Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Roxas chuckled, lowering his eyes to look down at the blonde leaning against him. "By the side-effects, I think 'tickle-torture' is an accurate title," he said with a triumphant smirk. He was done tickling for a while; Namine had a lot of it lately.

 

Namine let out a short laugh, her breathlessness still coming through by her actions and her heavy breathing. "No kidding!" she managed, still leaning into Roxas heavily. Torture was a good way to describe it, because it was miserable for her to go through, especially twice in one day. But she had really asked for it this second time, so she wasn't overly upset.

 

Roxas's smirk turned into a small smile. His arms were wrapped around Namine's back, one of his hands reaching to her upper arm. He rubbed it gently with his arms still enclosing her, a silent breath leaving him. Things were beginning to calm down, and he was okay with that.

 

Namine leaned her head on Roxas' shoulder when she felt him rub her arm, the girl releasing a softer breath. She and Roxas were even now, so it was only natural that things would begin to calm down. As much as she loved the goofiness they had experienced earlier, she was glad for a break.

 

Roxas hadn't noticed until now, but Namine's skin was fairly cold. "How long were you outside for?" he asked quietly, the boy bringing his head back and looking down to get a better look at her. "Your skin's a little cold."

 

Namine opened her eyes, pulling back her head a little bit so that she could see Roxas' face. It took her a moment of recollection to remember how long she had been waiting for Roxas in the tree-house. "Hmm...maybe five to ten minutes before you came out, and then five minutes more after you came inside." It had felt like an eternity to her at the time because of the cold weather, though.

 

Roxas rubbed Namine's arm a little more, attempting to warm her up. "Mm," he hummed in response, not really knowing what to say to that. Hopefully she wouldn't get sick, but she had her coat and such on, so maybe that helped more than he thought.

 

Namine was aware that Roxas' hand felt warm compared to the skin on her arm, and she quickly connected the dots that he was worrying about her catching a cold from the chilly weather. She had considered it, but she hadn't really taken the idea seriously when she was out there, concerned about the game she and Roxas were playing.

 

"You want a blanket or something?" Roxas asked then, still moving his hand along Namine's upper arm. "I can make you some hot chocolate or something. I could go for one too." He smiled warmly down at her, his goofiness wearing off. In the back of his mind, he was worried that he wouldn't get it back.

 

Namine smiled softly, hearing the genuine care in Roxas' tone of voice. "I have an idea," she started. "How about you start a fire in the fireplace in the living room, and I'll get the hot chocolates and a blanket?" The idea had just randomly popped into her mind at that moment, but she felt it was an idea worth pursuing.

 

Roxas nodded once, smile still in place. "'Kay," he agreed. His hand stopped against Namine's skin and he slowly released her, eyes still on her.

 

Namine smiled softly, slowly releasing Roxas at the same time that he began to. But she didn't feel right leaving his embrace without one more thing occurring. She lifted a hand and set it on the front of Roxas' shoulder, standing on her toes slightly as she gave the blond boy a peck on the cheek. She had done that a few times since he returned home, but they had yet to kiss on the lips. But she wasn't in a rush; it would happen at the right moment.

 

Roxas felt his smile grow, his teeth showing slightly before his lips covered them again. His arms were down at his sides now, but he motioned with his head down the hall, toward the living room and kitchen. Namine's idea sounded nice, so he was ready to get it underway.

 

Namine's smile softened and she looked behind her slightly, seeing her coat lying on the ground. "Let me put away my jacket first," she started. "Then I'll do my share of the work." She felt a smirk start to appear on her lips, the girl pulling her arms back to her sides. She wasn't sure if Roxas knew where the firewood or the lighter was, so she was about to give him that information.

 

Roxas's eyes fell on the coat and his smile dimmed a little. He lifted his hand to the back of his head. "Oh, right," he muttered, having forgotten everything but himself and Namine for the moment. That happened more than he originally thought.

 

Namine offered Roxas one last smile before she turned around and walked a step, bending down and then lifting her coat off the ground. Once she was done this simple chore, she would get started on the hot chocolate. "Oh," she said, turning around when she remembered that something had been on the tip of her tongue a few moments ago. "There's some firewood in the basement. I'll get the lighter out of the kitchen cabinet and set it on the counter for you."

 

Roxas nodded once, his arm coming back to his side. "Okay," he replied softly. He offered Namine a faint smile before starting down the hallway, heading in the direction of the door that led to the basement.

 

Namine kept a small smile on her face as she took a few steps forward, walking into her bedroom. First, she hung up the coat in her closet, sure that it would stay on the hanger. Then she recalled that she had unlocked the window earlier, and that needed to be relocked. She headed over and performed the action without trouble, turning around to head to the kitchen once that was completed.

 

The door to the basement was near the living room, and Roxas entered without hesitance. He wasn't scared of dark basements, not after all he had experienced lately. He resided in darkness, anyway. The boy frowned at the thought, but made his way to the pile of firewood near a wall. He filled his arms with a couple pieces before starting back up the steps.

 

Namine entered the kitchen less than a minute later, first opening a cabinet to look for a lighter Roxas could use. The one she was looking for was sitting on the top shelf, naturally. She rolled her eyes and set a hand on the counter, reaching up high for it. But it was just out of her reach.
