Already made a thread about this band long ago, however, its been closed, and lots of changes have been made. Ronnie, the lead singer, is gone. He's had way too many run-ins with the law, and is now currently serving four years in prison. Omar also left, unable to deal with all of the stuff going on, but he's still on good terms with the band. Craig Mabbit, who you might remember from Bless The Fall, has replaced Ronnie for their new CD set to come out on October 21st, titled "This War Is Ours". ETF has released three music videos total, including their newest one for a song from their new album. The music videos are from newest to oldest. The last two both have Ronnie and Omar still dere. A huge shame Omar decided to leave. Replies are usually swift, and satisfying :] What'cha think about the new sound (those who've listened to ETF before)? When they lost Ronnie, they definitely lost some of their manic energy that I enjoyed so much, but I do think the changes are for the best. Oh yeah, they are going on tour with Chiodos, and someone else... can't remember. I might actually drive the three hours to Orlando. Oh wait, no license *kills self*
All I can say, is that the new changes, are disgusting. Blessthefall was a great band, and so was Escape The Fate. Now, we get one. Really. Shitty. Band. Escape The Fall? Doesn't sound great. Sounds just really ******ed. Official Ronnie friend and fan. He may have been a druggie and may have always been drunk, but he was a doll. RIP ETF.
I dislike how they sound now. Craig was epic in Blessthefall, which i love, but he CANNOT front ETF. He might do ok, but Ronnie was it's face. lets hope that blessthefall can replace someone as epic as Craig. It was you who made the thread ages ago? If so... You have completed my life. and I thank you.
As for the song, it's good, gbut it doesn't bring the explosiveness that commes with all their other songs. It sounds... empty. I'm still a fan though, and hope they continue to do well.
Ronnie's voice made my life. Not to say the new CD will suck (I know it wont, the songs released so far are bangin'), but without that unique emotion behind Ronnie's vocals, it's just odd to think of. But anywho, Four days.
I've already got the full CD. Seems to me that Craig was doing a lot of... experimentation? with his voice, trying to find out what his range was. There's liek, no screaming. D: When you start listening to most of the songs you're like "OMG, skip skip skip!!!" But, they definitely grow on you. You Are So Beautiful, Something, Let It Go, and 10 Miles Wide (strangely enough) are the ones I've been listening to the most lately. I guess its worth buying. I know I'm gonna buy it when its actually out. EDIT TIEM: D: I just realized I didn't repost their older music videos and their myspace like I had planned. Checky the first post in a minute.
God.. You know how I said I disliked them since Craig joined? Since this thread, I've been listening to them more. And DAMN they grow on you...
*blessthefall* sorry, had to do it. Now on to my post, I thought that they would do better with Criag...I was wrong. Craig can sing better than Ronnie in every way (no offense Ronnie lovers), he has a wide screaming range, and it's obvious he can sing in WAY differant regular voices (when they don't scream lol), and Craig is AMAZING live. Ronnie held Escape the Fate from going on tons of tours, while Craig would still do a show with his foot broken...dude, if that's not commentment, I don't know what is. I am totally disapointed in Escape the Fate's new album though, I mean really, they made Craig sound like a total differant guy in their band, and I'm not trying to sound gay, but Craig even looked better in blessthefall (lol, had to say it).
Craig doesnt sound the same as in blessthefall. In a way, this new voice suits ETF better than the one he had in BTF, but yes, I see what you mean. As for the looks, I pesonally think he looks a lot better. In BTF, he was into tight turtlenecks and that long strand of hair across his faCE. I began to compare the closeness in appearance of genders Marylin Manson came into my head. XDDDDD
Yeah, but those pictures were just for the photo-shoots, I mean in preformances (Craig wore some kick ass clothes live). Craig's "newer" voice suits Escape the Fate better, because his voice is more "normal", like Ronnie's. His older voice in blessthefall sounded better to me because it was differant, more refreshing than the voice he uses in Escape the Fate. Craig isn't that good when it comes to choosing certain clothes for pictures...I personally think that Jared Warth (bass player/screams) has the best taste in style, he has the coolest hair, coolest clothes, and has a cool peircing, he's in blessthefall though, unlike Escape the Fate's bass player...who wears make-up.
I almost feel bad... O Shi- I get re-addicted to Yellowcard (and now Ryan's new project Big If), and actually stop listening to Escape the Fate for a few months, and a new music video pops up on YouTube! Its been out for an entire damn month! Here it is, 10 Miles Wide, with the lead singer from Buckcherry in it (I always wondered who the other singer was while listening to the CD, and when I saw the video I face-palmed. How the hell did I not realize it was Joshua Todd?). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02Me9nPk5ro Opinions? Sound, video quality, and the new looks? EDIT: Lol, in More From EpitaphRecords, click ETF Show when your done. Craig couldn't even finish singing the song. . . Stupid bouncers too.
Wow, huge bump. Well, I'm a huge fan of ETF, whether it is old or new. I have a buncha their songs on my iPod, Smooth, You Are So Beautiful, Ashley (I really don't know why) Something, and Reverse This Curse, my personal fav. I'll have to check out 10 Miles Wide. I think it should be good.
