Or Noel was in crystal stasis and then released from it after the end of the first game (because all the Fal'Ce are dead(?))
Or there is a colony on Pulse of humans that have been living and Cocoon never knew cause they are dicks?

and why is Cocoon no longer a crystal?

and doesn't that hand kinda look like Orphan/Barthandelous?

assuming Lendzei is the bad guy in this...could he be trying to bring back the Fal'ce in order to take back control of Cocoon?

I am SOOOO pumped for this game. It looking better and better!!!

*Looks closer* Holy crap, you're right! Moogles just got infinitely more awesome.

Wings have been included in pretty much every final fantasy as a running thing. Kefka's final form, Sephiroth, Rinoa's angel form, Yuna's Wedding Dress had a wing pattern...etc. Probably doesn't mean much.

Could there maybe be two separate fighting systems? One for 'lone wolf' Lighting for one half of the game, and another for the normal party for the other half?

I don't think all fal'cie were killed, just the Cocoon ones tied into to Eden, so when Orphan was destroyed and Eden lost its power, they all died too. But any Pulse fal'cie like Titan or Bismarck should still be around.

And that hand looks more like a cieth hand, Orphan/Barthandelous's is more smooth.

    Atlas is a beast!

lol, I think I may like Mog. xD

Mog also has some other useful features.

And FFXIII-2 allows players to pick what Noel says...in some situations.

Obviously no Mass Effect, but an interesting addition.

    Some gameplay.

Well here's my thoughts on FFXIII-2

One side is they should've never made it. The ending of 13 was great and should've stayed like that. There's no need to extend the line on XIII after so many mixed reviews (I don't see why people hate :<). And all the Serah and no Snow, it makes me wonder. Is she gonna be with that guy? I don remember his name, but if she's gonna be in a relationship with him an stuffs, Im gonna blow up SE HQ. Seriously, even Snow's rebel allies are there. And what about the others? Hope? Sazh? Snow? Serah fighting also made me slightly ticked. She was the type that is never meant to fight. It makes me ponder a lot for this game. So far, I dot know what will happen, but I can sense a lot more hate than XIII itself if SE can't explain what's happening in the right way.

On the other hand, I am very curious to see this game. I'm glad they kept the original battle system and stuff. The wandering looks same as well (pray for open world :3). Quick time events I really don't know.

I'll keep an eye out on this one. I hope all can be explained soon.

I hated FFXIII and i'll probably hate the second part two.
I just miss the old turn based fighting system, I really wish they would bring it back!

I'm really looking forward to this game, I suppose it's because I like the characters and their weapons but also I'm not a huge fan of the FF fighting style so I've never really played one of the original games to the end. I did start FFIV but I just couldn't get into it so I suppose that is why I'm so excited for this game.

So, I've heard that Noel will apparently not know about any of the events from the first game...

I dunno if this is true, but me and Terra were joking around and he said, maybe he slept through it...
    Which is an interesting thought.
So this made me wonder... Is Noel like Fang and Vanille, in that he was a L'cie previously and was perhaps in Crystal Stasis throughout the events of the first game? (and therefore would have no idea about what happened.
Is it possible he doesn't have memories from his time as a L'cie before either? (providing my theory is correct)
What do you guys think about this?
    Agree? Disagree? Other ideas?

It's said Noel didn't know about anything because he was in Gran Pulse, and the majority of the events (Namely, about 97% of the important ones) happened in Cocoon.
To him, Cocoon just suddenly became a crystal tower one day.

And what is your entire theory?
    Completed focus = Lost memories?
    Because that one case with
    Fang
seemed more like a drawback from
    becoming Ragnarok.
    I mean,
everyone completed their focus, and it can't be the Burnt l'Cie mark either as they all got it in the last second, with the exception of Vanille, but everyone remembers everything.

Touche, I just thought it would be hard for him to not notice the whole thing with Cocoon falling and Ragnarok, and then the sudden crystal tower lol...

As for the completed focus = lost memories thing... I didn't think that at all lol
I know that everyone remembered everything so I didn't assume that anyway lol,
I was just trying to fill in a possible blank, I mean... there are other ways to lose your memories lol (maybe a Fal'cie could have wiped it for some reason... or something. Like perhaps him not knowing his past could help him with his next Focus?) obviously, providing he had lost his memory, that would be a plot point as well to show us how he lost it and what he forgot from his time...
Of course, the theory of crystal stasis could still work even if he hadn't lost his memory.

I dunno, it was just a thought. XD
As I said, even if he was on Gran Pulse... it's still hard to believe he didn't even notice the crystal tower thing... (unless he was on the complete other side of the planet or something... :/)
Or maybe Terra's joke is right and he did just happen to sleep through the part when Cocoon fell.
I mean, Crystal Stasis is a big plot point in the world of FFXIII, so... I figured they might use it like that possibly lol
Obviously, my theory would rely on the fact of him even being a L'cie before hand... so... yeah lol, he might just be a normal dude from Pulse who is made a L'cie in game.

It's all just speculation and guess work on my part, but yeah lol.

In all fairness, "not knowing" could ammount to the fact that he wasn't there, and so he doesn't know exactly what happened. I mean, imagine this. You're sitting at home one day, when suddenly the moon falls out of the sky, a huge demon-looking thing spawns from the side of it and covers it in crystal, and then fuses it in place around the earth. Would you know what just happened? That could be what they mean by 'he doesn't know the events of the first game'.

I don't know how about you guys know, but Snow will appear in XIII-2. But it's currently unknown if he'll even be playable. The only thing to make me happier is that Hope will be set to appear. And there's something else on my mind, if Serah's using the roles of a l'Cie, does that mean we will see what Eidolon she would have had in XIII?

    I see.
Well, i don't really think he lost any memory.

Gran Pulse is big as Hell, and with 5 years to travel, he could've walked all the way from the other side into new Bodhum.

Also, he's either already a l'cie (Though i still find it hard to believe, since even though the bajilion of Cocoon Fal'cies were the only ones who disappeared, Light & Co lost their marks, even being Pulse l'cie, which implies that marks are gone, or something. Or not whatever) or uses Magic through some insanely complex system that involves the oh so great shape-shifting, monster taming moogle.

That's exactly what i said, and also what happened.
Been said in the last interview.

There's the fact they might only join as guests though, sadly.
If Hope & Snow don't join as permanent party members I'm gonna rage sooo much.
Even more if just Hope is forgotten in fact >_>

It's been said she has no Eidolon, she'll control the monsters instead.
Though they never said she wouldn't get one later.

Well, at least the news of there being a Sequel is good news, One of the developers did say they did create Lighting/Claire's house and that data within it was more than enough to make another game.

Edit Chevalier : I thought it was pretty self-explanatory. ^^
I' ve read so many comments about Serah' s newfound "ultimate warrior" attitude being weird, given her overall attitude in XIII and her sugared wimpy pinky girly clothes, that I thought of making this picture.

As for your Dawn Of The New World concern : http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/...-t-the-only-main-characters-in-ff-xiii-2.aspx
"Main" doesn' t necessarily mean "permanent party members" though, in other interviews they said that there' ll only be "guests" to help Noel and Serah, so I' m a bit confused ...

While this pretty funny lol. It'd be nice if your post had something a bit more relevant to the thread, so I wouldn't have to consider it spam. Can you please add a little more?

Anyhow, I'm really bothered by how similar this is looking to Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World. I really hope I'm wrong, since I want a full character party and Lighting through most of the game.

Anyhow, here's the HQ promotional art.

I've read about it's going to be a little less linear in terms of exploring (Apparently there will be towns and villages to visit...Hopefully more than the odd two).

I get the idea of Noel not knowing anything but from an interview I read the reason was for helping players who hadn't played the previous game understand what occurred...which confuses me as I don't think you'd buy this game without having played the first. (I guess they have to cover all bases or something)

Making Serah a main character is quite...unpopular in some fanbases I've read about and it seems she's more a support character to Noel too which irritates the feminist within me (I think we have enough support/mage women in this series for god sakes...but then making Serah a warrior is also treading Mary-Sue grounds). I hope they let the original cast be playable a bit more and not just have Serahs search for Lightning and Lightnings search for Fang+Vanille be the only focuses. Little side stories and stuff would be nice and textured to give more.

Ok, I'm complaining a fair bit; I'm excited to see how it pans out but I hope they took a lot of criticism over XIII onboard for developing this one because there was a lot to improve upon from XIII in my eyes (and my friends who're longtime FF fans).
