p.s I am surprised that people are admitting to liking XII, thats like admitting to being happy about having a really bad disease

 

Actually, FFXII was always highly regarded, just not by the fans of Final Fantasy, because they wanted their games with loads of clichés and a romance that seem out of place.

But in all seriousness, ten had nothing to offer. There was no story. Kid plays sport. Kid hated Father. Kid's city gets attacked by monster. Kid time travels. Kid never existed. The end.

XII, on the other hand, has more of a story.

 

There are posts in this thread by people saying they liked 12, they are posts by FF fans, what a nice contradiction.

Besides, FF games aren't full of cliches and out of place romances. In this case it was the blandness and the battle system which caused me to dislike 12, it had naff all to do with the story line. The story could have worked well if the game itself didn't suck balls.

I disagree, there was a lot of story involved in X, it went beyond Tidus' story and was about the stories of all the characters as well as Spira in general. It had a lot of reflections with the state of our own world too, which I liked. Plus, Blitzball. Plus, I loved the sphere grid.

 

Spheregrid was doodle.

 

Just because we're on a KH forum doesn't mean everyone is a FF fan, and I also like to think that a lot of the regulars here are a bit smarter than the average Final Fantasy fan, but that's just me.

That's completely subjective then, I hated most of the gameplay in FFX outside of battle so that game has to be cancer itself. I just say it's aids for other reasons c:

Actually the thing that pulled me towards it was that I really loved the art style.

and guys aint it good that all these FF's are different? At least SE has balls to do something different for each game. If it were not for that the series would of died ages ago.

 

Nowhere did I say that everyone on this forum is an FF fan. Nor did I say anything about intelligence. I also think it is unfair of you to imply that the average of an entire fan base is less than intelligent.

 

The problem was that all the characters were emo, whiny or just plain out dumb (or in one case, Auron). They didn't bring much to the table, characters like Rikku were just there for the sex appeal, Wakka was dumb as **** *Rikku's hometown gets blown up* "BOOM! Just like happy fireworks, ya?", etc. The game also tried to push the fact that Tidus was the main character when it was obviously Yuna, that was quite annoying. Blitzball is a lie from the game itself "Hey! See this fast paced high-octane game here? Yeah, just wait until you get to play it! ... btw, it's a card game.". Not that I didn't enjoy Blitzball though. The sphere grid was just all flash and no depth, the idea was great but the excecution was horrible. "Oh hey, you can do whatever you want here! Except for the fact that everyone has their own paths and the most choice you get is to take a slight detour to get one more skill." It wasn't meaningful until laaaate in the game.

I didn't imply that they were less than intelligent, I said that they were more intelligent than the average fan, that's not really the same.

 

I like the bit where we could say that FFX was boring and NOT be raged at the most. Oh wait...
