No recent threads have been made on this band, I was actually kinda surprised. Evanescence is an awesome band, though I love their first album far more than the others, thoughts?
Evanescence is more or less a pop version of bands like Epica, Nightwish and Within Temptation. They do nothing new, nor do they do anything that isn't new very well.
evanscene is my faverite band. i got inspired by their song "Bring me to life" If any band is worth making a tribute it's evanscene (sorry for misspells)
I go through phases of them. I used to be a massive fan of them; I thought their music was rather beautiful. Probably helped by the fact Amy Lee is one of the few females I would go gay for ¬¬ I have grown out of them somewhat though now, I still listen to them from time to time, I came across a rather lovely acoustic of Lithium the other day and it re-kicked my interest in them. I wouldn't class them amongst my favourites, but I wouldn't put them on my dislike list either, not by a long shot.
Definitely on my favorites list. but like cloud3514 said, they do somewhat copy their style of music to bands like Within Temptation. But all and all, Amy Lee has a awesome voice and is hot! X3
I was not instantly hocked on them as I have been with other bands, but I only recently discovered bring me to life and it was pretty good. I'll listen to them more in the future.
I like them but unfortunately, my favourite song by them is "Anywhere" and it's only on the Origin EP because Amy Lee doesn't like it!
I remember when I did like them, Before it was cool liking them. I only like a few of their songs, Bring me to Life, Haunted and My Immortal.
I was never a HUGE fan of them, but Bring Me to Life was one of the few songs that got me interested in not just music, but also AMVs back in Jr. High. I haven't listened to them lately, they're not really my style, but yeah, they are pretty damn niice.
^Thisthisthisthis I don't listen to them that much anymore because it's been a while since they came out with anything new. But apparently a new album is coming out this year, I might start listening to them again.
And and plus also-I think most people are steering away from Evanesence...sadly. Last year it was all I could listen to but now I lesten to stuff like Bring me the Horizon and Suicide Silence. And BTH the only reason she is making a new album is so that she could race a band to se who makes the album first-The bands name is We Are The Fallen (With Ben Moody,Former Evansence member)
Evanescence is somewhat like within temptation, yet Amy lee's voice isn't so...I don't know, I like Amy Lee's voice better. It has more flair, and power. The only problem with Evanescence right now, is the whole Fandom beginning to split and wage war in the whole band war thing against Ben Moody. I personally think that this new lead singer isn't... her voice and ring are merely an Amy Lee impersonation right now. While it is true that the band actually is reminiscent of what it was with the album "Fallen" , the lead singer doesn't have a unique quality. Amy's voice is far superior and melodiously haunting, it could send chills down your spine, and make the dark songs created by the former band far stronger, and certainly enjoyable. This new singer is just...not Amy Lee, and this isn't her forte. I certainly do like the "Open Door" Album, it shows more skill in her vocals, even though it is a bit different. I hope she does great in the future.
I used to be a HUGE fan of Evanescence, I listened to them ALL the time, but that was back then, now, I'm still a fan, but not as big of a fan as I was years ago. I'm more into japanese music now. I still think they're awesome though, and I'm glad they're making a new album. I can't get enough of "Lithium" the song that brought me back to them.
