Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Wordlessly, Roxas looked down at Ty and smirked, only receiving a bark from the dog. Then, seeing that Namine had made it through the doorway, Roxas took off after her, running through the room to catch her.

 

Namine entered the hall, passing by a closet and her bedroom. She wasn't sure where to go to get away from Roxas, or if she even could get away, but she would try anyway. She skidded to a halt and then turned around back into her bedroom a few steps away, entering the room and shutting the door behind her. She had an idea, but she wasn't sure if it would work.

 

Roxas entered the hall just in time to see the door shut last minute and hear the thud it made when it did so. He smirked, jogging down the hall to the door. "Oh, Namine!" he called, slowing his pace and silently approaching her bedroom.

 

Namine smirked and spun around quickly, locking the bedroom door. She was sure Roxas wouldn't break it down, so she had nothing to worry about. But she wasn't planning on staying in that room, anyway. She hurried over to her closet and pulled out a pair of snow-boots, eyes wandering to the window as she began putting them on. Roxas would never suspect she climbed out a window, so it would be fun to mess with his head.

 

Roxas sneaked up to the door, stopping before bringing his knuckles and knocking on the wood. "Nam, I know you're in there," he said with a smirk. Hiding from him wouldn't be easy, she knew that.

 

Namine stifled a giggle, finishing tying her boots. She stood up and pulled a coat out of her closet, putting it on quickly. Roxas hadn't tried to open the door yet, which was surprising. But he could open it in a few moments. She went over to the window, undid the lock, and then pushed it up as high as it could go before she did the same with the screen. Once that was done, she headed over to the door to unlock it. Hopefully he wouldn't turn the knob for a few moments and wait until she was outside and had the window shut again behind her.

 

"Namine," Roxas sung playfully, staring at the door. "C'mon, don't make me come in and get you." His threats were all in good fun, and there was no doubt she knew that. But still, doing this was pretty amusing.

 

Namine undid the look and then hurried over to her window, glancing at the door briefly before she carefully climbed out. She dropped about a foot onto the snow covered ground and then reached up high, first pulling the glass window down and then the screen. There! She had actually done it!

 

Roxas crossed his arms, tilting his head and feeling somewhat like an idiot as he stared at the door. Oh well, it was all for fun. "We can do this the easy way or the hard way. You know I won't hesitate tickling you like crazy once I get in there." He was being patient, giving her the chance to open the door. He would give her ten more seconds. After that, he would just have to walk in...if the door wasn't locked.

 

Namine giggled, feeling proud of herself for coming up with such a clever idea. She ran to her left, heading towards the side of the house and then turning so that she could get to the backyard. There was a tree-house behind the garden; maybe she could get there. But she had no idea what she would do if she actually made it that far.

 

Roxas mentally counted back from ten, and when he finally reached one, he put his hand on the knob and turned it. He was half-expecting it to be locked, but it wasn't. He slowly pushed the door open, stepping in. But...there was nobody there. "Huh?" he said without thought, arching an eyebrow.

 

Namine saw a cloud in front of her, formed by her own breath. She shivered, both because of the cold air and because of the excitement she felt for getting away from Roxas. She made it to the backyard and then ran through the snow to the best of her ability towards the garden. She heard Ty bark from inside of the house, and she turned her head to see him standing up at a window. Any other time she would have scolded him for clawing up the windowsill, but right now, she had to hurry to keep away from Roxas!

 

Roxas ignored the barking when he heard it, instead stepping further into Namine's room. He scanned the room in silence and saw no sign of her. Then his eyes landed on the closet, and he immediately smirked. Roxas sneaked over to the closet and put his hand on the door. "Aha!" he cried, opening it. "...Huh?" Namine wasn't in there, only clothes hanging inside.

 

Namine glanced at Ty one last time before she ran into the garden, disappearing behind the snow-covered fences and various decorations. She could see the tree-house coming up, but it would take her a minute to get there because of the increasingly deep snow. The wind must have been blowing towards the backyard more, because there were about eight inches now.

 

Roxas made his way to the bathroom, peeking in to see a blank space. "Namine?" he called, walking out of her room. She was just in here... He stepped out into the hall, Ty's bark reaching his ears once more. "Namine!" he yelled again, cupping one hand around his mouth. While he looked in each room he passed, Roxas followed the sound of Ty's continuous barking.

 

Namine finally reached the tree-house, a smile on her lips the whole time. She was sure Roxas must have discovered she wasn't in her room by now, but that was fine as long as he didn't quickly figure out her destination. She put a foot on the ladder and started climbing up, seeing snowflakes begin falling out of the sky as she got nearer and nearer to her safe haven.

 

Roxas scratched the side of his head in confusion as he walked through the house, following the sound of Ty's barks. He turned a corner and saw the dog pawing at a window. "What is it, boy?" he asked, stopping next to the dog. Ty looked up at him and then back out the window, barking and pawing again. Roxas arched a brow, turning his head to gaze out at the snow-covered ground.

 

Namine climbed up into the tree-house and then turned around, overlooking the yard. Nope, Roxas hadn't come outside yet. But she could see her footprints in the snow! There was only one thing left she could do to protect herself from Roxas' tickle-torture: pull up the ladder. She reached down slightly and grabbed one of the rungs, using it to help her get started pulling it up.

 

"Out there?" Roxas asked, looking down at the dog again. When Ty barked and pawed at the window once more, a whine also escaping him, Roxas returned his sight outside. His arched eyebrow came down and he turned, making his way through the house and approaching the front door. He slipped on his shoes and grabbed his coat. Roxas then headed for the back door.

 

Namine was about halfway done pulling it up when she felt a slippery step, and the whole thing slipped out of her grasp and fell back down to the ground. She groaned in disbelief, looking down at the hanging ladder. She'd have to start all over again.
