http://gameinformer.com/mag/mickey.aspx It's a new game called "Epic Mickey" planned to come out in Fall of 2010. Everything I was thinking about that was wrong with Disney, they seemed to have had the same idea. Apparently Disney also wanted to reinvent Mickey Mouse (since he's just been an icon lately, they haven't been doing anything with him). They're apparently bringing back the Mickey Mouse from the late 1920's-early 1930's who was a mischievous little mouse, not the nice straight guy of the group. Apparently the leader of the project believed that they gave all of the qualities that mickey had to Donald, Goofy, and Pluto (anger, goofiness, loyalty respectively) Here's a summary of the game's plot from Wikipedia: I think it sounds pretty cool. The pictures from the game made it look so avant-garde. When they say Epic they mean it. That one castle on the hill is like a cross between Hollow Bastion and the castle from The Land of Departure. That being said this definitely has nothing to do with Kingdom Hearts, but will be amazing just the same. Reminds me of Jak & Daxter.
I guess this will be one non-KH game that features Mickey that I might be looking forward to. Well can't say that in my final opinion but more screen shots are in demand, I suppose. Thanks for the heads up.
I heard about this a while back (and used all my jokes then) but I do have to say it does sound interesting and from my point of view it's something that I'd definitely try.
This will be a good game for the Wii. As far as hypothetically being a 360/Ps3 game, it wouldn't be all that. I wish I had a Wii so I could play this, but I wont lose sleep over not playing it.
Like seriously, why people keep saying this? Sure Mickey has no screen time but the Disney comics are up and running and Mickey is as popular and full of adventures as he always was. I am really glad that Phantom Blot will have a major role in the game. I still wait for his appearance on Kingdom Hearts since he's a huge villain of Mickey. Info from IGN Epic Mickey
Because Disney admitted to it in Game Informer. They agreed that Mickey's character has been distorted and pushed to the back of people's minds. The reason why Mickey Mouse is so important to the Walt Disney Company is because of Walt Disney himself said. And not everyone gets Disney comics. Most people know about Mickey Mouse from the television screen, not from comics. therefore it's important that he is given appropriate screen time.
Exactly - I for one didn't even know they existed until I read this thread. I am glad to see him make (making) a comeback.
