I am pretty close to astounded here. The paper is a bit messed up but the work itself is pretty near perfectly done. The level of detail is good and the cleanness of the work overall is laudable. I'd only suggest finishing the body on the right and, if it's to your liking, adding a background at this point. It's really not bad at all.
Yeah, the lighting in the room messed up the color of the paper. I don't have a scanner, so yeah. I'm nervous to put a background in because it's just a awesome picture all together. :3
I understand your concerns and I wouldn't actually suggest doing anything that could mess up the picture as a whole. I'm afraid of backgrounds myself, so I'd never force them on anyone else. If you had a scanner or a copier of some sort you could add a background to a copy without worrying about the original and that'd be fine but as things are it's perfectly reasonable to leave it as is.
