Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Kairi turned her head to look at Sora, a soft smile forming on her lips. She couldn't deny that she wanted to sleep. Not only because she was exhausted, but also because she didn't want to remember this day. She wanted it to end as quickly as possible, since it didn't hold the best memories.

Roxas felt a smile appear on his face, a single chuckle leave him. "I wouldn't doubt it. I'm exhausted." And sore, he added mentally. He was sure with a little sleep it would wear off, considering he had been running on pure adrenaline lately.

 

"Somebody can take my bed and the one in the guest bedroom," Sora said, looking over his three friends before he looked to his girlfriend. He felt like the girls should take the beds, just because he wanted them taken care of. And then Roxas and Riku could take the couches, if they didn't mind the girls using the beds. As for himself...

 

"Kairi and Namine," Riku said without missing a beat, volunteering the girls to take the beds. He would be fine out here; the living room was more comfortable than sleeping in the gummi ship or on the ground, like he was used to.

Kairi turned her head a little to gaze at where Riku was sitting, the girl's smile fading. Somehow, she should have expected that from at least one of the guys.

Roxas opened his eyes and brought his head off the back of the couch, immediately nodding in agreement. The girls needed to take the beds. It just felt like the right thing to do.

 

"...Are you guys sure?" Namine asked hesitantly, glancing at Riku and Sora before she looked to Roxas. "I'd be fine on a couch." She was sure that Kairi was thinking the same thing she was; the boys were hurt, so they should have some place comfy to rest, like a bed. She and Kairi didn't really need the comfort, though, and she really didn't care if she slept on a couch or even on the floor.

 

Roxas turned his gaze to the girl beside him and nodded a little. "Yeah," he said, verbally backing up his decision. It didn't matter to him where he slept, just as long as he got some rest. But he wanted Namine to be comfortable, and that was most likely in a bed.

Riku nodded as well, looking from Namine to Kairi. His look was set, his decision made up. He would stay out here, preferring that the girls got rest in one of the beds.

Kairi pressed her lips together, agreeing with what Namine said. But it seemed like she didn't really have a choice.

 

Namine looked to Kairi, immediately seeing that her friend's facial expression reflected her feelings. She gave her a look as if to say, Should we try to convince them that they need the beds? They had fought Smith; both the girls had seen the hits that they took in battle...

 

Kairi felt a gaze on her and turned her eyes to meet Namine's. She immediately registered what her friend's look meant, and she nodded slightly. She didn't feel right taking the beds from the boys, who deserved more comfort than she did.

 

Namine registered Kairi's look, and that along with the nod confirmed that they were in agreement. "...We think you guys should take the beds," she said, looking around at the three different boys in the room. Considering that they were injured, not only would the beds be more comfortable, but it would also help them recover more quickly. At least, that was how she saw it.

Sora shook his head slightly at Namine's words; he wouldn't take a bed from somebody else; he felt as if the girls should have the most comfort. He always wanted to make Kairi comfortable in that way, and he was sure the same applied for Roxas and Namine.

 

"And we think that you two should take the beds," Roxas replied, looking from Namine to Kairi. It really wasn't a big deal where he slept, but he wanted the girls to get a good night's sleep after all they had been through today.

"We know," Kairi said softly, nodding a little bit. "But we think it'd be better if you guys did. You guys need the beds more than we do." They were hurt, after all. It wouldn't make any sense for them to sleep on the couches when they were already injured; it would only make things worse for them.

 

Namine nodded in agreement, her head coming off of Roxas's shoulder. She knew that this discussion wasn't going to be easy; sometimes, those guys were too stubborn for their own good. She was honestly wondering if she and Kairi could get through to them, since they were stubborn as mules when it came to stuff like this.

 

Roxas looked from the girls to Sora and Riku. Obviously, this wasn't going to be as easy as he thought. He was going to need some help here.

Riku made a motion with his hand. "Either way, I'm staying out here," he admitted. He would feel better sitting up anyway, because of his chest injury. It was up to Sora and Roxas to settle this one.

 

"I'd sleep on the floor before I took a bed from somebody else," Sora confessed, looking from Namine to Kairi. He wouldn't feel right, using a bed when Kaiir or Namine could use it. Their comfort always came before his own, and besides, he didn't care if he did have to sleep on the floor. It looked like a possibility, since there would be one person without a place to sleep if two people took the beds and two took the couches.

 

Kairi met Sora's gaze and looked at him for a moment before she turned her sight back to the floor. She could tell by the look in his eyes that he was serious, but so was she. And so were Namine and Roxas. At this rate, they were all going to be sleeping in the same room.

 

"Kairi, I want you to take my bed," Sora said softly, knowing that she wasn't happy that he wouldn't take it willingly. "Please?" He wasn't going to sleep there, so he hoped that Kairi could enjoy its comfort for the night. And if she didn't take it right away, he'd wait till she was asleep and then pick her up and carry her to his room so she could sleep in his bed. Really, she didn't have much of a choice.

 

Kairi heard Sora's words, the last one making her smile weakly. "I guess I don't really have a choice, huh?" she asked gently, turning to meet his gaze with the same smile. When Sora was determined, he never gave in. Sometimes, he didn't even give up for Kairi. It seemed that way now.

 

Sora smiled softly, shaking his head a little bit at Kairi's question. "Nope." She never stood a chance against him; he wouldn't allow her to sleep any place where she could be uncomfortable. He was just glad that she had realized that and not argued it any further.

 

Kairi's smile dimmed a little, the girl holding Sora's gaze a little longer before she turned her eyes to look at Namine. She shrugged her shoulders slightly, allowing herself to lose this one. After all, she didn't have a choice. It was either sleep in the bed, or have Sora continue to insist she took it. He was already tired, she could tell, which meant she didn't want him to waste his breath on telling her to take the bed when she could simply do it and be done with it.

 

Namine smiled weakly at Kairi, knowing that her friend hadn't had any other choice. The blond wasn't sure yet if hope was lost for her and Roxas; she really did want him to take a bed instead of taking a couch. She shifted her gaze to him, her eyes expressing her thoughts.

 

Roxas looked from Kairi to Namine, then meeting the blonde's eyes. He shook his head, already knowing what she was thinking. He wasn't taking the extra bed; she was. He didn't want it any other way.

 

Namine sighed softly, seeing Roxas's response to what she was thinking. She didn't stand a chance against him on this one, just like Kairi didn't have a chance against Sora. She had no choice but to give in, and to take the bed in the gust bedroom.
