Well, obviously. It wouldnt happen the EXACT way. We'd need to have pierogies... but still. No dream has an EXACT chance of happening for real EXACTLY. There will always be something different.

Therefore, nice dreams are only nice while you're in them.

Well what I got from this was:

The eating suggests a need you wish to fill and in this context, most likely a closeness with someone. I don't know what the pierogi could mean, it probably has a personal meaning to you. I think it's probably your worry about this kind of situation never happening, you were happy in your dream which shows a comofrting environment, this is strengthened by the fact you were in your house. These emotions conflict with your ones in real life since you think it won't happen so overall it's probably just thoughts about closeness with others (since your family were there as well connects to the thought of closeness and they are where we learn how to treat others).

Don't know if that helps, it was kind of difficult to interpret but this is what I got.

Haha, it wasn't. ^^ I believe that, too. It's why I love dreams and trying to make meanings out of them sometimes. 8D I usually take note of them.

Well, true, but wouldn't it be better if you actually had some form of answer, whether or not it has basis? Yes, you have a choice to disregard a dream, but what if you don't, or you can't, and it just keeps bothering you until you get an answer? I don't know why, but it seems senseless if you try to come up with "the right interpretation" of a dream when a dream is symbolizing a message or something and pretty much any form of interpretation is technically correct, if it's from the dreamer.

In other words or something (xD"), no one is right and you might as well come up with an interpretation that could be "wrong" and say it's right because any interpretation is "wrong", since there is so little fact.

Besides, if I'm the one with the dream, it's MY subconscious. There's some link with the subconscious and conscious mind.

The best person to interpret your own dreams is you really, since something within the dream could have a significant meaning to you and only you. There is also the possibility that the things in our dream mean something similar to what they are

    For example:
When I was about 4, the school was banning Pokemon cards and this upset me greatly, that night I dreamt one of the dinner ladies took my cards off me and threw them into a huge pile of them, they had an elastic band wrapped around them (band = banned).

I don't know if that made sense, but what I'm trying to say is there are many different interpretations, other people can give vague suggestions but only you can see what is between the lines.

A bad interpretation will leave you misunderstanding your subconscious, which can be dangerous to emotional health. That's why an incorrect answer is not preferable to no answer at all.

You're right, in the sense that it's very difficult to find one true interpretation. However you can get further and closer to the truth with each interpretation. The truth is the nature of one's subconscious. Also, the dreamer can make a wrong interpretation, because it is the conscious mind that is trying to decode it, while the subconscious is the one that posed the riddle in the first place.

For example, let's take the dream about pierogi and his crush. Let's assume that the true meaning was what you suggested. One could draw a different conclusion from it. For example, the pierogi represents a close bond between him and his parents, as it's a comfort food. Everyone sitting around having a good time, and the key point was that his crush was there. So he then draws the conclusion, "My subconscious believes that getting a girlfriend will result in improved relations with my parents," when the real truth is the one you suggested.

There's a link, yes. The dreams may represent the subconscious. This doesn't mean the interpretations of the dreams, and thus how we interpret our subconscious, are correct. Accidentally misunderstanding the subconscious is not something that one should do.

The dreamer will have a better idea of the meaning than someone else, yes. It doesn't follow that the dreamer has a flawless perspective, nor does it follow that the dreamer is able to correctly interpret the dream.

    *munches popcorn*

    ...

    You blew me away.

Anyways, I guess that makes us both right in a sense. It all just adds up to the dreamer; if s/he's going to interpret it right or not, if s/he's going to take the dream to heart or something. Though, I believe (believe) that the dreamer would actually know if he interpreted it wrong, since the subcon. and con. have a link and like I said, it IS your subcon... But yes, wrong interpretation is still possible.

Meh, I dunno anymore. I'm just an average, passing-grade girl who has prophetic dreams most of the time and needs no interpretation. :| Goodness my life sucks...

All I have left to say is this popcorn is good and our subconscious just seems SO much more wise.

You've hardly lost. All I've done is gotten you to acknowledge the possibility of misinterpreting a dream. Assuming the topic in question is "There is point to interpreting dreams", there are still plenty of approaches you could take.

Hoh? I'm jealous, both of the popcorn and the prophetic dreams.

My subconscious doesn't ever seem much more wise. Either the dream is completely insane, vaguely lucid, or easy to guess the meaning of. It doesn't really help make decisions or anything of the sort. :/

There are also some dreams you'd rather not have interpretations for. What sort of message can one get out of nightmares?

Hm, I don't have popcorn anymore (cause I finished it) and prophetic dreams kind of...suck for me. :/ It's like nothing surprises you anymore and you can hardly tell dream from reality cause you're aware of what happens in prophetic dreams and they just seem so real. And the constant deja vu feeling and minor headaches are annoying. -.-

Wow, vaguely lucid? How does that work? o.o

One can get life-lessons from nightmares. XD That's happened; it was just so stright forward.

Vaguely lucid: "Hey, this is probably a dream." -continues going along with dream- OR "Hey, this is a dream. None of this is real. I'm outta here."

I haven't gotten to the point of, "Hey, this is probably a dream. BRB, flying to the moon," as I always begin questioning whether it really is a dream. Naturally, flying to the moon IRL would be rather fatal, so dream-logic dictates that it's a bad idea to risk it.

After I watched the film Inception I was determined to be conscious enough to control my dreams. I do get to that state at times and it is epic, a world where you can do whatever you want.

Yeah, you were probably just worried about doing your homework xD.

Many people have this, try telling yourself before you go to bed- "I will remember my dream!" Eventually you will teach yourself to remember them. Well this worked for a friend of mine, so it's worth trying.

I just had a dream that was related to the girl I really like again. In this one, We were in school and we were recieving math worksheets (which is my favorite subject) and she seemed like she didnt want me around much. (which is how I actually feel, I feel like she hates me, even if she doesnt). and every name example used in the worksheet had her last name. And that's all i could read.

It's just your waking thoughts being projected onto your dreams. You like this girl, you think about her a lot, and worry that she doesn't like you. She's then inserted into a familiar scenario in which you'd see her, along with a bit of dream-logic, such as the sheets being filled with her name, and there you go, you have your dream.

Dreams like those don't help you much, in my opinion. They just hurt.

Currently, my own dreams tend to involve something I really want to happen. It occurs, then I wake up, and slowly realise that it didn't happen, and was all a dream. Particularly bad this morning. It happened, but I realised that it was a dream. Then I 'woke up', and it occurred again. I didn't figure out it was a dream until I woke up for real.
