from the footage shown it looks like a simple "O MY GOD HERE COMES AN EXTREMELY POWERFUL AND ULTRA RARE POKEMON!!! WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO???" "O MY GOD HERE COMES ANOTHER EXTREMELY POWERFUL AND ULTRA RARE POKEMON THAT WE'VE SEEN BEFORE!!!! IS IT GOING TO HELP US? IT IS!!" it just looks very cookie-cutter and basic from what you can see. obviously it could turn out to be better, but based on what is shown that's what it seems like. and yeah my opinion is valid. Why do you think trailers are put out? To show what your movie looks like so people will hopefully form a good opinion for what they can expect from your movie, be it good or bad. an opinion doesn't have to be good for it to be valid. I could just as easily say that your opinion that it looks good is invalid because not enough is shown to really make an informed opinion on anything, we can only go by what we see.
Its the animation I enjoy for one. The Pokemon movies have been getting much better over the years. Genesect has more story related towards it then some of the past movies. Mewtwo has nostalgia to those who had watched the first movie back those 13 years ago. He is one of those characters that you just want more of because of his character in general. Your opinion was invalid because it gave no argument. You just said plain out that it was "meh" looking. That gives me no reason to take your statement and take it to thought. Admittedly I did the same thing, but it wasn't a negative. You could at least say something positive about it. Now lets have a talk about Sylveon. Why do you believe it looks dumb? Most everyone - if not everyone - I know see it as one of the most adorable or as one of the most unique eeveelutions. Why do you think differently. Did someone have a bad experience with his eevee getting mad at him because he didn't evolve it the way the Eevee itself wished to be evolved?
Just saw this and I'm going to actually watch this because Mewtwo. Just Mewtwo. I haven't been watching the new Pokemon series (more like, not for several years), but hey, if it comes out on DVD or something here Stateside, then I'll get it. As for the mini-movie, eh. But interesting to see the many Eevee's. Maybe then I'll catch up on my Pokemon naming. >.>
I have no interest in this movie (but I am super excited for Pokemon X/Y). But like you said, Mewtwo would be the ONLY reason for me to watch this.
To be honest I lost interest in the pokémon anime a few years ago, and this movie probably isn't going to change my opinion. I think that the fire burning in the background looks really fake, the giant egg sac in the middle of the arena-thing just looks weird, I don't like Genesect's design, and the only reason they added in Mewtwo was to boost the viewing of older fans, they really just need to add in something else to the anime, because it hasn't changed in all the time it has been airing, and the company has plenty of money to go experimenting, maybe I am saying this because I have grown out of the anime, and I can't look past the faults, but the anime needs to change, and fast.
I wouldn't mind seeing this, since I keep up with most of the pokemon movies, if not just to be obligated to keep up with one of the shows from my childhood. But I actually am interested to find out why mewtwo is there. I'm thinking it might be because both pokemon are formed from science (it's SCIENCE!!) and maybe there's some kind of rivalry going on? On the other hand, not too much for the eevee stuff. I mean, it was cool when we got glaceon and leafeon, but this new pokemon just looks kinda strange
I don't need to have an argument to have an opinion or preference? Get off your critical high-horse and accept that not everyone has to go crazy whenever something new for Pokemon is released.
You are entitled to your opinion, but no one is their critical high-horse. However, you didn't get to be blunt about your opinion on the trailer. As for the new Eevelution, I think it is rather very unique, in fact, it was the only one I liked as I had lost interest in Pokemon awhile ago.
Am I the only one that agrees with below61 here? :/ The trailer itself does leave quite a bit to be desired, though I'm assuming it's only the debut trailer. Hopefully, they'll release one with more information, but I got the same "oh no, new Pokemon destroying everything, old Pokemon to save the day? nostaligiaaaa" feeling from it. Also, did it look like Ash shrunk to anyone else? lol I know he hasn't changed much, but this video made him seem shorter than usual. As for the new Eeveelution, it's...trying too hard. The bows and ribbons are just...unnecessary. I don't like how it's that much bigger than the other Eeveelutions. It's not at all how I wanted a flying Eeveelution to look.
While I agree there's a bit too much on the Eeveelution, I do find it adorable. it resembles the last Flying-Type gym leader as well. However, while the trailer leaves a lot to be desired, I have a good feeling on the plot. Team Plasma recently debuted in the Japanese Pokemon Anime (Yes, two seperate animes imo because Ash ages in Japan). So I feel like Rockets vs Plasma is coming.
This is really dumb, sorry if that's not enough for an argument and/or too blunt for you next time, if you read a response like below's and dislike it, try waiting it out and ignoring it. ~ I don't really know what eevolution really is, so if anyone can explain I'd appreciate it!
Dang, lotsa kids in here not understanding how civil discussion works. Yeah, you're entitled to an opinion, but if you're terse and don't put any thought into it, don't act surprised when you get backlash. I haven't watched a Pokemon movie since the Entei one, and there's probably a reason for that. But I have to say. The animation's pretty sw33t.
Oh well i could say i'm too old but i've watched all of the Pokemon movies, well almost, i have yet to watch Mewto returns, too hard to find it in Japanese. Anyway, i am quite interested in this one since Mewto is making an appearance and to be hones it can't be any worse than movies 5, 6 and 9. Those were just..., well they could as well have been just episode arcs. And to all those who say the anime hasn't changed, well maybe, the basic formula but since i have watched twelve complete seasons and the first part of the thirteenth i can surely say there are a lot of surprises and stuff that normally would not be seen in there. The writers are changing stuff/taking risks, well to some extent but they do. A lot of changes happened since Diamond/Pearl there. Actually, no, since Battle Frontier, that was the first time i thought the anime wasn't quite the same. Anyway, no big deal, another Pokemon movie, i will surely watch and as far as i have heard it is tied with the Best Wishes season in some sort (Mewto appears in the opening of the new "Da!" season.)
