    I voted neither. I think its both the people's and the restaurant's fault. Like you said I agree, people who eat there should know better and work out but at the same time;

Why are restaurant's selling such unhealthy food in the first place? The add health food to their menu but still the majority of it is unhealthy and even the healthy is unhealthy.

Fast Food is really there for people that are traveling or that are on the run. Yet, most people go there because they want that rather than something healthy.
So it's really both. The fast food industries and the people. Fast Food isn't healthy AT ALL in the first place and people would rather go there for lunch than go to somewhere healthier.

I think it's the people themselves getting up and deciding to go to McDonald's and getting a "Big Mac"

But I'm in the mood for one right now.

Definately the people. The wrappers at mcdonalds along with other places have nutritional facts on the side. They know what they're getting themselves into.

I agree about it being the people. I feel sorta sorry for them being unable to help themselves eating this fattening food...
I suppose it's probably the parent's fault as well.

I chose the second option because it's up to the consumer for their own mistakes. If they get fat that is their own problem since they have no will power or self control. Everyone has a choice so people can't blame it on fast food industry just because it's advertised.

Oh, well a lot of places do. But it's pretty much common sense that eating a double cheeseburger is not good for you. It's not a problem for people who don't get fat from it, so if you know you're getting fat from eating McDonalds, it's up to you to control yourself.

    *Sigh*

It's the people. Persuasive advertising exists in all industries, but no one is forcing you to buy. Trying to blame the franchises is idiotic.

Definately the people. Fast Food=food that tastes good. (who doesn't agree...rite? Ok...most of the time...)Not necessarily healthy but not much other foods out there are much healthier. If people can start varying their diets and manage what they eat more properly, obesity wouldn't be a big problem. All in all, the fast food industry provides the material but it wasn't meant for harm. It's the people that made the product harmful amongst themselves.

I think it's the people's fault for eating too much fast food and not exercising to burn the fat off.

You can't really blame the Fast Food industry for trying to make money. It's products that humans crave which will really sell. Do you think that if Burger King or McDonalds had served only healthy foods, they would be as successful as they are today? Nope. Honestly, it's to the fault of those who decide to eat too much of fast food junk and become obese. USA is known for this in particular. It's probably the country that eats fast food the most. People need to learn how to simply control their diet and eat healthier foods. Instead, they gain too much weight and blame it on the companies for trying to make a profit.

Basically, it is the consumer's fault.

Fast food shouldn't be eaten as often as it is today. It's suppose to be a treat, a once in a while thing. It's not really the fast food industries' fault, though the food's not always healthy, you can usually find a salad on the menu, along with fruit juice.

Hey. Let me give you an example.

I love McDonalds. I... ****ing love it. So good. But I only eat there like once or twice every three months since my parents say they "don't have any money".

So I don't eat McDonalds for a while, eat my mom's good food - oh yes pancit canton, adobo, dumplings, fried chicken, New York sandwiches, aroscaldo, longanesa, crabs, some kinds of soup, etc. asian food. And McDonalds is gone. I don't think about it at all. No appetite whatsoever for anything off its kitchens.

I come along (with mom or dad, since I have no car) for a drive to the library. I ride back home. McDonalds is by the street home. For an instant a thought, as if by instinct, shoots through my mind. I WANT SOME CHIKAN SELECTS. GARR. WITH COKE. AND BARBECUE SAUCE. AND FRENCH FRIES. Then I come back from that daydream of being in the McDonalds restaurant and note how it's past the intersection to the street to my house. I remember how my parents don't really have much money. I remember how people(television, reports, doctors, that one movie with the guy who eats McDonalds for a long time) say that fast food is unhealthy. And I stay quiet, gently taking away that thought, not asking mom or dad "Can we go to McDonalds?"

So who's at fault here? I believe it's the fault, or effect, of your influences. Those that you talk with/to, shows you watch, games you play, people who take care of you(or the opposite). Your mom or guardian(or you. You lazy bum. Go ask your mom how to cook already) could've made some delicious [insert good food] for the family, instead of taken you to the fast food restaurant.

Now that's not to say they are the sole causes. The taste of the food might've been made so good, it's irresistable. It's partly the industrys' fault for creating goods like that. With good intentions skewered by greed and the possibility of profit, it's difficult to see any good in them. But it's better to offer suggestions or resist than go all angry mob. They might one day make right and offer the real food of the old days.

I say the industry, by the way. They could've just not been there. :v No really fat people in wherever there's no fast food restaurant. Since there's only one you can pick. But I believe it's both. One can resist, but the industry could've also made healthier tasty food.
