Final Fantasy VII: Echoes from the Lifestream

"All six are sharp enough", Cloud replied, correcting Barret with a hint of sarcasm to match his jestful comment. His swords where in his bike, he usually didn't carry them around the house. Narrow walls and kids aren't a good combination for large sharp weapons he always thought, but it explained why he kept his bike close.

 

"Either way, they're all huge, and they jus' end up as one big thing anyways." Barret said to him.
"Ya'll heard from Shera 'n Cid lately? I'm wonderin' how the kids are doin' ya know?"

 

Zack sighed, looking at Aerith, "I need to go and find Angeal." he stated, looking at her with a bit of concern. "I'll come back though. I promise." he smiled a little bit, standing up and looking down at Aerith.

 

As Angeal flew ever closer to Midgar, he thought about how he and Zack were even going to go about fixing any of this.
I can already tell that he's going to get overexcited about this...
He recalled their mission in Wutai after Genesis was reported M.I.A. That mission had changed them both greatly, and it crushed most of his dreams. He was flying over the wasteland near Midgar now and he thought about where he would ever look for Zack.

Well, now i'd better get going. If I know Cloud, he probably already left the bar...
Reno walked out in casual clothes, hoping nobody would recognize him as a Turk.

 

Aerith stood up and smiled at him, "I know you will. I'll be waiting for you." She gave him a little kiss on the cheek and smiled. "Now go on. Find Angeal."

Closing the book and taking a bite of the Banora White, the red cloaked SOLDIER took a few steps forward before turning around to face the statue of Minerva and the giant tree that stood behind the statue. Sitting atop the tree's perch was a gigantic red Materia, the Goddess Materia, who gave Genesis the Gift of the Goddess and with it the cure to his degradation. Having finished the dumbapple, he put the book in the pocket of his long red coat and bowed before the statue. "It appears I have much work to do. Don't worry my goddess. I will purge the planet of this taint." Standing back up, Genesis turned towards the direction of the cavern that led out of Banora Underground and proceeded to make his exit towards the surface.

OCC: Sorry for taking so long but my computer is currently being repaired. Right now I'm using my parent's computer which I won't be able to use much but I'll try to be as active as possible.

 

Zack nodded, taking off. He looked upward, wondering how he'd ever find Angeal. When he was a bit of a distance away from the flowerbed he cupped his hands around the sides of his mouth and shouted, "Angeal!" Just to see if he was anywhere nearby.

 

This is gonna be quite a challenge...
Just as Angeal hit Midgar, he heard Zack shouting his name. He wondered where it was coming from so he decided to play along until they found each other. He cupped his hands around his mouth while flying around the area he thought it came from.
"Zack! Where are you? Just tell me and i'll find you!"

Reno walked along the streets looking for Seventh Heaven. Nobody looked twice at him so at least the "disguise" was working well. He scratched his head and kept walking forward.
Man, how far from town did he put us...?

"My apologies, Yuffie. I sometimes forget you bipedaled ones are not as...adept at navigating through rough terrain," Red said, a slight animalistic smile coming to his face.
"And Vincent, I shall leave the choice of splitting up to you," he said, glancing around with his good eye, "But it would seem that we have already lost track of our foul-mouthed pilot." Nanaki wasn't concerned about Cid's safety, since they would probably hear his language if anything attacked, but the older man wasn't in view anymore.

"Cid's with the others in Midgar, so we'll probably run into them soon," Tifa said, and looking at Cloud, added, "Cloud thinks the kids are fine since he hasn't gotten a call, so I'm sure everyone's fine."
Moving away from the bar, she said, "Ready to head out?"

 

OOC: My first post as Cid, Hope this is ok.

"Well this is great I go one way and they all go another way." Cid had been with Vincent, Yuffie, and Nanaki, but getting tired of hearing Yuffie’s complaining he had waited till when no body was looking and went to a different part of what was left of Midgar, looking at the ruins of the city, Cid started to think about the city and what happened to it. "Still can't get over how huge Shinra made this city, now it’s just a bunch of ruins. Bet Shinra never thought this would be what would happen to their city they had worked so hard on building, Midgar ended up being the only thing that got destroyed by meteor thanks to Cloud, me, and the others. The others I should I probably go and find them, before they go looking for me, for trying to find me in what’s left of this city would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack."

 

Zack sighed, looking around him, "In the slums!" he shouted, looking upward for Angeal.

Vincent looked around, "He will catch up later. For now let's just focus on what we're suppose to do."

Yuffie looked around at her surroundings. Rubble everywhere, buildings falling apart. She had no idea what she was going to do if they didn't find what they needed. "Well, this ninja is getting tired of walking around rough terrain. What is it we're looking for exactly anyways?" Just as she finished she tripped on a rock and stumbled over. "Owww."

 

The slums...? Why would he...?
Angeal flew around finding the slums and searching for a sign of his beloved pupil. He saw a church with a hole in the ceiling. He figured it couldn't hurt to look inside. He saw Zack with a smile across his face. He smiled and flew down to greet him, surprised that there was a girl with him.
"Well, Zack... who's your friend?"
He looked at Aerith, a wide grin on his face and a subtle smile on hers.
"Sorry if he's been causing trouble for you. I know it was a constant problem when he was with me..."
He laughed, just a little bit. It was good to see him like this. He seemed happy.

Well, well... this place hasn't changed a bit.
He looked up at the bar and hesitated to walk inside. What would everyone say when they saw him? Would Cloud get mad and kick him out, or worse... Would he tell Rude or Mr. Shinra? Just the thought of that last scenario scared the crap out of him, but it was a bit too late. He began to walk to the door, noticing that it was open. He quietly walked inside.

 

Cloud noticed Reno enter the bar through the front door. The instant he set foot in the place Cloud stood up straight, looking directly at him, aiming for eye level, and told him firmly "Get out". His voice didn't miss a beat. There was no knowing what Shinra was up to or how much he might be involved. Reno wasn't welcome if Rufus was up to something.

 

Nanaki chuckled at Yuffie's complaints. "We are merely scouting, I suppose. Making sure there are none of those "super monsters" within the city, and perhaps see if we can uncover anything Shinra has hidden."

Tifa put a hand on Cloud's arm. "Wait, Cloud," she said softly to him. Turning her eyes on Reno, she said, "It's way too early for you to have clocked out for the day. You'd better have a good reason to be here."

 

"Yeah, or you bes' be prepared to dance." Barret added, pounding his machine hand into his open palm.

 

Yuffie hopped back onto her feet. "Well if it's just that, I'll just scout on ahead." Yuffie jumped on some rubble and past the two. "I'll let you know if I see anything." With that, she turned around and tripped on another rock. "Oww, why is my balance so off today." She got up and dusted herself off. Then she looked downward. What she first thought was just a bunch of rocks turned out to be a metal door. Then she looked up and noticed she was just in front of the Shinra Building. "Hey guys! I think I found something!"

 

"She's not changed in the least," Nanaki said, sighing. He moved forward, easily finding footholds in the rubble and broken streets. Bounding up the piles of concrete, he came to a stop beside Yuffie.
He growled slightly. "It has been a long time since I last saw this miserable building..."

 

Reno wasn't surprised at Cloud's reaction, or Tifa's for that matter. He was used to having his motives questioned based on the fact that he was a Turk. Sad fact that he could never dream of just walking up to a guy, especially this guy, and popping in for a drink without getting kicked out... but that was beside the point.
"Actually, Mr. Shinra has no idea that i'm here. In fact, if he DID find out, i'm sure he'd kill me. I just figured you might know a thing or two about those monsters popping up near the Edge."
He looked at Cloud. Knowing him, he wouldn't be believed easily, though Tifa would probably help with that. He started to scratch his head and looked at the two of them.
"Er... also, I kinda had to walk all the way here from an abandoned part of town. Ya think I could maybe get a drink? After all, this IS a bar."

 

Tifa glanced up to Cloud's eyes. He looked like he was about to kill Reno, so she grabbed his arm and pulled him along with her as she went behind the bar counter. "Tell us what you know, Reno, and you might get a drink."
She wasn't in the mood to see Cloud or Barret toss out the Turk, and she hoped he had information that would help them. "I guess I'll ask first...exactly how involved is Shinra in this new mess?"
