I'm curious to see how the NPC's look now. They did say that they are "improving" them, which I assume is something along the same lines as the monster models. I know it's a minor thing, but considering how much work they put into the other graphics, it'd be pretty lazy of them to just glance over them and make them stick out like a sore thumb.

Pretty stoked for the idea of HD FFX music, espcially if it's KH1.5 quality.

Unfortunately that's probably exactly the case. Improved textures, but overall terrible models

I'm iffy about this... I honestly loved Final Fantasy X for a while, but that was before I played the classics which made me really love the series. VI still being my favorite. I did think X was still a great favorite of mine, but found myself playing less and less of it as time went on. Maybe it was the characters, except Auron who's still a badass, or something else, dunno.

Does anyone know if it's going to be like the International version with the Dark Aeons? Just wondering, if so, I will most likely buy it just for that part.

Thanks, I'm really looking forward to it now. I do NOT like FFX-2, though. So I'll only probably play X, X-2 just drove me nuts with everything and really didn't have a driving story to get me behind it.

Same thing for me. I never liked the story of X-2 but the combat's awesome!

I don't know if I can stand all the fan moments to survive the combat.

The combat isn't that bad. Like I said before, I started with X, so I went to X-2 next and the combat techniques REALLY threw me off after X. That and the leveling system. I might play X-2 at least once for the hell of it, though how in the heck I'll keep track to make 100% I have no idea.

A few days ago, in the Lightning Returns thread, I mentioned that FFdream had an interview with the dev team. They put the whole thing online today. There was nothing about LR in there really worth enough to bother translating the whole thing, and although they also asked questions about other SE games they only got non-answers through and through.

However they did got an answer to their question about the X-X2 remake : will the european feature Last Mission (X2' s bonus dungeon) ? I thought it was a given, but surprisingly their answer was that they don' t know yet. They want to see how the public reacts to the incoming batch of trailers before they take that decision.

X-2 has a stupid start, but it DOES get better... a bit
eh, a quick google search tells me it won some awards so I'd say it's pretty acclaimed

I know it improves, I've looked ahead in the story. But one of the things that really bothers me is Yuna's characterization. She seems so different, so... immature. Not in a natural way, as if Rikku and Tidus rubbed off on her, but as if the writers forgot what she's like. And most of the plot revolves around man troubles and her feeling incomplete without her boy. If the story's just going to carry that character forward, I'm not sure if I'll be compelled to like it or just miss the original X more for the effort. Not that I'm against a romance plot, but this one kinda feels like it's gutting the characters involved.

I honestly felt like it was a pretty good take on how a character as reserved as Yuna would react to suddenly being thrust into a world of peace and adventure after living in constant fear with the burden of death constantly hanging over her. X-2 does get pretty pandering, but I feel like when she's not being sexualized Yuna is done pretty well.

I often see people complain about this, but I actually think her characterization in X-2 made perfect sense. In FFX she had all sorts of self imposed restraints. She acted as the person she thought she needed to be rather than as the person she wanted to be, putting duty before anything else. She forbid herself to have any sort of fun because it made being a sacrificial lamb easier for her. However, by the end of X, her entire belief system has been beaten into a bloody pulp. Turns out her "duty" was utter bollocks.

A world without Sin, a world where people could just goof around on the beach without having anything more pressing on their mind than flirting, that' s all she ever fought for. Now that she has it she' d be silly not to enjoy it, she has no reason left not to be who she secretely wished to be all along. She' s still a goody two shoes trying to do the right thing whenever she can, that hasn' t changed.

I also often hear people complain about her clothes, but I' ve lived by the beach for 20 years and they don' t strike me as particularly odd or, err ... "****tish". Now Lulu on the other hand : a long dress, a leather belt overdose, the whole thing is black and there' s even some fur to top it all ? In summer ? Seriously ? You don' t want to know how she smells like. <_<

Not exactly what I meant. It's no crime to have a little fun, but Yuna doesn't just have fun. She's ditzy, she blows people off, and she plays the helpless act despite having saved the world once before. She's childish, not childlike, and that's a big distinction in the long run. She just doesn't behave the same way, like she's suddenly lost all the wisdom and courage her journey brought her. Relieved of duty or not, it's just too dramatic of a change to be realistic to me.

I' d argue she was just as ditzy in FFX, she never exactly struck me as the brightest bulb in the box. Maybe it wasn' t as obvious, but it was there.

I only remember her blowing Shelinda off, for good reasons (no point for her being a public face anymore). On the other hand she was unable to say no to Tobi' s constant pleas, despite R&P mocking her gulibility.

As for the helpless act ... not sure what you' re talking about either, silly joke scenes setting a lighter mood aside.

I don' t know whether you' ve played it to the end or not, but in the end she makes it obvious in her dialogues that she has indeed learned something from X. I' d say the "wisdom" that isnt' t there anymore wasn' t wisdom to begin with, that would be part of what she learned, but she hasn' t thrown all of it away. The ending also makes it plainly obvious she' s neither frail nor a coward.

Does anyone want to mention the obvious love for Yuna from Brother who's her COUSIN?! Anyone?! Thought so.

Dude... That's just wrong, in every way possible. Anywho...

Yeah, I didn't like FFX-2, not only for the mentioned above moments, it just was tedious and boring. You had to do EVERYTHING in a right order and NOT miss one thing to get 100% for the "best" ending. It was the concerts, the way too much fluffiness and just the whole ditziness. I mean, I can only stand a certain amount of fanboy moments before I turn off the system. The whole massage scene in itself was enough for me to go......

Y-eah... Too much for me. And it's too bad, I did like FFX, it was my favorite for a long time before I played VI/III.
