Final Fantasy X-2: Resolved Dreams

"Last I saw, she went up to the deck to see Daichi." Maylene told them.

 

"I'll check the deck, Yuna......" Kari turned to her, Yuna smiled. "I'll check the comm-sphere we placed at Gagazet."

Kari went to the deck and saw Daichi. "Well, I see her machina mole sleeping on your shoulder, Daichi, but I see no Lukya."

Yuna checked the comm-sphere, "Kimahri, this is crazy to ask, but have you seen Lukya?"

 

Daichi looked at Kari, "...Lukya's not with you guys?" he asked.
...The pit of his stomach gave a funny leap... something was wrong. He'd been too lost in thought to have noticed before... but now...
Damn! I'm an idiot!

 

"We can't find her anywhere on the airship. Yuna's checking the comm-sphere we left at Gagazet. Something's just not right here." Kari rubbed her hair and looked at the sky.

 

"...Don't bother checking the Comm-Sphere at Gagazet.
She's there... I know it."
Daichi then spoke into his commsphere, not wasting time to go down to the bridge.
"Brother! Get this thing to land at Gagazet now!" he yelled into it.

 

"Roger!!!!!!" Brother shouted. "Next stop: Gagazet!!!!" Kari gasped, "Wait a minute, you don't think she'll try to do something at Gagazet?!"

"Garik, stop!!!!!!!!!" Lukya reached the Ronso and caught her breath. "Please, stop this madness!!!!! As the leader of my people, I can not allow you to do this!"

 

"You know Lukya..." Daichi said, gritting his teeth in worry.
"Damn! I'm such an idiot..." he clenched his fist.
"Brother, can't you get us there any faster?!" he called down the commsphere.
Somewhere within him, he hoped Brother would know that he wasn't trying to be harsh. He was just worried as the others were.

 

"The airship is going as fast as she can!!!!!" Brother shouted, Kari shouted back in Al Bhed, "Damm Lockon du gaab dra ahkehac cdypma yht dno hud du ujan yllinyda, Brother." "Nukan dryd, Kari." Brother replied, Kari looked at the clouds, "Hope the little princess is doing okay."

 

Daichi clenched his fist. His nails, slightly claw like and digging into his flesh.
"Kari... the past two years... I've lost count how many with how many Ronso came to the mansion to try and get revenge...
And now Lukya is on Gagazet. Of course Ronso are everywhere.
She's tough and Kimahri may be there... but if she right in front of them, not even Kimahri will be able to hold them back.." he clenched his teeth harder. The wind ripping through his fur as they were flying fast for Gagazet.

 

Kari sighed and put her hand on his free shoulder. "Don't worry. The little princess should be fine. She's really favoring that dress Luna gave her." Kari held out her hand and Lukya's machina mole hopped into it, it looked up at them with a determined look, raising a paw in the air.

 

Daichi close his eyes. Luna... please...
I... I...
...Watch over Lukya please...
He opened his eyes again as they got closer to their destination, and therefore to Lukya.

 

"Kari, the engine's overheating!!!!! Are you sure about this?" Lockon shouted from her comm-sphere. Kari said, "Just wait a little longer, Lockon. We're almost there. And while you wait, how 'bout you properly confess to Maylene?" "Kari, this is no time for jokes!"

 

Daichi made a snap decision. "Don't bother wasting time and landing at the base of the mountain, find exactly where she is by using her comm-sphere to locate her!
Then get me as close as you can!" he yelled out.

 

Kari ran back inside and went to the cockpit. She tapped on the keyboard to Lukya's comm-sphere, trying to find her exact location on the mountain. "Brother, get the airship to this mountain peak." He nodded and flew to the airship to the location. She ran to the deck and looked out. Lukya was fighting against the youths Garik led up the mountain.

 

Daichi didn't hesitate. As the airship got close, he ran towards the edge.
I don't care how much this is gonna hurt, all I know is they're gonna feel ten times worse!
He let his Feril instincts take full control as he started moving on all fours and leaped from the airship. He pulled out Twin LionHeart and threw both blades Between Lukya and her attacks, causing a distraction and giving him more time.
He was shooting through the air at high speed, his fur wild all around him and his fangs bared. His eyes were slits and had a Feril look in them. It was the look he had in his eyes two years ago when he had returned to the mountain. As he had fought alongside Kimahri against Biran and Yenke... and the look in his eyes after he had learnt what Seymour had done.
A look of pure rage and hatred.
He roared out as loud as he could. "Get away from her!"
He drew his fist back and struck out with it as he landed, smashing into a Ronso and flattening him in an instant.
He sprung up, ignoring every ache and pain in his body at what he had just done, and he swiped at another Ronso, knocking him back into a few of his kin.
Then... they were all upon him.

You have no idea how tempted I was to make a semi Gurren Lagann reference and have Daichi shout out: "My Girlfriend is the best in the universe PUNCH!" as he landed... lol

 

"Daichi!!!!!" Lukya shouted, Kari jumped on the mountain and stopped her from running to him. She looked at Kari and looked at Daichi. Gripping her katana, Lukya sighed.

 

It was literally a slaughter fest. Like Beasts versus Beasts, there were no fancy moves, no Ronso Rage abilities, just pure violence and chaos.
They tore at each other. Daichi against all these Ronso opponents, it didn't matter to him how many there were. He wouldn't quit.
"Listen up!" he yelled between attacks. "There aint no way... AND I MEAN NO WAY! In hell!
That I'm gonna let you harm her when she has done nothing wrong!
I don't care about any divide between the races!
I don't care that none of you approve of our relationship!" His mind for a split second wondered to his parents and how their relationship had been frowned upon.
He had claw marks and cuts all over him. His red coat in tatters.
"And I don't care if you think I'm a weak filthy half breed!" In his mind he pictured Luna and Maylene as well.
"I'll prove to you how strong I've become! Like I did two years ago!" He charged into them some more. The snow stained beneath them with blood, both his own and his enemies.
"I will tear through this divide! I will rip open a hole in Spira! And that hole will be a path for those behind us! The dreams of those who've fallen! The hopes of those who'll follow! Those two sets of dreams weave together into a bridge that will link all races alike! That will be the path towards tomorrow!

 

Kari and Lukya watched him fight. Lukya stood in a similar stance when Kari held her two years ago and sighed. She watched him and smiled, tears falling down her face.

 

The last opponent fell... the only two standing now were Daichi and Garik, who so far hadn't even set foot on the battlefield.
He stood fresh, tall and strong.
Daichi, somehow still standing... his fur was stained red too, he was panting heavily and one of his arms was dangling loose at his side.
He grabbed it with the other and relocated it with a horrible crunch... glaring into Garik's eyes at the same time, and Garik glaring into his.

 

Kari knew Lukya won't want to move from her spot and kept holding her to keep her calm. The two watched the combatants get ready to fight. From the deck of the airship, the others watched.
