Implemented Enable Gravatar

If you're one of those that uses the same avatar across every forum you visit, like me when I'm "Amaury," then Gravatar is for you.

Basically, you create an account on Gravatar and upload things you want for avatars. On sites that have Gravatar enabled, if you choose that option, it will get your avatar information from Gravatar, using your e-mail address.

Thoughts?

I find this very useful because I typically like to have the same avatar across all the forums I regularly visit, and using Gravatar, I wouldn't have to go to each forum individually and change my avatar -- Gravatar would make it especially easier on the forums that aren't one of my homepage tabs.

 

I can see why this would be useful if you belong to lots of forums, I am not so wouldn't find it overly useful but what exactly needs to be done- like do we just need to link gravatar up with KHV or what? I am just curious :3

 

It's a simple option in the admin control panel that just needs to be enabled:


Then you just go to https://en.gravatar.com/ and create an account. Once you get all that done, you can upload images and select which one you want to use, like so:


Then just go to avatar editor on whatever forum you're on as you would normally, and because Gravatar has been enabled, a new slot for it will display, like so:


You just put in your e-mail in that input field under Use Gravatar, and you're set!

 

Well I'm not opposed to this idea if it's just a simple tick box : )

 

I doubt it would create anymore queries on the site than it would uploading. I don't use Gravatar because I like to change my avatars so much. I see no problem in at least having the option available. I vote yes.

KHV's the only forum I use, but back when I would use a lot, I would have loved this.
