Square-Enix Final Fantasy XIII-2?

Wouldn't this have been better in the other FFXIII-2 thread where everything else is?

I'm kind of wondering if Purple Man is from the future, or even the past. He might be the catalyst for the destruction of the human race.
I have this weird feeling that Lightning will be time traveling.

I think it's interesting what they're doing with this whole "players choose the path" thing, but I don't like that method. I've always been the gamer that just followed the story to get to the true ending :/

 

lol, don't get your Role-Play mixed up with the game.
Albeit, I think the idea behind your Role-Play would make a good game for a XIII continuation. XD

But I also feel much the same. While I also like choice in games and find it interesting how they've implemented it in this. I've found that in terms of the FF games, I much prefer just playing the story to reach it's true and natural conclusion.

 

One of the destinations is 300 AF. That's quite a leap in time. xD I'm hoping they include being able to go back in time (Would like to see more about Fang and Vanille's past).

Isn't he like Lindzei's warrior? So it'd be safe to presume he might be the catalyst for the destruction of the human race. As to when he's from, I doubt Square will share that until the game is released.

One of the features I like is that they did include a New Game + element for this.
It will make playing through again to view other story lines a lot easier in that regard.
Also, I like the idea of controlling how far back into the past you can go so you can have some re playability in regards to that too If you wanted to replay as certain section of a time period as an example.

 

The fact he said we'll see FF13 chars in multiple situations and guises worries me.
I WANT PERMA PARTY MEMBER HOPE/SNOW/SAZH

All games with multiple endings have a "true" ending.
Maybe this game even plays like 999, and the endings you get along the way are just multiple "tries" to see what happens in order for the chaacters to shape a ending that fits what they want after.

 

I can see this being entirely impossible. Since the possibilities are endless when it comes to time travel, this may very well be the case.

Like with all the arcs in Higurashi and how Rika and Hanyuu keep travelling to try and find their ideal ending.
Or all the time travel in Madoka Magica so she can get the ideal ending and try to save Madoka in the process.

Maybe something along those lines.. but more FF-ish. lol

Huh, I guess that's why Noel keeps telling Serah that she'll see Lightning again. Because Lightning sent him...unless this happens later on (I'm going under the assumption that she sends him prior to the game).

...what does AF stand for? After Fal'Cie? lol

 

He told her in one of the recent vids, she was still in new Bodhum(sp?) so it's likely once they first met.

And AF stands for After Fall, as in Cocoon's fall.

After watching all of the trailers for XIII-2 last night... I've made it my mission to finish XIII today. I never did because I was really hesitant to fight the final boss. （．＿．）

 

I want this game so bad. I've been meaning to replay XIII and get everything before this arrives in our shores.

Please, give us permanent party members. Or at least, give us one human character per time destination. That'd be interesting to see. Go to one location and get X party member. Like in Kingdom Hearts.

Lightning can't leave Valhalla? Does this mean we'll she'll only join the party when you arrive there? D;

 

Eh, it looks like it could be good. I read the Game Informer article for this, and thought this would be interesting to play. Although, I still haven't finished XIII. xD

 

Snow confirmed to appear at TGS.
They also seem to imply characters like Hope and Snow are guests only, which is quite disappointing.

 

Didn't like Hope. Didn't like Snow.

I'm happy about this.

 

By characters like Hope or Snow I meant anything that isn't a monster.

 

Update: A TGS reporter released some news about XIII-2. First, Snow, Hope, and Lightning will be making a comeback in this game (No Sazh :<). Second, there will be MULTIPLE endings. Third, if people played the first XIII, the save file will transfer over.

 

Interesting.
I mean I knew the first few things... but not about the save files.
I wonder how they'll augment that into this, I mean... would it be similar to Dissidia were you get bonus items for having a save from the first game?
Or would it actually affect something in the game somehow?... or maybe something else entirely.
I look forward to seeing what happens with that feature.
