Yeah but there's a limit. I mean, the SC devs promised there'd be an explanation for how people can clash swords with crazy space warriors swinging around lasers. And then they basically went "Lol it's Star Wars + Soul Calibur do you really care :L" The problem is, I do. It's weird and it breaks the immersion.

Plus the Star Wars characters were cheap as hell. I believe Darth Vader was banned at some point.

...Uh? Why would they travel to other galaxies? What would be the point?

Anyway I think they entered a wormhole or somesuch. Yeah, it was kind of a cop-out. Then again, Heihachi falls asleep in a hot spring and wakes up in feudal Japan.

Yes, he found a time-traveling hot spring. Suck it, Harvey Birdman.

Yeah, and it's also set in the present day. With zero indication of time-travel capabilities. How doesn't Kratos make sense, besides the fact that he could probably kill them all in a matter of seconds? I can't imagine there's much focus on the time and place in the God of War games.

Actually, I'd say it's a pretty natural fit. Guard Impacts are a thing, and I can imagine Ezio having some command-Impacts with follow-up attacks. I'm wondering how much they'll use his sword versus his knives, though.

Oh jeez. And wasn't there an unlockable Altair costume in MGS4, too?

Also Spawn and Necrid. Necrid is not a guest character in the traditional sense; he is unique to the Soul Calibur universe, but was created by Todd McFarlane. He featured in Soul Calibur II on all platforms and used a morphing weapon and a mesh of other characters' styles. Apparently his design was aimed at attracting North American players.

    Oh gawd goofy as fuuuuck.

I dunno, the additions seem really insubstantial at this stage. The weapon effects are nice, and I do like the scars. I also like that physical features are individually customizable now. The decals, patterns, and prop placement seem like they're asking to be abused. I don't want to fingerpaint on my characters, thanks. What I'd rather they work on is the fact that all the character models look bulky and none of the clothes or armor clings realistically to them. The shirts and pants look like they have tiny magnetic fields on the inside that repel them from the character's skin. They could also stand to make custom characters stand out a little less from their canon counterparts; sometimes when fighting a non-custom character I feel like a mannequin with human features hastily drawn on.
