Actually now that i think about it... they eye-color in manga thing makes more sense... I don't really see what difference it would make in the actual GAME...

Soo, I'm on a light road? Sweet. That is a wonderful observation, and I agree with whoever said the Organization's eye colors have to do with what road they were on when they were whole.

The significance of eye color isn't soley found in the world of Manga, it's a symbolic trait which you sometimes find in (mostly old) Western literature. It could have a role in Kingdom Hearts, seeing as how Wabba's point seemed pretty spot-on.

However the only eye color symbolism I currently know for a fact is this: "green usually means evil" while "blue usually means good". The hero/the good person is normally blue eyed, while the antagonist/bad guy is normally green eyed.

Though it's likely that Nomura created his own eye color symbolism scheme for the game.

Yes, in many oriental cultures, green is actually a color for evil, but was not used in KH the same way. Instead, the yellowish orangish eyes seemed to tie people with Darkness more. I found that to be interesting as many anime have used characters with green eyes to define evil. The good guys have tended to have blue eyes which in this isn't really so much a big deal either though many characters had them.

Purple is the National Color of Gay.

    8D

    Actually, Terra's eyes were blue. All of the Knights' eyes were blue. >>;;

This is a good observation. I'm sure that Nomura had some reason to make their eyes the colors they are. If it isn't for symbolism, then it's probably just because it goes with their face. xD

    Blue - Pure/Light
    Green - Twilight
    Yellow/Orange - Darkness
    Other - Dawn

It does go with it, actually. Roxas, though he was a Nobody, had blue eyes, like Sora. He chose to go against the Organization, instead of joining it. That's a pure act. 8D

Axel, who has green eyes, stays in the Organization, yet disposes of those who go against it. It's both a sin and a good deed, yet as Twilight leads to Darkness, Axel is more on the Dark side of the MOOOOON...~

Ansem-HeartlessFace, who was a pain in the butt, was a Heartless. His eyes were yellow. Case Closed.

As for Riku, his eyes are Aqua-Marine. NOT Blue-Green. NOT Green. AQUA-MARINE. Get it right. >.> Anyway, he chose the side of the Darkness. He, however, fought it, and later used it to waken his best friend. It's more good than evil. Dawn leads to the Day. He's on the ROAD TO DAWN*. (lolz, no pun intended)

This amused me as I had brought up the same deal in another thread. His eyes are aquamarine and look nearly exactly the color of the gemstone.

You guys could be onto something with the eye color scheme. I don't know for sure really but there are a lot of good guys in FF games too that always seem to have blue eyes as a running theme (though usually quite a few of the heroes also have had blonde hair too). Also, brown eyes tend to be neutral in a way. Green eyes has always been a markedly 'evil' color in oriental cultures but not so really in KH and that is kind of refreshing. I do have to agree though that those who do have green eyes were mostly doing both good and bad deeds or just chaotic and not really standing for much else. Amber and orangish eyes seem to be the more distinctive eye color leading people down paths that aren't favorable to those who want to live. Riku's eye color to me was the interesting eye color since it was so unique.

I like your view though and perhaps it does hold some validity. Some day someone will get to ask Nomura that.

Rather interesting theories you have about eye-color, but in my opinion its a combination of aethetics and Normura's slight inconsitancy with coloring.

    Examples:
Larxene's eye color changes from blue (concept) to green (3D in-game).
Sora's hair color from brown to dirty blond. (And it's not like he has been swimming a lot or been out in the sun for the 6-month period >_>)

As for blue being the "good" color, yes it is fairly popular in protagonists design, however consider AESTHETICS as well -when not applied to a blonde haired character-. Yellow is also for some reason a popular antagonist color, yes even before the Heartless were involved.

But as for blue being a popular color, it has the most popular appeal and "goes" with almost every haircolor, natural or unnatural. Also consider that more vibrant colors of eyes seem to allow for more "noticable expression" because it is easier to be seen.

As for the "blue equals good", disprover to that equation.

MARLUXIA and ZEXION. Both were never "good" but it you try to sub in any other eye color, it creates a bizarre color combination. The exception being a grey for Zexion...a majority of other color subs for Marluxia seem out of place given his already bizarre haircolor.

    Hopefully that will make sense.

It looks to me that a lot of people in Kingdom Hearts have blue eyes. I didn't pay attention until someone mentioned it. But a lot of the main characters have blue eyes. And of course the heartless have yellow eyes. I have no idea how any of these things could be significant though.:)
