@Toshi: This is the second part of a re-make of the series. It's been pretty good thus far, but I have to see the second one.

To be honest, I never really liked the first one.
It was kind of the same as the one is the series, so yeah.
But seeing another story for this movie makes me want to watch it.

 

Don't know. I just checked,there doesn't seem to be, but it might come soon. I hope it does, I wanna see the new pilot. I like how the remake doesn't cut things and explains them later. The battles look much more smoother and the Eva too.

 

I didn't watch the sub, I watched the whole movie raw. I'd atleast understand most of it if it was subbed. D:

I haven't seen them personally, but I know that the first one followed the anime to a tee until Kaworu appeared, and it started getting weird.

Pretty much Eva is going for as many different endings as possible. We've got the original mind-screw episodes, the EoE movie, the manga (whenever it gets finished), these things and IIRC there's also a highschool AU.

 

I seriously can't understand why they keep milking Eva like that, it's kind of getting obnoxious. I went to an anime convention recently and they were selling miniature entry plugs for $120 a pop. Whatever makes money, I guess.

I haven't seen the first film yet, but I have heard Utada's theme for it which got me kind of excited for the release... For a little bit. Then it died. So I still haven't watched it.
I'll get to it eventually, and then this one is sure to follow.
I've come to terms with the fact that I can't be picky with anime series-based films because they just about never come out as good as I hope, so I'm just going to go ahead and assume that it's nothing too interesting at this point.

 

It basically retells the story and gradually parts off from its original path to the whole EoE movie, giving it a different ending, new Eva. pilots, etc.

I kinda liked the first movie of the whole redo thing... though yeah, Evangelion's been milked from hell and back. Still, I'd say it's something good for those few fans who didn't like the original endings. =X

 

Wow. I just watched You Are (Not) Alone. Effectively the first few eps of the original series compacted.

2.0 looks interesting. Kaworu has come into the picture already.

Also, we get so many Eva things because people buy it. People still drink the milk from the cow, so of course it will still be milked. So provided the quality of milk doesn't drop (and so far Rebuild looks to be okay) I'm happy. Admittedly I'm torrenting them...
