Thank you Valve for being smart. I mean seriously, if EA had gotten their hands on Valve, it would have just been killed then and there, nad there would be no more use for it besides EA making another fail attempt at whatever they do

    it would be something like-
EA: "half life 3 multiplayer anyone? or how about a half life mmo!!!! gravity gun only available on dlc!"

Oh thank god this didn't happen, Valve are pretty much one of the only companies I have faith in anymore.

I'm surprised they didn't go through with it, considering how Valve seems to enjoy working with EA, handing them money for physical copies and what not. They're like a match made in heaven, one company scams their customers, puts horrible DRM on their games and the other one loves to churn out games very often and does some shady things to sell more games.

Sounds like someone is getting their opinion off of IGN. The Old Republic was the biggest blunder of last year, Mass Effect 3 was a Gears of War clone and Dragon Age 2 was an awful game with both horrible gameplay and a bad storyline. Bioware is already dead.

Sounds like I play games to enjoy playing games and don't get my enjoyment from b*tching about them on the net.

Mass Effect 3 had this thing called plot and side-quests, unlike Gears of War. Know your games. Old Republic actually tried with story and choices and actually brought them up along the way. The effort was there and should be appreciated, Dragon Age 2 had fun console gameplay and the story was just very isolated in comparison.

BioWare is alive and well and /v/irgins just need to stfu. They were never the glorious grace of RPG gods people thought they were anyway.

I play games to enjoy them too, but that doesn't mean I'm going to throw out every shred of critical thought because of that. If a game is good, then I probably won't talk about it much, because talking about games you enjoy is boring. If I don't enjoy it though, I've got no problems with talking about why they're bad.

The plot of Mass Effect 3 wasn't really that good, due to all the silliness (Kai Leng) and what not. The sidequests had absolutely no purpose in the game, so you can just throw those out the window. Gears of War has a plot as well, and the quality isn't that far off that of Mass Effect 3, really. You are not judged on effort in this industry, you are judged on quality, which TOR had very little off. Didn't help with how much of an ass Bioware were to the people playing the game either. If you're simply arguing that DA2 had fun gameplay, then I guess I can't argue with you. Even games like Never Dead had "fun" console gameplay.

Bioware won't be doing well after the disaster that was TOR, the amount of money they spent on that, which will never be recovered, is just ridiculous. EA will kill them off soon enough, or make them milk Mass Effect and make nothing else. This is also part of the reason why people don't want Valve to be owned by EA. This is what happens with their companies.

    >Games like NeverDead

Now who has the IGN opinion? That game was hilariously bad, just like a grindhouse game should be.

I'm honestly not debating any of your points on the games above, due to the fact everything is opinion based. I don't care to change opinions. I've stated mine, you've stated yours, and neither of us have any want to change that opinion.

The money thing however, I agree with. It's unfortunate because I was one of the few people who enjoyed TOR. But that game lost subscribes quick.

BioWare aside, I still don't want Valve owned by ANYONE. Valve is a very needed drive that forces publishers and the big three to compete. EA tried launching Origin and that basically went silent, and since Steam sales turned into such a big thing, even Sony and Microsoft have been having sales on digital content and actually reducing prices for older content. Valve is perfect right where they are and are very much needed. Now if they could only count to three...
