I'm surprised there wasn't a thread about this already, but Double Fine has had a really exciting time the last couple of days.

First of all, the company started a donation where the donation goes directly into making a new point and click adventure game. If you donate fifteen bucks, then you get the game, through a steam code. It's pretty intersting, but the coolest part about this is how they reached their goal... within eight hours, and they have already tripled the amount they wanted even though it's only been a day and a half.

Here's the donation: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/66710809/double-fine-adventure?ref=live One can only wonder how big the budget will be when the donation is finally done, over ten million dollars?

The second dealio came a couple of days ago. There has always been high demand for a sequel to Double Fine's biggest cult hit, Psychonauts, but due to the bomb the game did comercially, no publishers have really wanted to support them. However- Well, I guess I'll just post the link here and let you guys look for yourself:

So guys, any thoughts? I, personally, am pretty darn happy about Tim Schafer possibly getting the kinds of budgets he deserve.

Bumping because I am incredibly excited. The funding ended a couple days ago at a pretty impressive $3.4 million.

I love the classic adventure games that these guys worked together on in the past and while I didn't get a chance to donate I'm probably going to end up buying the finished product as soon as it comes out. I am expecting great things 8'D. The other titles they worked on were so hilarious and creative; it's such a shame people don't make many adventure games anymore.

Anyway, here is Double Fine's post about the money raised. The Pyschonauts sequel also sounds like it would be all sorts of awesome but I'm kind of afraid to get my hopes up in case it goes nowhere >: .
