Final Fantasy X-2: Resolved Dreams

Lukya nodded and smiled. The airship hovered above the entrance, the group looked at the bridge. "So how we gonna do this?" Rikku asked, Yuna whispered, "Um..."

"It's obvious! We nab the head honcho. Then, we make him lead us to Vegnagun, and...checkmate." Leblanc said, Yuna nodded, "Not bad." "I got not problem with this. Our target is the New Yevon praetor, Baralai!" Ormi said, smiling. Lukya sighed, Logos said, "A girly man like that doesn't stand a chance without his escort." "Careful. He's much stronger than he looks." Paine said, everyone looked at her when footsteps could be heard. She said, "Company."

"It's those Youth League spies! We won't have you defile this place like you did in Kilika!" One of the guards shouted, Leblanc said, "Well, good luck!" The trio left the scene. "Good luck?" Yuna asked, as they defeated the guards and moved into the temple. "Geez, things really are a mess, huh?" Rikku said, Yuna nodded, "Yeah." They took the lift down. In the Cloister of Trials, Rikku gasped, "Wait. What are fiends doing in the temple?" "The temples reek of secrets. Don't let a couple of fiends throw you." It was hard for Yuna, Rikku, Lukya, Kari, Daichi, and Ryo who have been in the temple before.

 

"What the hell are we standing around here for" Ryo said. You could tell he was very angry and upset. Bevelle was his home and the temple was special to him. Not waiting for the others Ryo ran forward. "Well he is in a hurry" Gilgamesh said as he ran after him

 

"Ryo, wait for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Yuna ran after Ryo and Gilgamesh, taking out fiends with her Tiny Bee guns. The others followed them, attacking the fiends.

 

Daichi ran with the others as he slashed through fiends in the temple.
Their objective seemed simple enough, and he had liked it... but even though he despised Bevelle, and this had been the place of immense hardship for them in the pilgrimage two years before... he still felt saddened by the state the place was in now, over-run by fiends.

Maylene was with the others too, she had been looking all over the airship at the time and not found Lukya... she didn't think to ask anyone where she had been in her excitement, she hadn't even thought to track her by scent...
Now, on the ground in Bevelle, she fired at fiends with her weapons. She could tell that some of the others were saddened by the sight they were seeing.

Haruka was with the others, but she was staying quiet instead of how she normally was...
It was Bevelle, something was horrible here... it could be Vegnagun or something else... but something was bad... and now being in the Cloister of Trials... her feeling felt worse for some reason.
However... now she couldn't afford to let this feeling overwhelm her... she needed answers and this might be her chance to get them... that, and she couldn't let herself get too distracted because her friends needed her.

 

Lockon gasped as a large fiend came up behind Maylene. "Maylene, look out!!!!!!" He shouted, getting behind her and taking a strong hit to the face. The hit broke the machina glasses on his face, Lockon fell to his knees, hiding his face in his hands, the broken glasses on the ground in front of him. Lukya gasped, "Lockon!!!!!" She tossed her machina mole to the fiend, getting its attention and attacking. Her machina mole managed to land safely on Maylane's shoulder.

 

Maylene turned around immediately.
Her eyes... were cold, and fierce. Like a tigers when completely feril. Her pupils had changed to sharp ovals and her eyes looked strained.
Her fangs were really showing and her hair was so on end, it look like it might shoot out in a second.
She snarled as she leapt forwards, smashing into the fiend with her head and pinning it down despite her size. She aimed her guns into it's gut and start firing continuous magic blasts into it and it had long faded into Pyreflies.
She just sat there... breathing heavily, staring at the floor where the fiend had been moments before.

 

Lockon managed to stand up and get in front of Maylene. A trail of blood from his forehead ran down his face, which revealed the veins that the Guado were usually identified with. He looked at Maylene with a concerned look, "Maylene, are you alright?" Lukya sighed as her machina mole sat itself on Maylene's shoulder.

 

Gilgamesh and Ryo ran side by side "Gilgamesh lets go" Ryo said preparing his sword "Right lets show them the strength of the greatest swordsmen" Gilgamesh proudly yelled as a blue lightning shaped scimitar. "Shin Zantetsuken" the two of them yelled as they suddenly disappeared and reappeared behind the group of fiends. As the two swordsman stood behind the fiends the fiends were suddenly cleaved in two

 

Maylene looked up at Lockon, her face still fierce.
She met his eyes...
"That question should be directed to you." she spoke, her face, eyes and fur turning to normal. Her voice it's usual self with a hint of concern.

 

"I'll be fine. I can always rebuild what was broken. It's just........ I didn't want the one I cared for to get hurt." Lockon said, smiling. Lukya smiled, that sounded like a confession, especially with what Rikku told Dean two years ago. Lukya's machina mole jumped up and down on Maylene's shoulder.

 

Maylene tilted her head to the side.
"I know what you mean... I hate it when someone I care for gets hurt... I either try to keep that from happening... or... well I get a little annoyed..." she said referring to her state before, albeit... that wasn't just 'a little annoyed'.
"Thanks Lockon, you saved me back there." she smiled at him.
...seemingly, it showed that she hadn't understood that he was confessing just moments before..

 

"well if your done talking I suggest we keep on moving before more fiends arrive" Ryo said resting his sword on his shoulder as he looked over at them

 

Lockon nodded and picked up the pieces of his glasses. Yuna nodded and ran ahead. Kari looked at Maylene and pointed at her shoulder, before following Yuna. Rikku and Lukya followed them.

 

Yuji had already transformed into the warrior as CycloneTrigger, shooting the fiends down with wind's power accelerating the bullets until a fiend was behidn him and he removed Trigger's sphere quickly before replacing it with metal, the shaft appearing on his back, blocking it as he swung it, killing the fiend as he twirled the staff around.

 

The group reached the Chamber of the Fayth where was a hole in the statue. Yuna jumped down the hole, the others followed her. "Watch the exit!" She shouted to Leblanc, Leblanc said, "I don't take orders!" But she quickly thought it over and said, "But...I'll make an exception this time. Leave it to us, love!"

 

Daichi and Maylene followed after them and jumped down the hole.

Haruka had been about to when she suddenly felt dizzy and had to stop herself from being sick.
Every fibre in her body... was telling her something was odd... and something... something...
she couldn't be sure... but there was something that made her resist the idea of jumping down.
Regardless, she forced herself despite everything that was stopping her... to jump into the pit.

 

Jumping along side Yuna Ryo landed next to Yuna "how dare they defile the temple like this" Ryo said walking forward "I will make who ever did this pay" Ryo said

 

Yuna nodded at Ryo, though she considered Besaid her home, Bevelle was still her home as well, and she was going hurt those who defiled the temple. Aqua shouted at everyone, "Guys, follow me!!!!!!!!" She slid down a long chain to the security core, deactivating it. The group followed her, surprised that such a young girl knew her way around the place.

 

Yuji followed suit quickly afterwards.

 

"Hey!" Rikku shouted, looking up at the Gaol. "Yunie! That sphere with you-know-who in it. Wasn't it recorded here?" Yuna nodded, looking around, the place did look familiar for sure. Aqua gasped and held her chest, "I........ I have been here before. I know it! With Papa!!!!!!!" "Get your head out of the clouds and move it!" Leblanc shouted. "Besides, there's no way a girl as young as you could have been here before." Leblanc and her henchmen moved on. 'There's a connection. Everything is connected. I can feel it.' Yuna thought to herself, gently taking Aqua's hand.

Aqua continued to lead them down the area. Baralai appeared, he said, "The Gullwings? I was wondering who was there." Yuna didn't say anything, just kept Aqua close at her side. Baralai sighed, "You don't have to tell me. I know why you've come. You're here to destroy the weapon that threatens all Spira: Vegnagun. Am I right? If it could be destroyed we would have done so long ago. But Vegnagun must not be touched. Neither you nor Nooj seem to understand that." You talked to Nooj? Paine asked.

"He...cannot be trusted." Baralai told her, Kari asked, "And you can be?" "Touche. Yes, I suppose Yevon has brought that distrust upon itself. At any rate, you need not interfere. Leave Vegnagun to me." Baralai said with a small smile. Yuna asked, "What are you planning to do?" Baralai readied some kind of spear, he said, "The only thing I can do: Keep those who would seek to harm Vegnagun away. Please leave." "Guys. I'm going." Paine said to the group, Baralai said solemnly, "Paine."
