Fat PS2 life-span?

I was reading in the Gameshark help thread and I read that PS2's don't last long so I'm wondering what's the average life-span because I've had mine for 7 years

 

Mine died in 3years
I got a Slim now.​

 

3 years for me, but that might've been because i played it crazy for hours on straight. when the laser died out on me, i sent it to Sony for repairs for about $40. i did this twice i believe, but i really don't see it happening again since there isn't much to play on the PS2 anymore.

 

I've had mine for seven years as well, and I use it a LOT. It still works perfectly, except it needs a replacement A/V cord because the old one keeps making the sound seem distant and the video feed flicker.

 

I've had mine for 9 years and never had a single problem with it. I play it frequently, though nowadays, only once everyother day or so.

 

My bulky PS2 is eight years old and still going strong.
The first one I had didn't last long though but then again it got stolen.

 

7 Years, no problems.

 

i dont remember the years exactly but i had mine mahybe 4-7 years..... idk

but i have a modded slim now! :P

 

i acutally bought one and the first day it broke xD i got a refund though and my second one lasted for 4 years, now ive just recently got a slim for kh2​

 

I've had mine since the first year it came out, and it still works perfectly. I think it depends on how much you play it so I guess it varies.

 

Mine's been kicking for four years, and it was a refurb.

I've had mine for around 9 years and it still works and all, as I had to take it back out to play RE: CoM. Had the laser go misaligned once which I fixed and since then it's been fine.
