Ffx: getting anima and celestial mirror

okay so two problems: numero uno

the celestial mirror-
So we did what we're supposed to about talking to the mother and child and getting the father to come back from camp. Everything should be all good but it's not. once you get onto the crystal path there is a woman blocking the intersection m ask ing it so you can't go north to talk to the little boy and change the cloudy mirror into the celestial mirror. The strategy gyide doesn't mention this person and says you should just be able to do it. Does anyone no how to make her move? She talks aboyt the macalania temple and how there used to be a trew blocking that path so she couldn't use before.​

So we didn't know that we needed to do all the destruction sphere stuff for the cloister of trials to get anima at the tine we were doing them. The only ones we got out of the six necessary were shiva at macalania and bahamut at bevelle, now it's time to go fight sin and we want anima but all the temples are blocked off because we're traitors. Is there still some way we can get back inside so we can get anima or are we screwed out of getting? Which then means we can't get the magus sisters since we need all the other aeons to get those lovely bug women.​

The mother should be telling you her husband is missing or something. Exit the forest (right path), get to the four-way crossroads, follow the upper way. Talk to the husband here and pick the "tell him where his wife is" option. Get back to the mother, talk to her and to her husband. Now her son is missing. Take the rainbow track that starts just above the save point and follow it going north, it should lead to the kid.

The only temple that is forever unaccessible at that point is Bevelle (Bahamut), but fortunately you couldn' t possibly miss its sphere (you had to take it to exit the temple, there was no way around it). The others temples are "merely" protected by Dark Aeons (Besaid and Macalania). If those Dark Aeons are way too tough for you, and that for some reason you don' t mind cheating your way through the only tough bosses of that game, then just know that you can summon Yojimbo and give him a million gils, for so much money he' ll one-shot anything.

 

We've talked to the mother, we've talked to the father, we've talked to both parents together, but once we go up the crystal path, there is a woman blocking the north route of the path. So we can't get to the son.

I understand the thing about the dark aeons, but how do you get around the gaurds blocking all of the temples to go back inside? There are momks and crusaiders at each of the temple entrances?

 

Weird. Have you tried to reach him the other way around (taking the rainbow road from its north entry, near the shop) ?

You have to beat the local Dark Aeons first :

If for some reason your game doesn' t unfold as in those videos and you can' t fight the Dark Aeons then that means you have the normal version of the game, not the international version. If that' s the case then yes, you may very well be screwed, I wouldn' t know. Try finding a normal version walkthrough.
