I placed a bet on Germany winning (no cash was involved). I wasn't able to watch it, so i can't comment on the acts, but i heard the UK just sucked.
I honestly thought Belgium should have won it, the singer was really quite talented and it was a change from the typical awfully cheesy pop singers. Germany's song won because it was already a sucessful chart hit, no?

Germany had a good song. Nothing special but it is understandable why that girl won. It has a catchy tune you have to admit that.
Yeah, no. You want to know the real reason behind the scenes why Germany won? Because Germany has the money. Everyone saw Germany has the money to host the next contest so they started the suck up. Believe it or not, that's how it is.
Lena won because she was good and likeable, not some overblown prostitute of an act. Oh, and Germany would have had enough cash for ages, and they last won twenty years ago.
Actually, you guys should be shocked Germany won. For ages it's just been Eastern Europe voting for each other. It's all political; and it's been that way for so long that, well, goddamnit, the only reason anybody in the UK watches anymore is for the commentary.
Everyone was good and likeable. More than her. Do you even know how much of a snob she was before the contest? That's not likeable, and not accepted in a European celebration. It's not that Germany has the cash; It's because the rest of the countries don't. Something that wasn't happening till recently.
Exactly, it is all political. No one ever wins the Eurovision song contest because of talent. Besides, Germany's act was not good; she did not have much talent for singing, she looked rather slutty and the song was not very good at all. C'mon just listen to the lyrics "I even painted my toenails for you" omg.. In addition, the commentator said that she earlier during the press conference stated that she "did not mind bribing the press, under the table" in a sexual context, if you know what I mean.
