Square-Enix Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster

Still no word on a release date, but Gaescom gave us a new trailer
This one is a direct comparison of SD to HD, including our first example of the remastered soundtrack!

 

I'm not quite sure about the battle theme remaster but I put that down to being so used to the original. Its sounding good but there's something about the start of the song that sounds a bit off to me. Maybe a bit heavy?

Still, looking forward to hearing other tracks.

 

The new one is too noisy, it gets better towards the end but eh. A lot of Square's more recent music sounds like this, who was it that remastered the tracks?

Of course, I think that FFX's battle theme has always been pretty bad, but this is certainly not an improvement.

I loooooove FFX's music, but I agree that it sounds more noisier, per se. However, it might be because of the other Sound FX blended in, such as the grunting and battle commands. But I totally am digging it.

That's certainly an unpopular opinion, I hate the game to all ends of the earth (It's Tidus's fault), and I love the battle theme.

Either way, I may pick this up if I get a PS3/PS4 someday. It might improve the experience for me.

 

I've never really seen anyone say that FFX's battle theme is that great. It's pretty damn bland, if you ask me then the only worse battle theme in the series would be X-2's.

 

I absolutely loved FFX! FFX-2 could've been better but it wasn't all that bad in my opinion. I AM SO GETTING THIS! The new battle theme sounds great!

Is there any word on whether this will be on next gen consoles? or will it be ps3 only?
if it is then it will no doubt on 'the cloud' ?

This actually looks like it could be cool. I've been wanting to replay X for a while now, this would give me a good excuse if I had PSN

Soooooo a definite 2014 release for NA/EU. No surprise there. Let's hope TGS will confirm something.
