Square-Enix Final Fantasy XIII-2?

1. Square often use old mythology in their games, and it's kinda fitting since Odin ruled over Valhalla. It seems now Lightning, with Odin is fighting to protect both worlds.
2.Because that's what the creators decided.
3. To save the human race since apparently there's no one/or very few left in the future.
4. To my understanding she serves Etro. So, if anything, it could be Etro's temple. I don't know for sure but that'd be my guess.

I decided to answer all 4 of your questions instead of the requested 2.

From now on, I'm avoiding all spoilers. lol
And yeah, I wonder how the ending thing will work.
Sure there will be multiple endings... but most games with multi ends usually have what is considered a 'True Ending'
So... would this work that way?
Would there be good and bad ends? (bad ends that aren't game over... but you know... are like. 'The End' just something bad had to happen for them to reach it. Sorta thing...)

I'm very intrigued in seeing how this will go.

 

I just wished Lightning was the MAIN character. And judging from the looks, I don't like Noel at all especially with Serah. I know SE confirmed that Snow will be here, but even so...

I just hope it goes well. It would break my heart if they changed the game way too much and it didn't look similar to FFXIII

 

well, they did somewhat of the same thing with FFX and X-2. Yuna was a main character, but she wasn't like who the story revolved around. In the second it was. It's kinda the same concept here. Besides, you can look at it as an opportunity to find out more about the other characters

Also, the end-of-the-world-monster in FF XIII was called Ragnarok, and Lightning' s armor makes her look like Leneth Valkyrie (but not like an actual Valkyrie).

 

that's wrong, so very wrong. I can't take it, it's just too wrong. How could you mix terminator with FFXIII-2? You ahve desicrated FF.
And yeah, I kinda began thinking of Valkyrie Profile as well, when I saw Lightning in the armor.

But here's what I want to ask. I just watched the trailer again, and something seemed different about Lightning. It was just the way she talked. I don't know, it just didn't sound like her from the first game

If it's why she sounds different, she sounds more serious and poetic. It probably has to do with being Etro's guardian.

 

Etro's realm is likely something that transcends time or something, I remember seeing something along those lines in that novel of what happens just after the end.
She could be there for more years than she seems to be, and that much time alone in that place certainly'd change her a little.

This reminds me of another game. The Tales of Symphonia 1 and 2. For those who played, you know what I'm talking about. In the second game, there are 2 new main characters and the rest aren't majorly important in the game. This game totally reminds me of XIII and XIII-2

 

I wonder who else will be making a comeback in this game?

 

I recently noticed that Alyssa and Hope have almost identical accents on their jackets. Hope seems to have a necktie as well (hard to notice from the picture we have of him) just like Alyssa. I think perhaps they're both with PSICOM or a similar organization. If so, it's good to see Hope stepping up a notch like that.

I've had this weird thought that Purple Man is Lindzei's warrior as Lightning is Etro's guardian.

Aye, that appears to be the case. AF stands for 'After Fall'. It's kinda cool you can move between the two. It'll be interesting to see what happened after 300 years. xD

Eh, no he doesn't.

I figure she's not a L'Cie but they retain some powers after being freed. Perhaps?

Anyone noticed that Noel bares a slight resemblance to the Mysterious man? A possible relation maybe?

It would make sense if you think about it in a way...
Serah has Lightning.
Noel has the Mysterious guy.
It's just a thought, but I think there could be some connection if we look at it with that view. After all, I think Noel would have some deeper connection than what we do already know.

It would also equal things out on both sides... I can just see Square pulling something like that, but it's just a guess and speculation on my part.

We get to see old characters in different time periods? Ohh I didn't think of that.
Though, from what I've seen, the time jumps are pretty massive (like 95 years), so I could only imagine seeing Fang and Vanille in the past.
