Hello KH-Vids. The day that we've been waiting for is finally approaching us less than 24 hours from this post. Actually, what we're really waiting for is the international release of Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. Either way we're also very excited to see that the game is releasing in Japan, because North America and Europe is expecting the title shorty.

In the mean time, we're taking a 360 turn and looking back at Kingdom Hearts II. Why? Many of you may have forgotten that one for the best titles from the series was released on March 28 2006. Yes, it was indeed Kingdom Hearts II. The official release for North America.

This title has brought SO much speculation since it's release. Looking back at the secret ending, fans believed that the Keyblade War was indeed Kingdom Hearts III. Meanwhile it's been six years later and we haven't seen a Kingdom Hearts III title. What we've seen was three side stories and now finally Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance.

What makes Dream Drop Distance special today? It is the crossroads between Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded and Kingdom Hearts III.

Today is not the official release of Kingdom Hearts II in North America. Tomorrow (March 28 2012) is the official anniversary, but since Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance will be released in Japan, this day will surpass the Kingdom Hearts II anniversary. Let's take a moment of silence and remember Kingdom Hearts II. I leave you with the ultimate Kingdom Hearts II promotional videos above....

      Man, this takes me back...
I remember when this game first came out, I spoiled myself silly, mainly because back then, Europe had to wait 6 months until it final arrived. It was also the year I bought a PS2, just for the sole purpose of playing Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 back-to-back. Since then, I've seen that the PS2 has so much more to offer, and I couldn't be happier that I bought both it and Kingdom Hearts 2.

Ah good old kh2, it wasn't my intro to the series but it built my interest in it. I skipped chain of memories (for some reason I thought it was a remake of kh1), so when I first popped in kh2 I was confused as hell. Where's Sora?, who's this Roxas kid?, what's with the coats?, and tons of other questions that I wanted answered (which is the reason I haven't skipped any of the last handheld games). But then by the end of Roxas' week I sorta liked him and I was genuinely sad when he left. It was one of the most unique experiences I've felt in a game, not liking a character because he wasn't what I expected then growing to care about him in just a few hours.

Anyway that's one of the many stand out moments of kh2 to me and I hope the series comes up with, even more interesting, unique experiences in the future!

I did the same. I skipped chain of memories (don't really remember why) but when I bought KH2, I was completely lost! I stopped playing and bought chain of memories. I beat it before continuing KH2. Made a lot more sense then haha. KH2 is my favorite of the series.....I actually have a whole PS2 memory card full with KH2 files :P

The trailer brings back so many memories of awaiting for the game to finally come out in stores....skipped school that day just to play

KHII is six years old? When did I first get the game, 2007 or 2008...if 2007, man I'm feeling really old. :/
But KHII, along with FFX and some Pokemon games and some BBC shows make me cry with nostalgia. Truly those days were the greatest of my life so far. Experiencing the story....I have never loved a game more than I have loved KHII and FFX.

Those were the days, and I hope I will continue to experience them like I have in BBS and some parts of XIII-2. Happy anniversary KHII! ^^
(Man, we're close to KH3D, and I still haven't bothered to buy a 3DS yet...I'd be surprised if I do bother to buy it by Christmas...)

Still another 6 months to go over here in Europe til KH2 is 6 years old xD

But don't forget that today is also the official 10th anniversary of KH series as a whole ^^ *makes a toast*

I once saw a commercial about this game a few years back, and I saw an article of the game on a cover of some magazine. It was at that time I was introduced to this franchise, and I am sure I will never forget that time.

All ads bring back memories, except for that Disney Channel one, Disney is already tainted as it is, I their most tainted product, Disney Channel to touch on Kingdom Hearts.

Oh goodness this brings back soooo many memories. Chain of Memories was the first one I played and instantly fell in love with it (though the WHOLE time I thought it was the first Kingdom Hearts game ._.). Having beaten the game and looking for secrets I went on Gamespot and saw something catch my eye; a trailer for Kingdom Hearts II... Now being 11 at the time I wasn't able to control my screams and yelps of wonder when I first saw it. I immediately begged my mom to get it for my birthday since I got a PS2 the previous Christmas. Now, thinking that KH:CoM was the first game left me quite confused since I saw a lot of moments in KHII that didn't happen haha. But since I immediately fell in love with the series I had my mom get me the first one shortly after I beat the second and I haven't missed another Kingdom Hearts game since...

Oh nostalgia... I miss you so much......

I feel like I'm drowning in a sea of nostalgia .
      All this feels .

I remember grabbing this from the store and begging my mum for it - good thing I had my brother joining me. It was the best day of my 2006. I salute you, my little 11 year old self. I literally pay my life to this series. Ugh, can't even explain it.

A very happy 6th year anniversary (since it is already the 28th here) to one of my favourite titles ever. KHII I love youuuuu <3

      ...
      BUT OHMAHGSH KH3D I AM SCREAMING .
My friend is in Japan. She's not a KH fan... WHICH MAKES ME MORE JEALOUS ABUBUBUBBU

      Wow...I feel so old...

      I didn't get to play KH2 until 2008, though, because before then I didn't have a PS 2

But OMG IT WAS THE BEST THING EVERRR

Wow, I feel like such an old lady...

My friends were really hyped for KH1 and showed me from what I believed it was a guidebook. I laughed it off, saying Sora is a girl's name (back then, I only knew Digimon season 1), and noticed a picture of Captain Hook and Ursula. Four years later, the year was 2006 and my family was on Disney World vacation. We went to a store and I noticed a guy with spiky blonde hair with a strange weapon other than a keyblade on television. It was ROXAS! Somehow I knew it was KH2, must be because I saw the Disney commercial. I immediately got sucked in and use PS2 controllers and fight a guy in black coat and red hair (if you guys remember this scene, then I'll give cookies). After that trip, I bought a PS2 and its games.

Now, whenever I talk to those same friends, they don't share the same enthusiasm as I do. :(

If we did a '360 turn', we'd be looking the same way we were before. As in, forwards, not backwards.

      ... sorry xD

On the topic, I remember being so young and excited when KHII came out. ;~; Bring back those days of yore.

When people mention they feel so old then mention an event (in this case the year we played KH2) that they experienced which is more recent than my experience. It makes me feel older. T_T

I was thinking about pointing that out as I thought he meant to look backwards by turning 180 degrees. But I thought maybe Mike meant 360 turn as in moving a clock hand backwards in time to the same time (or date in this case) as now only 6 years ago. If I'm making any sense.
