Possibly the most underrated Final Fantasy movie. Why more people haven't watched this I'll never know, but it is an AMAZING movie. Probably better than Advent Children. The graphics are amazing, the story is great, and you don't actually need to have played any game prior to watching it to understand what's going on. I've seen it once, and already it is at the top of my favorite movies list. If you haven't seen it, definitely buy it. I got it for my PSP for five bucks, so even if you end up hating it it's not a gigantic loss. Discuss.
GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY D: Oh man, this is actually one of my favourite films ever, and it is so underappreciated D: seriously, everyone faps off to Advent Children but this, this film is remarkable. The graphics for one thing are beyond beautiful, like seriously breathtaking. The plot is very good IMO and the characters whilst not incredibly developed are still extremely well done. Like most films though, it does make me cry, like proper cry my eyes out and yell at the screen cry. I got it real cheap too from HMV forever ago. One of the best impulse buys I have ever had.
I have not seen or heard of this. I am aware of advent children, but never seen it. How good is this movie?
I first watched it on channel 5 a year after it came out and was like "That's Final Fantasy?" then I looked at my copy of FFIX and sat in confusion for a while. I liked the film but the whole point was that its to be a final fantasy and it didn't hold many of those aspects from my look at it. It would of just worked as Spirits Within but they tacked Final Fantasy on it probably to get people to watch it. Good film, underrated and a bit of a false lead to what its about.
I had seen it when I was little, but I didn't like it. And it's not only me, but everyone whom I've heard talking about it didn't like it either. I don't think it compares to Advent Children. I don't have anything to support my opinion, I don't even remember it- what it was like and what the story was like.
I really need to get the DVD version, if the PSP format was amazing then I'm expecting that the DVD is like...orgasmic. They made it in a way where you didn't really need to know a gigantic backstory, and to be honest that probably would've confused me more. Gray and Aki's relationship was deep even though it wasn't addressed much as to what happened, but still. D: And yeah, this is the second movie that ever made me cry. Also thank you for being online or else I probably would've had a meltdown. xDD Agreed. I should impulse buy more often if it ends up like this. 8D If you're into sci-fi and action and excellent graphics you'll love it. It's like an alternate reality Earth, but not really. More futuristic than alternate. I'd suggest renting it if you can, at least. It's because it was a Square project. And I think they're going with the notion that Final Fantasy isn't just like a video game, but can be a totally different reality all together. Like none of the games have anything to do with each other, so it really doesn't surprise me that it's under the FF name. It's got a lot of elements of the games, like mythical things, crazy ass weapons, strong lead characters, and monsters that are weird but not pushing it. Also I'd like to say that there's a lot of stuff in the game series that's very wtf. For example, Chocobo's Dungeon. This movie is more Final Fantasy than that game ever will be. B|
This movie is proof as to what can truly be accomplished with CGI in terms of storytelling and characterization. Nothing.
Hello there ignorance, what are you doing here? Cartoons aren't the be all and end all of everything you know.
i never seen spirits within so im staying with that advent children is the best but thats intill i end up seeing Spirits within
How can you say AC is better than Spirits Within when you haven't seen it? :c You can say it is a good film (which it is) but you can't compare the two until you have seen Spirits Within as well. It is definitely worth the watch.
This. Yeah, I like Advent Children. But as a person that never got a chance to play the original game to truly understand the backstory, I had to watch it like three times to finally understand everything. B| You don't have that problem with Spirits Within, because it's all self-explanitory.
You're certainly right. This is still a terribly animated movie that deserved its response and more. I mean, the animation is so bad, they move and look like mannequins (like Beowulf or Polar Express)! :S What was the point? It would've been easier to just film the thing in live-action, with CGI special effects here and there when needed.
To tell u the truth....it was a pretty good movie....but it wasn`t what i expected it was goin got be.
Saw it a long time ago. Can't remember much of it, but it was odd to see so much more sci-fi than actual fantasy.
I think it was pretty awesome for how long ago they did it. And not everything has to be done in a certain way, they were thinking outside of the box. I got it from block buster since it had the name Final Fantasy on it, (and I couldn't name any other movie, that I haven't already seen, they had at the time and I was rushed...) But I was thankful I got it. Really got me out of my creative slump for more than a week. (which is something) And I still think back on it. I'd like to see it again since it's been so long, I'm forgeting details from it. ._. (Still can remember most of it since I have awesome visual memory...ahem, braging >.>) Anyway, back on track, it was a really nice movie that got my attention...all that I have to say...
