUR WEAPONS ARE FORFEIT TO MEEE!!!

P.S - All the FFXII fans makes me a happy guy C:

    Yea I agree

I don't see why people don't like that game. I mean I may not see it because its the very 1st FF game I've ever played. So I guess if I were to play all of them which includes the ones for handhelds. I would see why people dislike it so much. But I honestly can say I do enjoy the game so much I can't see what's so wrong with it. The thing I don't like is how you maybe ona higher level then one enemy but for some reason its takes a tad bit long to kill it. Maybe I got my teams wrong, but the way I play I ususal don't let a battle last longer then 2:50. My fasest would have to be around 17-27 secs.

Actually, unless I'm level grinding, I ususally just ignore small fry. It just saves time and there is an enemy number cap to protect processing speed that also stops them from completely overwhelming you.

My god, I laughed so hard when I played that part.

Warrior of Light is the closest thing to the main character in Dissidia. I'd go so far as to say he's the single most powerful character on Cosmos's side. That's a debate for another time I suppose. >>

I'm starting to dislike Squall to be honest. It's like Lightning got a massive chunk of her personality ripped off from him and...I dunno. At first I felt like Squall made being extremely antisocial and straight-forward look awesome but after playing through 013 again...eh...>> I guess I shouldn't really care because I haven't even played FFVIII.

Meh. I personally like a lot of other characters over Lightning. She isn't all that great for a large amount of reasons. <<

I think Squall got a fair representation in Dissidia, though I haven't played Duodecim so I don't know if it carried over. In VIII he's kind of a dick at first because he doesn't know how to talk to people, but he can work with them when he's focused; he protects his friends and has a handful of positive leadership qualities. Dissidia seemed like it caught him after a lot of his development, when he had learned not to be as much of a jerk.

And yeah, WoL was basically the protagonist of Dissidia. I love what they did with him, especially considering there was no personal template whatsoever.

I think I retract what I said earlier about Squall. I just remembered that I didn't like him in the beginning. Some of the things he said later on(to Warrior of Light and the villains) made me change my mind though.

I know. 8D That's what I love about that guy. He's a generic hero in the most badass way possible.

FFI had Garland, a Peninsula of Power, Warriors of Light, Garland, beautiful 8-bit graphics, amazing music, an absolutely awesome parody, Chaos, the Four Fiends, D&D elements, an extremely open ended adventure that allowed you to go around and stumble on the plot as you go instead of being guided by invisible walls, Garland, several amazing remakes, zombie dragons, two alternate universe spin-off games for the PSP, and Garland.

    Therefore, it is the best.

EDIT: I forgot about Garland, didn't I? Yeah, it's got Garland too. Just saying.

I'm pretty sure they're both awesome. That one's more awesome, yes, but 8-bit Theatre is still amazing.

XIII was pretty damn awesome, yes, but I still think VII holds 1st place.

Also I find it humorous that I see this thread right after changing my signature to lyrics to a song in XIII.

Meh, I don't really like games that rip off characters from previous games in the franchise.

I always thought of Lightning as a descendant of Cloud's hundreds (or even thousands) of years into the future when much of the Mako has been drained, so the remnants of ShinRa build the Fal Cie and place it into them. They're then entrusted to (a) supplying it to the planet and (b) keeping it safe from those who would rediscover its potential later. As hundreds of years pass the Fal Cie become sentient, form factions, and Cocoon is later built by those who can't stand being dedicated the hunk of rock, having been renamed Pulse over the years. Some humans remain on Pulse while others who seek adventure follow the Fal Cie to Cocoon. Hundreds more years pass and Lightning is born in a time when Pulse has become hated by the residents of Cocoon. Materia are now no more and have been replaced by La Cie sigils, but only in a select few people and even then at the price of having to fulfill a Focus.

    Wild mass guessing ftw.
