Since I have been here and read posts in this section I see alot of people saying that Humans are so much better than animals, but I don't believe this, humans are animals, the only reason humans are different to common animals is that they have over-developed brains and use their minds instead of strength. But if we were put in contests with animals, we would do better in some than others, same goes for other animlas, its just what different situation they were created from.

    So whats your opinion?

Hey, we "rule" this planet, cuz we can do much better, at almost every task there is, then any other animal... If that wasn't the case, this planet would be ruled by insects, fish, or other mammal..
    For example:
In 10 contests, we would probably lose one or two, nothing more than that..

Every being is balanced.Humans are smarter than animals, but animals have more physical capabilities. So,in reality, neither of us is better. Both sides are equal in that way.The only way a human can kill an animal is with a weapon, while animals can easily kill an unarmed human.

Pretty much what this guy said. Because we come before animales otherwise humans might die which would make the planet die. Making ALL animales die.

And yet, strangely enough, we're also the ones destroying it. Imagine that! :\

We kill animals not save them! We kill the planet with our own unwanted items! All the 'great civillisation have in someway destroyed the world! We have made many species exsinct! Do you look at the news?

As I said : we can do much better. Building or destroying, were the best there is..
Although I wish we weren't the best destroying stuff..

    Lulz just noticed this statement:
Animals have been around LONG before people...and, if people weren't around animals would be just fine.

My bad, misinterpretation on my part D:
Youre right...its only because of our intelligence. Thats what helps us build/destroy/make choices. Like you said, I wish people would think about the future of the world a bit more...

Like that is a problem, but I mean make room for humans, thats okay. And having chicken, thats okay too.
Well we came to this earth so they just hafta deal with it. And they would die so fast on there own.

Its not that we are better than animals considering that we are animals, but its that due to evolution (I am not getting into a creationvsevolution battle here) we have developed a higher frame of thinking, well I guess I can't really say that. We....have among ourselves become more educated about what is around us, though we can't quite say that animals have not as well. Our ablity to create and manipulate the planet and the fact that we have created a life to be easier for everyone else, this sets us apart from animals.

We "rule" the planet my ***, we separate ourselves from the rest of the planet. What kind of said contests can you beat an animal in. I can guarentee that no one is faster than a cheetah or panther, and that if someone goes hand on hand with a lion, that person is going to die. The reason you feel that we "rule" this planet is that we are secluded from nature.

    THANK YOU ^^

No, that is not how it works. Since they're not as 'evolved' it's up to us to HELP THEM. We can adapt to our surroundings ALOT easier than they can. Evolution happens over the course of centuries for most species so its just impractical to make animals 'deal with it'.

Some speicies would die (only the ones we're working on conserving, but then again we're the reason theyre endangered) but the MAJORITY would be fine, if not better off without us...

Oh okay...I thought you said something else there xD

If the human race were to go extinct tomorrow the planet, and the rest of the animals on it would be just fine. Some species would be better off with out us.
People can think as highly of them selves as they want. In the long run we don't really matter, we're just a speck of dust on the time scale.

Hey, this has happened with dinosaurs too. They ruled the planet, like no species(until the humans that is) did. One day their gone forever. This will eventually happen with all the living species in this planet. Someday the Humans will disappear too, and there will be nothing no one can do to stop them..
Besides is it a crime to kill an habitat to build a dam, wich will give water and power to the Humans and latter create a new ecosystem?

Again humans are being selfish, they maybe using for power but the power they use is used to power destructive weapons or helps contribute to global warming. Many people know the problems of the world but are too selfish to admit it and humans are supposed to be an evolved race? Could have fooled me.

Humans haven't done enough to keep species alive in the world, and human’s usually are the ones killing them for more selfish reasons such as fashion.

I don't mind if some species die, as that is natural, but I would not like Humans to be the cause of those deaths.

Yes keeping animals in check is natural the way humans do it is monstrous. Humans keep animals in secluded areas such as cows, trouts and chickens but the life they live is horrofic, I was taken on a school trip around a egg factory and the way they use chickens is ghastly. First they put a spray over the eggs to make them noy turn into chicks then they are examined by a room full of people, if the eggs are useable they put them down one tube and if the spray didn't work on all eggs and some chicks are born they put them down another tube to either breed or be killed. That memory wills tay in my head forever and it disgusts me to this day.

First of all, we're not animals, we're in a catagory all our own and second, I say we are better than animals in the sense of intelligence, but then again, when there is a natural desastor, animal's senses tell them to go away while we have no idea what's going on.

We are animals...technically. On the other hand, though, we've evolved past needing good senses and speed. So, I'd say that we're a higher being...obviously...but there are certain things that animals whoop us at.
