E3 2008 Discussion

I was hoping for GH4, but aparently that won't happen. But mainly I was hoping for Fable 2 and Force unleashed, and of course KH stuff.

 

I've interested in hearing if the rumors that have become circulating about Duke Nukem are going to be true. That was a classic shooter back in the day. Still is in my opinion.

 

Rumors circulating about it? They aren't rumors, the game is in development, there's already gameplay footage...

Though technically it's been in development for about 10 years

 

I don't really have anything that I'm tracking on E3. I just look pretty casually and find out what's interesting when it shows up on the floor. Star Ocean sounds good though.

Allright everybody. The Microsoft Press Conference is about to begin, i'll try to keep this thread as up to date as i can.

Odd computer trailer of an old school 1950's setting with robots. Claims nuclear devestation, blip about China invading Alaska...reserve spot in Vault, looks like it could be Bioshock....nope. It's a trailer for Fallout 3.
Trailer is going live on XBOX live and online in an hour. They are starting a demo gameplay. able to switch between first and third person walking around post apolacyptic DC. Able to switch from real time, to a targeting system that has an interesting cutscene of blowing a dude up...but there is marching band music going on, odd.
Game play is smooth, extemely visually appealing. comes out this fall. Substancial DLC on ONLY 360 and windows.


Capcom's Jun Takeuchi takes the stage wearing Umbrella shirts. Showing off first gameplay of RE5, and glad to see the first microsoft RE series. Joined BSAA, new organization, is STAR finished? ONLINE COOP MODE announced. Cut scene ooooo chainsaw man and that is it because they are out of time.
RE5 is coming out March 13 USA and Europe, 12 Japan 2009.


"Fable 2 is finished" trailer for Fable 2 is playing, set 500 years after the first Fable for those who need a refresher. Visually right now this looks beautiful in my opinion...and a bird craps on the hero... actually is the opening cutscene
Showing a demo gameplay with you walking through a forest with your dog. COOP ONLINE with a twist, ambiant orbs that are actually everyone that you know that is playing the game in real time, where you can go to any orb, push a button and they join up as your partner and can change out at any time.

Coming out in October of this year.


Trailer plays, Gears of War 2. Clifff Bleszinski takes the stage going to show off a demo of a Locust sinkhole. Fires it up. Never personally played the first one, but this looks aweseome.....AND it reset?! WTF. Looks cool.

Declares 360 will sell more consoles than ps3 this generation....12 million peeps on XBOX LIVE. Since it's launch, consumers have spent 1 billion bucks on LIVE. Announces that NBC and Univeral is joining up with LIVE for all that jazz and are now howing previews of past trailers of stuff that will be available starting TODAY.


John somebody takes the stage, talking about inovation between this generation of consoles, stating more changes will take place in the future online, no doubt through LIVE.

ANNOUNCE: Consumer device will be reinvented today...wow. New XBOX experience THIS FALL new interface and dashboard, looks similar to Vista, claims it will be easier, and looks like. Avatars are created for gamecards, just like Mii's expect not as dorky and a lot more options, constantly updating with trends and everything, not sure if it will be free or not, but still.
LIVE Party...up to 8 friends online together, shows, trade pics, play games.

XBOX LIVE Primetime, is a gameshow where they can be a character in the game and play along with the entire community THIS FALL. 1 vs 100 looks really interesting. Real prizes given away, no word as to what they are.

UNO RUSH announced on the party channel.
LIVE ARCADE announces new version of Geometry Wars for next month. Sequel to GALAGA LEGIONS coming out next month as well.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: camera zooms back, can't see that it is, some flying characters, can't read the words...holy ****...FF13. From what can be seen, it looks magnificent.
360 version comes out in NA and Europe. Makes a jab at PS for adding another previous PS series to the lines of 360.

Im kind of upset about FFXIII not being exclusive anymore. Like Squenix has been saying for the last year that FFXIII was only gona be on the PS3. Now all the sudden they are making it for the 360 as well? What about the crystal tools engine that was supposed to only be able to work ok the PS3? Im glad that now more of a variety of players can now play FFXIII, but at the same time it makes me upset.

What about Versus XIII? Is that gona be on the 360 as well? Maybe we'll here more about it at the Sony Press conference.

 

All i have to say is wasn't MGS4 360 exclusive last E3? Companies make moves to make more money, and i'm exstatic that 13 is coming to the 360. There was no news about Versus, seeing as how 13 announced during the closing remarks. We'll have to see what transpires tomorrow.

Tomorrow Nintendo shall have their go. I'm ready for anything after today. I think. Knowing all of the sales they've been having, I wouldnt be surprised if they announce some new handheld symbiote that fuses with your body. Although it would be cool to walk around all "We are Nintendo!" xD (props to anyone that gets the reference)

Weeeell......Nintendo put me in the mood for a nap. I mean, the new Animal crossing was um....slighty interesting I guess. Not like everyone didnt already know that was coming. The hint at more Mario and Zelda was good. Not so much the mario since it'll be pretty obvious what to expect unless they did something really big with it. I could use a new Zelda for my Wii and DS, so I shall await those. Nintendo must really be doing good to make such blasé announcements~
