At least Lost World had some memorable characters (namely the villains. Especially that hunter guy, he was cool) where as 3 had some bland forgettable annoying people with no real substance to them.

And it didn't even really have a proper villain. The Spinosaurus fails as an antagonist as it doesn't really seem like an overarching threat but rather more like a random monster encounter. Even the raptors in the first movie which only show up at about the last third of the movie are better antagonists. Even the raptors in 3 are better villains the Spinosaurus and they aren't really even villains! They just want their eggs back. There was also a lack of a human villain which is something the movie could of had. Maybe make the Kirby's the villains.

3 also suffers from the cardinal sequel sin of splitting up a romantic relationship of two characters from a previous movie for no reason. I mean, did Grant and Ellie need to be separated? What was even the point?

Lost World also had a few cool scenes while 3 lacks such scenes. 3 had this.

I'm not saying Lost World is a good movie, it isn't. But I'd rather watch it than 3.

I have more issues with 3 but I think I'll leave this be.
