Thank you. I mean, good for them all the way, but it all seems very odd. I mean, two years ago, Jodie Foster came out on the freaking Golden Globes.

I'm kind of at that point where I really don't care. It doesn't affect their acting ability in any way. It just becomes another minor piece of trivia.

Coming out isn't about acting. It's about showing that homosexuals are like anyone you know, famous or not, actress or not.
Again, read my previous post. When Kansas is trying to put forward a bill that allows anyone to refuse homosexuals public or private sector services, then everyone needs to wake up.
Because if America can't even unite to promote gay relationships what's the chances of Russia, China or any other nation with millions of homosexuals living there, being allowed to just be themselves without persecution, stereotyping or even the death penalty in some cases?
I didn't care when Ricky Martin, Tom Daley, Ellen Page, any of them came out. But for thousands of others, it could now mean they have the confidence to finally accept who they are instead of feeling like they have to hide. I'm all up for that.

Hmm, I hadn't thought about it like that. You make some very valid points.

Labels are horrible, Amaury. Labels are one of the reasons that make a lot of gay individuals suffer and feel the need to hide. We're all people and I think it's about time we transcend labels and the needlessness behind them. Labels are just another way to help ignorant people harass these individuals. If I ever live to see the day when we see equal rights, equal treatment for everyone then I will have lived a life worth living for.

I thought Ellen Page came out ages ago.. I swear I have known this for ages O.o unless my gaydar was extremely successful this one time xD

Also, if it was Emma Stone then that would be great because A) I love Emma Stone B) her boyfriend Andrew Garfield would be free to be MIIIIIIIIINE!

    Whoa whoa whoa

I get you're passionate about the whole "callin' people things" dealie but Amaury has enough trouble with context as it is

Let's ease him into it, yeah?

Actually I was just giving Amaury hell. I was kind of serious about it though. I don't see the need for labels. If someone decides to say, "Hey, I'm gay" and they accept the label and are proud to bare it then it's fine to address them as such. I'm sure that there are some individuals who prefer to not be labeled though and just be who they are. Amaury already knows how I feel about labels though. Like I said, I just like giving him a little hell sometimes.

So labels are only okay when someone's proud of it?

If they don't mind the label you're giving them then sure, it's okay. I really don't care either way. I try to avoid labels giving labels, myself.
