DVD drive not reading

    Timeline of events:

    DVD drive reads disks fine.
    Install Skyrim.
    DVD drive stops reading disks at all.

    My drivers are up to date, and all connects are secure, as it still works, and the computer is detecting there IS a DVD drive, so I have no idea what could be wrong with it.

    Does this happen when you put Skyrim in, or is it any disc?

    Any disk at all. I've tried blanks, Sims and Skyrim. Nothing reads.

    Have you tried restarting your computer?
    Try using the drive with another computer/system to confirm whether or not the problem's hardware or software related.
