I should at least get the benefit of the doubt being that I posted it without the rule in play. Not really fair to smack a rule down right after someone does so. That could make the person posting the design dislike it all together. The right thing to do would be to post the new rule in the next contest to prevent this from occurring again.
Technically speaking, the competition is judged based on who has designed the best doll. You did not design Samus Aran, therefore the entry wouldn't count. To quote one of the rules that has always been there: Since it's not your creativity being used for your entry, Saxima has all rights to disallow it.
But what you did goes against the spirit of the contest. Rat cited an existing stipulation of the contest in his own post. I feel like it has never explicitly been said before because no one thought there was a need. Copying is not creative, this is a creative contest. I feel like rather than trying to get it legitimized you should probably just take down your current entry. I'm, of course, only speaking for what I would do if put in your position. You've a right to your own thoughts on the matter, obviously.
Whoa, whoa guys. Chill out. It's okay. Myst, you're right, I shouldn't put that rule into activation until the next round of the contest, but I wanted to stick it in there now anyway so that I wouldn't forget. In any case, since it is a new rule, it has no right in this round, but I do have the right to reject your doll because it is not an original design of the doll. My apologies.
