FFX Remaster

So I just found a video on youtube...ok it was on my recommended list...and it was about the FFX coming to PS3 and Vita. I'll post it up for you. I have no idea who these people are either, but at least this is something.

What do you guys think? Would you rather have had a remake? Or are you fine with a remaster? Personally I'm fine with the remaster. I enjoyed the FFX game as it was, and I'm not sure changing a huge amount of it would be great. But that's just my personal opinion

I'm wondering if they were going to use the new luminous engine which they're using for Versus for the remaster. I heard somewhere that they were going to use it but I cannot remember where.

So someone please clarify for me: how nice is the game going to look? Are they just adding some extra shine and gloss to the PS2 version, or something more?
I think I said this somewhere in the thread before but I really just wish they would make the menus less horrifying and give it a controllable camera, hah.

But Iunno, I think they're going to have to do something really special to the game for me to justify buying it again.

 

I'm thinking that the most we're going to get is graphics like either Final Fantasy XIII, or XIV. Other than that, we get nothing new. Same menus, same controls, same everything

FFX was my first RPG, period. So to hear this is pretty awesome. I'll definitely buy this. and the fact it is the international version is cool. In the international version could you end up with a different female teammate, or was that strictly the Japanese version? I remember getting certain dialogue options at certain points based on how nice you've been to that character (rezzing them, healing them, using their specials or whatever). But the options never actually made a difference for the U.S. version.

Yuna is cool and all, but Rikku is <3

Never heard of it. I just checked on GameFaqs, they have a guide about this. Turns out the International version has several alternate scenes indeed (5), and some can also involve Auron, Wakka or Kimahri :

1. Guadosalam Conversation: After Farplane. Rikku or Lulu are the choices.
TB: Lulu > Rikku

2. Macalania Temple Ride: After defeating Crawler, this takes place. It can be a trip with anyone, except Yuna.
TB: Lulu > Rikku > Auron > Kimahri

3. After Sin's Fins: After killing both Left and Right Fin. It can be said by anyone.
TB: Yuna > Auron > Kimahri > Wakka > Lulu > Rikku

4. After fighting Sin's Core and Genais. A conversation will take place. It can be from anyone.
TB: Yuna > Auron > Kimahri > Wakka > Lulu > Rikku

5. Tidus' Blitz Ace. The one with the highest Affection Level throw the blitzball for Tidus' "Sphere Shot"
TB: Yuna > Lulu > Rikku

Huh, didn't realise that they had things like this in the game. Nice little touches like those are great. The only one I really remember though was after killing sin's fins where I always got Lulu's speech.

 

Yeah, I never noticed that the girl throwing the blitzball during the overdrive could change until a little through my 3rd playthrough of it. And they even say it in the guide, which I'm surprised i never noticed. I still try to keep it as Yuna though, I don't like having Lulu throw the ball
