The movie IS good. It's worth seeing a second time. Call my insane, but it's true. A few changes in a movie won't kill anyone.

    Edit:
:( If you look really closely, he does get slashed, unfortunately. It's kinda quick, but it's when he flew at Durza and Durza flipped Eragon over and cut his back. Then, when Saphira crashed, you could see Eragon was holding his side. I'd say he got it, but it's just not affecting him yet.

Heeey, don't bash her just because she likes something that you don't. >.>

And I haven't seen Eragon. Nor do I plan to. Due to the crappy reviews. xD

Dun listen to the reviews!!! THEY LIE!!! If you haven't read the book yet, I suggest you see it, then read the book. I don't really care if it was totally different from the book or not.

i saw it today. i had a good time. it was a nice film. i don't think it was a waste of money at all because it's one of those kind of films which are worth seeing in the big screen.

but like i won't probably see it again... i MAY read the book... when i finish this creepy "Diablo: Legacy of Blood" thingy i found >.> ok off topic @.@

back to eragon... the film was nice... but kinda predictable... and eragon himself bugged me A LOT.

brom and saphira PWN big time, the best things in the film... oh, and murtagh <3 *drools* also durza's hair lol xD

but it's like "lord of the rings" meets "chronicles of narnia" meets "dragonheart" meets "dungeons and dragons"... :p

again, for me it's neither a bad film nor a good one, it's just an entertainment.

I hear a lot of people complain about Ed's acting. What's his problem...other than it's his first movie? >.<

Personally, I thought the movie was decent. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either.

Quite alot of errors I noticed when I watched it and starting to doubt if they'll make Eldest.

I know...but it was good when you didn't care about the mess-ups, right? ^_^

Personally, I want to see Eldest really really bad. Except for the scar issues Eragon has. Vanir sounds like a royal jerk.

    Eragon's hotter than Murtagh. :3:p

I think Eldest will be way better, if they make one.

    So not true...

This was the worst movie that i have ever seen. almost NOTHING had to do with the book. Urgals are supposed to have horns, those Urgals were just humans with dots on they're heads. Arya was supposed to have raven black hair, they gave her blonde, she was supposed to have long ears because she was an elf, but in the movie, they didn't even say she were an elf. When he met Murtagh it was like "Hello, I am Murtagh, son of Morzan. If you wish to go to the Varden, follow me," and he was off. Not once in Eragon OR Eldest did they ever show an actual conversation with the king, nor did they even show him, but in the movie they had atleast 4 scenes with him. The dwarves didn't even look like dwarves (some were taller than Eragon) and they never even explain that they were dwarves. The dwarven city, didn't look great, even the 1 angle that they even actually showed it. There is ABSOLUTELY NO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, at all. In the book, they never had Brom die, flying ontop Saphira. In the beginning of the movie, they began with the easy way out, by narration, and then after 2 mins of that they gave that up as well. The Ra'zak were nothing like that in the book... im not EVEN gonna get into them, lol. They added MANY and POINTLESS things to the movie. At the end of the movie, every1 in the ENTIRE theater began Boo-ing. The movie rushes from scene to scene, as if they had a week to film (literally, im not making this up as I go along). Saphira's vision is supposed to be a very Blue-ish tone, but they decided to make it yellow. If you've read the book, you'll know how bad of a movie it was. If you haven't read the books, you will not understand ANYTHING, seeing as how fast the scenes go by, and how bad the character development.

I spent many days after seeing this movie, (almost ripping out my hair) at how bad it was. I doubt the director hasn't even read the book, and is now reading it, and saying to himself "I've made a huge mistake..."

Now, as far as an Eldest movie goes... They terribly messed up with Eragon's brother who plays a HUGE part in the second book. With that one messup, they ruined the chance of EVER creating an eldest movie. I feel so terrible... im gonna go play The Burning Crusade now...

    I know!

When I watched it, my family was the only one actually in the cinema watching it. I actually didn't really want to watch it since I heard it did so bad but my sis is crazy about it and managed to drag us to watch it.

If they do Eldest, it better have a bloody good script.

UGH. Why don't people see this?! I've been trying to hold this in on account of I might get banned, but fine. ERAGON, STAR WARS, DRAGONRIDERS OF PERN, AND LORD OF THE RINGS WERE TOO MUCH ALIKE! If you can't see that, GET SOME EYES. Eragon had a Star Wars plot, with characters baised off of Lord of the Rings and DragonRiders of Pern. If they DID make it a lot like the book, people would start complaining about how much it was like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, and they needed to be a little bit more CREATIVE. Anyway, if they book was followed a complete 100%, people would think it's boring, since they can anticipate every movie the character makes. Yeah, they probably took a little too much out of the movie, and it could have been longer, but you can't really expect Fox to fit a 600 or so paged book in two short hours, now can you?

    I didn't think so.

When you stop complaining about how much it "sucked", it was a good movie, despite the changes. If I could, I would go down every weekend to see it. Call me insane if you wish, I just might be so. By every review of which I've read, everyone who loves Eragon is automatically "insane" Oh pardon me. Not only that, but people seem to be judging Eragon by the trailers. You can't say, 'oh my god it's a piece of s*it' just by watching a one minute trailer!! I heard some critic's spoiled child cried just because the trailer showed the movie sucked. Oh come on!!!

Plus, everyone is over reacting over the most pointless things. Oh my god, Arya's hair isn't black! Oh my god, Eragon's a blonde! Oh my god, Saphira has bird feathers! Oh my god, Eragon's eyes are blue! Oh my god, oh my god! And of course, it has cheesy lines and the actors could use some work. Take Ed Speleers for example. "Ed is the worst actor ever, he's ugly, he sucks as an actor, blah blah blah." First of all, he was a great actor, admit it. It's his first movie, so you have to cut him some slack. No actor can act like a god in their fist movie, now can they? And don't tell me they can. And the lines? Every movie has it. No movie has godly lines, now do they?

It's a wonderful movie, turned down by over reacting "fans".

Honestly, I think those people who were booing in the theater need to get a life. Narnia and Harry Potter fans adore this movie, as do I. Narnia better watch out, Harry Potter better watch his back.

    ...*claps*

Well said, Roxas is Hot. Well said.

I know it is difficult to fit 600 or so paged book in 2 hours but it is natural for people to judge and make comments.

Yes, there are many pointless comments, with the loop term of 'omg' and the occasional harsh term that the actor of Eragon did an terrible job (I find he did rather well) and it has cheesy lines. But those who hate cheesy lines in a movie, please kindly tell me a movie that just happens to NOT have cheesy lines and is a blockbuster hit.

Thanks....I just kinda lost it. XD

The little 'omg' thingers were just other comments on what I saw on other Eragon forums. Lol?

This, I have to say is a very dumb statement, seeing as that the whole movie sucked. I feel real bad for Paolini. This shows he is very immature for signing over his rights to the stories.

If you've ever gone to film school, been on a movie lot, been behind the scenes with the actors and actresses, and then seen the movie... you can tell how good the movie is.

I work on the Sony lot, where they filmed some of the scenes. The director was an absolute idiot. The cast were much brighter than he was, but he totally ruined the movie. He broke the first set for the scene. Then he got mud all over the second set. Friggin' guy made us make it a third time. Apparently it was his first directed film, but he produced others. The sets were bad budgeted, compared to other sets Ive worked on, and looked crappy.

No, it wasn't a dumb statement, it was true. CP did a good job for signing over the rights. He's far FAR beyond immature. The only immature ones is those who keep complaining about the movie. If you haven't noticed, ERAGON WAS BASED OFF OF THE BOOK. Meaning, it wasn't going to be followed by the damn thing 100%.

Name at least 20 things that were wrong in the movie. No crap like, 'Eragon's hair was supposed to be brown.' or anything like that.

I agree with Roxas again. It wasn't a dumb statement. A dumb statement would be that Eragon pwns every single movie in the world even the Lord of the Rings, which it dosent by the way.

CP did a good job for signing over the rights, and you're talking about an author who's work is very successful in the literature world (not as successful as Tolkien, C.S Lewis, J.K Rowling, etc). If he WAS immature, he could easily say state that he is the greatest author of all time and pwns everyone.

While I think the director did a decent job, you must remember that the people who film, act and direct in movies, ARE HUMAN! They're not servants that they will do everything as the fans request or ask. It's not easy to make a movie out of book, you know.

Please tell us one movie that was based off a book and is one hundred percent accurate, and I doubt you'll even find one.
