Indeed. Man...this makes me more interested in the game. Except for those monsters which seem to plague your party. I really hope that we get permanent party members.

Also, Serah is...pretty impressive. I don't know if I'm more impressed by how impossibly scant her clothing is, or by how amazing she seems to fare in battle. The music seemed really nice in this trailer too. I'm eagerly awaiting this game.

I don't know how to feel about XIII-2 yet. I want to look forward to it, but I really hate the whole 'monsters for a party member' thing. That's the only thing really keeping me from being excited, because I find the idea so uninteresting and pointless.

I really am looking forward to this game.
But I'm afraid it will turn out like Tales Of Symphonia - Dawn of (The or a) New World, with the monsters being party members.
And the fact that it's the sequel of a great game like Tales of Symphona DOTNW to Tales of Symphonia, as TOS DOTNW wasn't as good as TOS.

    Hahaa this^

I like her clothing style, a little more "medieval" with a J-pop candyshop look. (Especially the ponytail XD) But i like how the clothing was redone in a different way as a whole in the FFXIII realm. I think that almost gives it a back to the retro games + the usual mind blowing graphics of Square Enix.

Serah looks pretty awesome, that's for sure, but the greatest thing is that she has a Moogle that transforms into a crossbow. A CROSSBOW.

Completely agree. I'm hoping it'll be something that's not heavily relied on. Having the option to choose characters you've grown to learn and understand adds to the battle experience. The cinematic additions are a lovely touch, however.

I've done the same concept in Perfect World. One of the classes you fight with a beast, so it's basically the same. But What I want to know is, how does a moogle turn into a crossbow, and a crossbow as nice as that

Well throughout different the diferent Final Fantasies, moogles are refered to as the most powerful creatures. (Especially in Duodecim) but i'm not certain if that would be the reason for this...

I like the idea of monsters as party members.
I hate the idea of not having such a customizable party. I mean...isn't this Final Fantasy?

A part of me was hoping that the rest of Team Nora became the eventual party.

On the topic of Nora, I'm slightly disappointed Square didn't at least alter their clothes a wee bit. It has been 5 years after all.

so ,did Team Nora even provide much of anything in the first XIII? Are they bringing them into this now because they didn't have much time in the first game? And that guy seems pretty strong, considering we never saw them fight in the first

They were part of your team during the first chapter and helped save lives during the Purge and during the invasion. They were also in Episode ZERO and I, which went into more detail about how they lived. So, they weren't the main characters but they had a decent role. They may have a large role in this game since it looks like the game will start in New Bodhum and they're helping setting it up.

They seemed to imply otherwise. They announced 150 + monsters, and monster DLCs (probaby a shitload of them, just like the Duodecim costume DLC fever).

M.T.: The battle system in FFXIII was speedy as it was, but we have made it even faster and more dynamic. Each of the monsters the player can be executed in a similar fashion to the action-orientated commands of FFXIII’s Eidolons in Gestalt Mode. So, you can now add variety to your favorite strategies by using ally monsters.

Even faster and more dynamic ? A bunch of action-oriented pokemons ? O_o
    ...
    Yay ? T_T

    Transformer Moogle ?
The summons Etro sent to the characters in FFXIII were robots, Shiva could transform into a bike, all the Fal' Cie are robots too.

as much as i'm looking forward to xiii-2, i can definitely see the "sequel" aspect of it showing. almost like in final fantasy x-2 when they changed everything up. the paradigm system is all changed up and we don't even see lightning until later in the game (just like we didn't play tidus in x-2). hopefully mistakes were learned from and they alter some stuff because x-2 wasn't all that. they need to bring fang back and have her play a roll in there somewhere because the fact that she was a tough chick was already a change from the more useless girls in video games, i still see serah complaining about her situation/all of a sudden having a really deep conversation about friendship and how she needs to "be strong".

Also, I agree with the above. I don't want to have monsters being a necessity in my party. Worst case-scenario, we'd at least have the option to just use the two main characters.

I'm not sure if this was intentional, but if you add to this the fact that you have monsters in your party...it seems pretty fishy. FFXIII-2: Dawn of the New World.

Does anyone think the difficulty of the game will be toned down a bit? By difficulty I mean the bosses having too much HP in FFXIII. It wasn't really difficult, just too long.

well, either the boss has a lot of HP and it takes forever and is hard because you haven't levels, or they have little HP and they're annoying no matter what. Either way, I think any game can be difficult or easy, it just depends if you play the right way. I'm think XIII-2, if it's going to be like XIII, might be somewhat difficult for those that don't quite get what to do

apparently in this game people will have the ability to choose what "level" the game is at, like easy, medium, or hard..something like that with different names than that obviously.

they did that with Dirge of Cerberus as well though. It might not have been like the traditional final fantasys, but wouldn't it still be the same concept though? And does anyone know the time this game will be? Wasn't the last one like over 100 hours if you did all the side quests and stuff?

Nope, it took me something like 40 hours to finish it, 50 hours to get 100%. I did' t bother to bear with the ridiculously low drop rate to get the last useless trophy but I doubt it would require 50 hours.
They say this one will be shorter to finish, 30 hours I suppose, but it will have multiple endings and more side-quests (think FFX-2).
