That stuff sucks in terms of writing, acting, direction, animation, drawing, etc.
It's being the done the way it is now because it's faster and cheaper, not because the original way was outdated.

I find Woody, Popeye, Tom & Jerry, the Messmer Felix's, the Famous cartoons, Tex Avery at MGM, Terrytoons to be entertaining. I don't recall them having Bugs. =P

 

Replace all the characters with inanimate pumpkins.

I personally prefer manga, as it is the original unaltered plot.
