To be fair, Quick Man would probably the second most optimal because you already gotta buster him anyway. It'd just be the worst first level EVER.

 

I only read them sporadically so I don't have every arc but are you current or

the latest arc is crazy

 

I'm mostly up to date, though I haven't gotten to the lastest arc yet APPARENTLY AS GOOGLE JUST TOLD ME. THANKS I GOT SOME MORE READING TO DO.

ohh okay well
The latest arc (midway so last two issues) is based on Super Adventure Rockman which is generally considered the darkest Mega Man game, to the point that Inafune thought it went too far and dislikes it. Soo it makes for some prettttty interesting adaptation material.

BUT THAT'LL BE AWESOME! I didn't play/watch that because the patch wasn't... cooperating. This'll be like brand new material to me!

...I feel part of this was directed to me but um... I'm neither Ars nor Nove.... Are Nova and I the same person? Is this symbolic for how Mega Man kills Protoman and ends up replacing him as the hero who gave up on man?!?!

 

There are some storytelling logic issues that made me not a huge fan of the game to be honest (it sounds weird to say that about a Mega Man Classic game but they were really obvious & it's almost entirely cutscene based so) but it's pretty entertaining imo haha. If you want to watch it this Let's Play is pretty good. The comic's been doing a good job of fixing some of Capcom's less... thoughtful writing decisions, as well, which is nice.

Well it was mostly little stuff that was like... Wait a second that didn't make sense

Just as an early example off the top of my head,

All of the technology in the world is hit by an EMP wave and starts to go offline, starting with... Roll, because she's a girl. That's literally the only reason why it affects her earlier than other robots. "Because she's a girl robot."
Doctor Light then coats Mega Man in some special EMP-Wave proofing stuff and sends him off in a ship to the source. The ship promptly crashes. BECAUSE OF THE EMP WAVE. Would he not think to, I don't know, protect the ship too? They're little things but it's kind of comical, lol.

 

OH MY GOSH THIS SOUNDS HILARIOUSLY FANTASTIC! So what, Dr. Light gave Roll a XX chromo.... uh... metal cog? PFFFFFF!

I'm so glad this exists to watch, and soon to read. My only question is now, how's it dark?

Yeah it's kind of an interesting game to watch, apparently not so much to play I've heard though, lol.

As for it being dark, to sum it up... There are real stakes in it, whereas usually Mega Man Classic games are pretty lighthearted (arguably barring MM7). There are actually some deaths and if you mess up it nets you some surprisingly dark bad endings. The Let's Player was kind enough to show what the game overs are like, so you'll see those if you watch c': .
